'Ideological litmus test' prevented Christian mom from becoming adoptive parent in Oregon [a widowed mother of five vs. state law requiring support of the “sexual orientation, gender identity and expression”]

The law firm Alliance Defending Freedom announced in a statement Monday that it had filed a lawsuit on behalf of Jessica Bates, “a [widowed] single mother of five wishing to adopt siblings from foster care.” As noted by the law firm, Bates “seeks to adopt a sibling pair, who are generally harder to place.”

The lawsuit follows the Oregon Department of Human Services’ refusal to grant Bates the certification required to become an adoptive parent after she informed the state that her religious beliefs prevented her from complying with a state law requiring prospective adoptive parents to “respect, accept and support” the “sexual orientation, gender identity, [and] gender expression” of the children they seek to adopt.

As she underwent the necessary training to become an adoptive parent, an instructor informed Bates that “adoptive and resource parents must use a child’s stated pronouns and affirm a child’s gender identity if the child’s identity does not align with their biological sex.”

Additionally, the instructor provided an example of how a parent could “support a child’s sexual orientation or gender identity” by “allowing a child to dress however they want and taking them to a Pride parade.”

And a Judge dismissed concerns over ‘gender manipulating’ foster parents

A judge has dismissed concerns that two foster parents in Lancashire have been manipulating children in their care to ‘change sex’.

One of the couple’s biological sons began living as a girl from the age of seven. Two of their three foster children also subsequently began living as the opposite sex.

The judge from Preston Family Court ruled that the couple were “good parents”, largely based on comments presented by psychologist Vickie Pasterski.

Pasterski is publicly supportive of a doctor who was struck off for illegally distributing damaging sex-change hormones to children as young as twelve.

Helen Webberley ran an online GP clinic from her home in Abergavenny, and used her position to operate a private clinic for children who felt they were ‘in the wrong body’.

Social services began investigating the Lancashire case after a boy in the couple’s care was given girls’ clothing to wear to school from the age of four.

But in good news Supreme Court rules Christian foster agency can't be forced to place kids with same-sex couples. In a unanimous decision released Thursday morning in Fulton v.
