The broadcast industry was abuzz yesterday following Ford Motor Company’s announcement that it will keep AM radio as a feature in its newer model cars. It’s welcome news for AM advocates who have been fighting for the preservation of the senior band in recent months. That fight, however, is not over. Lawmakers continue to push for legislation that would protect AM in all vehicles, and radio broadcasters are keeping the pressure on other automakers to follow Ford’s lead. Ford CEO Jim Farley made the announcement via social media Tuesday morning: “After speaking with policy leaders about the importance of AM...

A school district in Fargo, North Dakota, will conceal the gender identities of students from parents in spite of a state law prohibiting the policy. "We will not openly out any student because of one law if we know that that's going to cause harm to that child," said Fargo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Rupak Gandhi, who is backed in the decision by the school board. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, a Republican, signed the bill earlier in May that banned schools from withholding or concealing "information about a student's transgender status from the student's parent or legal guardian." Springer’s Archives of Sexual Behavior is retracting a major academic paper that explores the “socially contagious” aspect of youth transgenderism following threats from transgender activists, according to documents reviewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation. The paper, titled “Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria: Parent Reports on 1655 Possible Cases,” found that children who suddenly adopted transgender identities in adolescence skewed heavily female and frequently had preexisting mental health issues. The journal has claimed the retraction is due to researchers’ failure to obtain written informed consent from survey participants, but Dr. Michael Bailey, one of the study’s authors, disputes this explanation and...

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) said that a debt ceiling deal that is only about cuts to domestic spending “will be difficult, because, for many of us, investing in education, workforce, health care is important.” Host Martha MacCallum asked, “[I]sn’t it incumbent upon all of you to figure out a way to cut some spending? Clearly, there’s waste in government spending.” Coons answered, “Martha, there [are] two parts of balancing any budget…there’s revenue and there’s spending. And our challenge here is that the House Republican majority is determined to make the...
