Students who struggled through the height of the Covid-19 pandemic – between March 2020 and early 2023 – are still having trouble keeping up with course work, according to a study from the nonprofit NWEA, which focuses on education research. “This analysis provides the most current evidence to help guide recovery efforts and resource allocations in support of schools,” an NWEA news release said. “While the pandemic is now deemed over, the impacts on students based on two markers, achievement in reading and mathematics, are still apparent.” The study used data from 6.7 million public school students from grades 3-8,...

Jay Valentine makes a strong case that ballots should not be mailed out to addresses for which mail cannot be delivered (vacant lots), at which voters cannot reside (commercial or industrial addresses), or where mail cannot be accurately delivered (apartment or dorm buildings with no apartment number or dorm room number.) He recommends purifying voter rolls so that ballots will not be mailed out to addresses where mail cannot be delivered or voters cannot live. This can be done by compiling the Undeliverable Ballot Database (UBD).To support his argument, Valentine quotes a message from a retired mailman who said that...

Against some recent data, there is a potential restructuring that is worthy of discussion. The epic failures of the DeSantis campaign and Never Back Down SuperPAC are well documented. In essence, everything has backfired because the origin of almost everything was/is built upon a fraudulent premise. From the scheming and conniving going all the way back to the original 2018 campaign, to the proactive recruitment of the exact wrong influencers 18 months prior to the official launch, to the enlistment of the Cruz crew, to the covert national campaign under the faked auspices of a book tour, everything paid for by...

People are starting to realize why the people who control Ron DeSantis could not launch their 2024 election bid from Florida.Despite Ron DeSantis being a Florida native and current governor, President Trump is leading him 50% to 30% in state-wide polling. Regionally and within the demographics of the poll, things look even worse. [Article Here] Casey will not be happy.Trump is winning Miami-Dade by 59 points (70% to 11%) and leading by 39 points with Hispanic voters and 26% among Black voters. The Sea Island recruitment of Miami-Dade Mayor Francisco Suarez is not getting the results originally planned by the...

In November 2022, four eminent scientists issued a theoretical physics paper, “Nitrous Oxide and Climate.” It proves that the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)’s “war on nitrous oxide” to achieve Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2050 threatens to cause a significant collapse in the world’s food supply. The article’s four authors are eminent men in their field, so their analysis and opinion deserve to be taken very seriously: (1) C.A. de Lange, a physicist at Vrije Universiteit, in Amsterdam; (2) J.D. Ferguson, an M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania, with a specialty in developing computer models of the effect...

With a media campaign going on against conservative Supreme Court justices in the wake of Roe v. Wade, the Associated Press decided to do a little digging on the others -- and came up with a doozy on Justice Sonia Sotomayor, starting with a softball lede:WASHINGTON (AP) — For colleges and libraries seeking a boldfaced name for a guest lecturer, few come bigger than Sonia Sotomayor, the Supreme Court justice who rose from poverty in the Bronx to the nation’s highest court. She has benefited, too — from schools’ purchases of hundreds, sometimes thousands, of the books she has written over...

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that “uncertainty” over whether the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) alliance will offer admission to Ukraine motivates Russia to continue “terror” in its war on Kyiv. “It seems there is no readiness neither to invite Ukraine to NATO nor to make it a member of the Alliance,” Zelensky said. “This means that a window of opportunity is being left to bargain Ukraine’s membership in NATO in negotiations with Russia. And for Russia, this means motivation to continue its terror.”

It’s undeniable that PINO – President-In-Name-Only – Joe Biden is massively corrupt in every possible way. From leveraging his position as vice-president for cash to covering up for his meth-addled, stripper-banging, scumbag son – who is currently spilling his Bolivian party powder all over the White House – this senile pervert is a one-man crimewave. And the ruling class simply doesn’t care. If anything, its members are happy about it. This is not something they merely excuse. This is something that they find a positive good. Grandpa Badfinger reset the corruption bar for all of them. Now they too can...

Former Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX), who won a special election last year and then lost in the general election in November, is launching a comeback bid for her old congressional seat. Flores shocked the political world when last year she won a special election in Texas’s 34th congressional district–traditionally it has been a Democrat stronghold–winning outright and avoiding a runoff in June last year.

In 1965, then undersecretary of labor Daniel Patrick Moynihan foresaw a problem that was about to undo the promise of Martin Luther King’s 1963 “I have a dream” speech, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and his boss Lyndon Jonson’s 1965 launch of the “Great Society.”In reading her dissenting opinion last week on the affirmative action case before the Supreme Court, I got the distinct impression that Justice Sonia Sotomayor never read Moynihan’s The Negro Family: The Case for National Action, likely never heard of it, and certainly had no idea of how prescient it would prove to be.Despite the...

