North Dakota school district will conceal students' gender identities from parents despite state law prohibiting it

A school district in Fargo, North Dakota, will conceal the gender identities of students from parents in spite of a state law prohibiting the policy.

"We will not openly out any student because of one law if we know that that's going to cause harm to that child," said Fargo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Rupak Gandhi, who is backed in the decision by the school board.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, a Republican, signed the bill earlier in May that banned schools from withholding or concealing "information about a student's transgender status from the student's parent or legal guardian."

Some parents expressed outrage at a school board meeting about the decision.

"The way I see it, the way I heard it is that you want to protect kids from their parents," said one father. "Instead of encouraging everyone to talk more, you are suppressing talk."

Another parent accused them of trying to take away authority from parents.

Whoops. The rest of the article...

“I really urge you all to pay attention to what we’re setting as a precedent,” said the mother. “Whose kids are these? Do they belong to you as a school board? Do they belong to Fargo Public Schools? Or is each child’s parent ultimately the decision-maker in their family over what is allowed and what is safe for that child?”

Critics of the law said that revealing a student’s gender identity to the parents might lead to dangerous confrontations.

Gandhi cited suicide statistics put out by an LGBTQ advocacy group to argue that hiding the gender identities from parents was protecting the students.

“You teach your kids that nobody who asks you to keep a secret is safe,” said another mother at the meeting. “Now, this is going the other way. This is an adult saying that they’ll keep a child’s secret.”

A good place to start would be to prohibit “teachers” unions from participating in our children’s educations.

Put Dr. Rupak Gandhi and the school board and any teachers involved in jail if they break that law.

Instill fear in these marxists and this behavior may correct itself.

“Superintendent Dr. Rupak Gandhi”

We should start by not hiring these foreign born idiots for these positions such as this and as Judges or politicians.

Sue the Superintendent, the Principals and the School Board Members both in their capacity with the District AND as individuals. Three million per individual..

That will put a stop to this since law enforcement won’t.

Like cities and counties, school districts are creations of the state. The state of North Dakota should directly take charge of the Fargo school district and appoint state officials to manage the district.

If they don’t have to abide by the rules, neither does anyone else. Be careful, school board. The only thing protecting many of you from great bodily harm are rules.

This is the state we are in all over this country.

We live(d) in a Constitutional Republic, and have laws (Both good and bad, useful and useless) that must be followed under penalty of law.

Much of the terrible situation is due to the fact that people and entities have decided which laws they will obey and which ones they will break, and it is compounded by governments at all levels deciding which ones they will enforce, and which ones they will ignore, or openly violate with impunity themselves.

Be it immigration law, tax law, election law, trading law, privacy law, property law, or violent crime law, some people can break those laws with impunity, while others are punished.

I have said it often on this forum: There are two fundamental things that must be met for this kind of Constitutional Republic to exist and governments under it to be legitimate, and if they are met, we consent to being governed:

First, we must be able to choose who governs us in free and fair elections.

Second, all citizens are subject to the same laws and must abide by them, including those elected.

I submit that we no longer live under a legitimate government, because neither of those conditions are met.

The fact that this school district chooses to ignore laws passed by legal legislative action (The same way that places around the country “choose” (against the law) to become “Sanctuary Cities” for illegal immigrants, or the federal government “chooses” to ignore the law it is legally tasked with enforcing.

We will not last like this.

The State Police needs to be invited to a meeting.

What a crazy world this is.

Children think they are a boy trapped in a girl’s body, or vice versa. Not only are liberal schools enabling this, but they actively want to hide this information from parents.

So a parent with a child who has gender dysphoria, has no right to know about such a condition, and no legal right to deal with their child on this. Is that really what the situation is?

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

This is maddening.

What is more maddening is the bigger picture.

Public education is ALL indoctrination, NO EDUCATION.

If schools focused on educating kids in reading, writing, and arithmetic, they might not have the time to perpetrate Satan’s handiwork.

So, as a state employee your personal opinion on what could cause harm overrides a certain violation of a law written by representatives of the entire state.

YOu are either a terrorist or a criminal, or both.

Was the state law enacted with teeth (injunctions, fines, civil suits, etc.)?

He apparently has an “R” after his name, but this is not an issue that will resonate with the conservative base in any state. If he is doing it to “reach across the aisle” I want nothing to do with him.

As far as I am concerned, people like him who “reach across the aisle” on things like immigration, LBGTQXYZ issues, Abortion, or Second Amendment issues are collaborating with our enemies, will engender in me only a grim satisfaction when they eventually pull back a bloody stump after “reaching across the aisle” to people who hate us and want us dead, if not just our ideas, actually physically.
