The most powerful federal appeals court in the western United States once again refused to let cities and towns force the homeless off of the streets unless communities provide shelter for them. Cities large and small across the west coast have tried, and failed, to overturn the higher court's ruling for years, the latest of which came from the Oregon city, Grants Pass. "We are having a situation where the police were telling homeless people that they couldn't sleep in public or private, and private property," said Grants Pass Mayor Sara Bristol. "And eventually, that kind of boiled down to...

LOS ANGELES -- California’s governor announced Friday that he won’t ask the state Supreme Court to block parole for Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten, paving the way for her release after serving 53 years in prison for two infamous murders. In a brief statement, the governor’s office said it was unlikely that the state's high court would consider an appeal of a lower court ruling that Van Houten should be released.

Even people who aren’t otherwise familiar with the Bible tend to know it, and often on movies and television, when we see someone praying, it’s the Lord’s Prayer. We find the most familiar text of the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 in the King James Version: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine...

The globalist coalition government in The Netherlands collapsed on Friday evening, with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte tendering his resignation to King Willem-Alexander on Saturday, paving the way for elections to be held by November and the possibility of the populist pro-farmer BBB party to come into power. The fourth government of Mark Rutte, 56, the Netherlands’ longest-serving prime minister, collapsed on Friday evening as coalition partners were seemingly incapable of coming to a compromise on the issue of migration and asylum policy. This marks the third time since coming to power in 2010 that a Rutte government failed to complete...

This week I saw a depressing article entitled "U.N. issues famine warning," which warned, "Up to 80 million people will be plunged into hunger if climate targets are not met." The situation, we are told, is dire. According to the article: "The world is advancing toward a catastrophic future where tens of millions of people will be at risk of famine unless climate change is adequately addressed, the United Nations' human rights chief warned at a debate on Monday. Speaking to officials at the U.N. Human Rights Council event in Geneva, Switzerland, Volker Turk said extreme weather events were having...

A worrisome dimension of the Chinese weapon programme relating to the weaponisation of public opinion in target countries has been confirmed by a twelve-page report of US researchers. The report entitled “Enumerating, Targeting and Collapsing the Chinese Communist Party’s NeuroStrike Program” indicates that China has developed a new type of neuro-strike weapons that are not only capable of disabling the cognitive capabilities of targets but can also control their brains. These weapons can cause neurological problems in a human, reduce his awareness, and tamper with the brains of soldiers in battle. NeuroStrike, as defined by McCreight- a well-known expert on...

I run my own DNS servers and Mail server, I have purchased a few battery backups that are available, they work but they only work for a limited time. With one backup per computer, which I have 3, they will run for about 45 minutes if the power goes out. None of them work properly with Windows Server 19 to shut down system then restart when the power comes back on. I have had to make multiple emergency trips to my home in Arizona where they are setup, just to turn them back on. Yes it sucks. I decided to...

In Colorado, 198 Oklahomans received abortions last year, up from 12 in 2021, according to that state’s Department of Public Health and Environment

Information / Baghdad.. In conjunction with the rise of American voices calling for granting licenses in favor of organizations that encourage promiscuity and homosexuality, the Parliamentary Legal Committee confirms its intention to introduce legislation to protect society from negative phenomena supported by the West. A member of the Legal Committee, Aref Al-Hamami, said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, “His committee hopes to pass a law to criminalize anyone who promotes and supports deviant paths.” Al-Hamami added, “All political blocs support the enactment of a law that criminalizes homosexuality, deviant acts, drugs and other negative phenomena.”

According to the filing, after (Heritage Foundation) Dewey pointed out that the DOJ could “alleviate the exigency” by “seeking to delay the plea hearing,” (DOJ Attorney) Lynch admitted that his counterpart was “‘absolutely right’ that the Department COULD file such a motion and that DOJ Counsel would take that point back to the ‘District’ (presumably speaking of the District of Delaware).” (snip) Federal prosecutors have refused to turn over any of the records even after the foundation’s lawyers filed a Freedom of Information Act Request. (snip) The Heritage Foundation and House Republican leaders have requested access to communications between Weiss...

[Catholic Caucus] ‘Synodal Way’ Working Group Agendas Unveiled in GermanyThe German Bishops and the lay Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK) announced the formation of six groups to discuss topics such as “gender” and the role of women in the Church as part of the controversial “synodal way” process. The synodal way is purportedly intended to encourage dialogue between Catholic clergy and lay Catholics. As the process has unfolded, however, it has become evident that its leaders are angling to reject certain doctrines of the Church. After the conclusion of the first three years of the synodal way, the six new groups...

America’s two-tier justice system keeps rolling along. And Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, who snubbed the House’s request for documents pertaining to his probe of Hunter Biden, is the latest to show how far the Department of Justice will go to keep it rolling. Hunter, President Joseph Robinette Biden’s black-sheep son, is facing tax and weapons charges that would represent deep hot water for most Americans. But Hunter isn’t most Americans. He’s the president’s son, and, allegedly, bagman as well. And our Justice Department, headed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, is out to spare him the consequences of his actions....

If you’re a retiree and you’re trying to square the circle of rising costs, longer lifespans, more expensive medical care and turbulent markets, don’t be afraid to run the numbers on your biggest investment. That would be your home — if you own it. U.S. house prices are now so high that it is almost impossible for seniors not to ask themselves the obvious question: “Should we cash in, invest the money, and rent?” Right now the average U.S. house price is nearly $360,000. That’s about a third higher than just a few years ago, before the COVID-19 pandemic. The...

John F. Kelly, who served as former President Donald J. Trump’s second White House chief of staff, said in a sworn statement that Mr. Trump had discussed having the Internal Revenue Service and other federal agencies investigate two F.B.I. officials involved in the investigation into his campaign’s ties to Russia. Mr. Kelly said that his recollection of Mr. Trump’s comments to him was based on notes that he had taken at the time in 2018. Mr. Kelly provided copies of his notes to lawyers for one of the F.B.I. officials, who made the sworn statement public in a court filing....

A trend is emerging in which those who seemingly were Trump supporters are being uncovered as something else, in some cases they now appear to be “never-again Trumpers.” Laura Loomer reported on the late-night communications House Speaker McCarthy had, apparently in preparation to modify California’s Delegate laws in order to move some delegates away from the presumed frontrunner – Trump, and toward a runner-up such as DeSantis. Here in Georgia, Brian Kemp, Brad Raffensperger and others have made it quite clear that they will not support Trump. Raffenspergers office has said hey will not even confirm the election schedule until...

Movies can sometimes be something of a Rorschach test in terms of how one views the world. Like Rorschach tests, they can sometimes leave an observer scratching their heads. As an example, my top 10 movies are probably, in no particular order, Gladiator, Tombstone, Braveheart, LA Confidential, Valley Girl, (The original masterpiece with Deborah Foreman and Nicolas Cage, not that terrible remake!) Lost in Translation, Galaxy Quest, Trading Places, Love Actually and maybe Titanic. I’m not sure what that list says about me, particularly the inclusion of Valley Girl, but I’m sure some psychiatrist somewhere could say there’s something to...

LONDON (AP) – The Scottish government has proposed decriminalising possession of all drugs for personal use to tackle one of Europe’s highest overdose death rates. The suggestion was almost instantly blocked by the Conservative UK government in London, which said it had “no plans” to soften drug laws. The semi-autonomous Edinburgh government, led by the pro-independence Scottish National Party, said Friday that removing criminal penalties for drug possession would “allow for the provision of safe, evidence-based harm reduction services.”