VILNIUS, Lithuania — The White House refused to comment Tuesday on the potential legal exposure for President Biden, first son Hunter and first brother James Biden after a US citizen was criminally charged for working as an unregistered agent of the same Chinese firm that paid the Biden family. “What’s the White House’s take on potential [Foreign Agents Registration Act] liability for the first family and the president?” The Post asked White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan at a NATO summit in Lithuania. “I’ve not seen that and cannot comment on it,” Sullivan deflected during a briefing. White House...

Johannesburg, South Africa was treated to a rare dusting of snow this week – the city’s first in more than 10 years. The unexpected winter wonderland was part of a patch of snow that covered various provinces through the weekend into Monday, South Africa’s Times newspaper reported. Photos from around the city show delighted residents gallivanting among the snowflakes, which last coated the area in August 2012. “Eleven years down the line, it’s exciting that we have snow,” local Jennifer Banda said. Others on social media referred to the weather as “pure magic,” The Guardian reported.

These days, the antidote looks more like the poison than the cure. At least, that was the case for Kim Witczak’s husband who, while struggling with insomnia, was put on antidepressants. He ultimately lost himself and ended up committing suicide. Kim and Dr. Liz Mumper discuss the details, today, on ‘Good Morning CHD.’

The e-mail was about Chanel Lewis, whom I wrote about in a 2022 article for The Nation, “When The NYPD Gets Desperate.” In 2019, Lewis was convicted of the 2016 murder of Karina Vetrano. In my piece, I confirmed that during the Vetrano homicide investigation the NYPD illegally used a private and secretive DNA lab to conduct unproven forensics and then failed to disclose it during Lewis’s first trial, which ended in a mistrial, or his second, which ended in a life sentence. “We have recently received some disturbing reports about his circumstances,” Scaife wrote. The information in the June...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a sudden flurry of moves declared by members of the administration to be a "total coincidence" in the wake of cocaine being discovered in the White House, President Joe Biden has promised to fix the immigration issues at the southern border, reduce inflation, end the Ukraine-Russia war, eliminate student debt, reverse climate change, eradicate hotel junk fees, fund all new infrastructure initiatives, balance the national budget, and redesign the White House Rose Garden by 4 A.M. tomorrow morning. "Listen up, folks!" Biden said frantically with wide-open, bloodshot eyes. "It's — sniff — time to stop...

VIDEOOkay, technically it's the Seattle Mariner's Moose Mascot but to all appearances he is Bullwinkle. And, bizarrely, the FBI enlisted Bullwinkle for a PSA on flying drones in restricted areas. Perhaps the FBI could also enlist Bullwinkle to appear before Congress. Bullwinkle would certainly be more forthcoming in answering question than typical stonewalling FBI officials whose standard answer is "I can't comment about an ongoing investigation." We should be hearing a lot of that stonewalling excuse when FBI Director Christopher Wray appears before Congress on July 12. Better to have Bullwinkle provide the answers because he is sure to be...

ROME — Archbishop Víctor Manuel Fernández, the newly appointed prefect of the Vatican’s doctrinal office (DDF), insisted in a recent interview he is not a Freemason or a “Soros spy infiltrated in the Church.” The progressive Archbishop Fernández told Crux, an online U.S.-based Catholic news outlet, that insinuations that he is a Soros plant looking to advance a New World Order are “pure fantasies.” As Breitbart News reported, on July 1 Pope Francis announced the elevation of Archbishop Fernández, his longtime friend and ghostwriter, to the post as head of the Vatican’s powerful doctrinal office.

Newport Mayor Dean Sawyer apologized and resigned Monday morning after spurring a public uproar and calls to step down for a yearslong series of hateful posts to a private police Facebook group, saying “My online persona has become too polarizing for me to continue.” “I now realize that some of my actions and my words have hurt people I love and care about,” Sawyer wrote in his resignation letter first shared with The Oregonian/OregonLive. “This is something that I take full responsibility for. I am sorry to everyone in this community and anyone hurt by my actions, directly or indirectly.”...

To the people out there who think that there's nothing wrong with that..., you're f---ed up. This is bull---t. And there's something wrong with you,' the dad said. A father went on an explosive rant against gender ideology after his 9-year-old son who plays tackle football, and is a "boy's boy," was exposed to the topic by a doctor ... The dad had just got off the phone with his wife when he recorded the video, and angrily recounted how his 9-year-old son was exposed to gender ideology during a routine checkup at the doctor's office. His son needed to...

Artificial intelligence working to help protect national security is "here to stay," and the U.S. Air Force is already showcasing how AI can dominate airspace. "We need to recognize that AI is here. It's here to stay. It's a powerful tool," Air Force Col. Tucker "Cinco" Hamilton said in a video published by the Air Force Research Laboratory. The AFRL, which is headquartered in Ohio, detailed plans this month on how autonomous drones will act like wingmen to pilots in the future, including training artificial intelligence on the Kratos XQ-58 Valkyrie experimental drone. AFRL’s office of Strategic Development, Planning and...
