Florida is eliminating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in higher education, which Gov. Ron DeSantis said have been used as a “veneer to impose an ideological agenda” in universities. DeSantis is signing Senate Bill 266, which specifies that Florida institutes of higher education can not use state or federal funds to promote DEI initiatives DeSantis explained that the bill will effectively “reorient our universities back to their traditional missions,” which is to treat people as individuals and elevate merit over superficial characteristics promoted by the radical left.

The U.S.-Mexico border has, rightfully, been the center of attention for even normally unconcerned mainstream outlets after last week's expiration of Title 42. More records for daily encounters and the number of illegal immigrants released into the U.S. have been set, and another individual on a terror watch list was apprehended after illegally crossing into the country, putting an exclamation point on the dangers posed by an unsecured border. But at the same time, illegal immigrants have been surging across the U.S.-Canada border, but getting far less attention. Townhall previously reported on warnings from border officials and local leaders as...

I was debating gun control. Someone insisted that his gun was his best protection. I told him that his best protection is something he can’t even see, something he’s probably never thought about. His best protection is something ephemeral, something multisyllabic; something you can’t explain in a soundbite. “Your best protection,” I insisted, “is narrative.”My family lived in the same house for almost seventy years. I was in and out of that house for decades. Not only did I never use a key, I don’t even know if a key existed. We slept with doors and windows open. Neighbors walked...

The NATO and U.S.-backed war against Russia began in 2000 when Clinton courted New York’s large Ukrainian American constituency in her run for the U.S. Senate. Hillary openly recognized the Holodomor [Stalin’s plan to starve millions of anti-Russian Ukrainian peasants to death in his 1932-33 communist collective farming disaster]. As a senator, she campaigned on admitting Ukraine to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and promised to set the legislative agenda to admit Ukraine to NATO.In 2010, Secretary of State Clinton was warmly welcomed in Kyiv by Ukraine’s pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych. During that visit, Clinton told Yanukovych that “NATO’s door...

that he was seriously ill. The Belarusian outlet, Pul Pervogo, posted the photo of the 68-year-old on its Telegram channel - which is known for reporting on the president - after his whereabouts were unknown for almost a week. The channel said the president was working at a central air force command base. In the post, he is standing stern-faced as he receives a salute with a bandage tied to his left hand. Mr Lukashenko had not been seen in public since last Tuesday (9 May) at Victory Day events in Moscow, and later in the Belarusian capital, Minsk. The...

Guess who stood for the national anthem? Starting in 2020, WNBA start Brittney Griner said she and her teammates would protest the national anthem. Previously, "During a game between the Phoenix Mercury and the Los Angeles Sparks, the two teams walked off the court while the National Anthem played. Interestingly enough, Griner mentioned that this will not be the last time she would walk off the court."But 10-months in a Russian prison later, and the Biden administration swapped her for a notorious international arms trafficker, the "Merchant of Death" Viktor Bout last December...Griner (red jacket) and Bout pass each other...

The brutal public judging and killing of Mr. Jordan Neely, a poor, homeless, mentally-ill Black man in New York City, offers again life-and-death evidence of the need to expand the discussion and solution concerning gun violence to include the American culture of violence itself. And the masses of Black people who are out demonstrating in defiance and demanding justice for him are to be praised and supported in their and our righteous and relentless struggle for an inclusive justice and public safety. Indeed, it is yet another case of a Black man sacrificed on the insatiable altar of Whites’ violent...

President Joe Biden caved to Republicans and signaled that he could accept some reforms in a potential debt ceiling deal after months of refusing to negotiate any spending cuts or reforms. White House and congressional staffers have wrangled over the details of a potential debt ceiling deal. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, who previously warned that the deadline was June 1 to pressure Congress, said she was hopeful about a deal.

Twitter owner Elon Musk’s newly appointed World Economic Forum-tied CEO for the platform recently tried to corner him into committing to reinstalling some of the same Orwellian censorship structures of the old regime. Gee, what a shocker (sarcasm). Then-NBCUniversal Chair of Global Advertising Linda Yaccarino pressed Musk during an interview at the 2023 MMA Global POSSIBLE Miami Event on whether he would pledge to reinstate an “influence council” akin to the old censorship-obsessed regime. “So Twitter 1.0 had a very well-populated, much loved influence council,” Yaccarino mourned. She propped the “council” up as a supposedly necessary “recurring feedback loop from...

(Daily readings from the USCCB)Jesus said to his disciples: “When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.” John 15:26–27Jesus informs His disciples that “the Spirit of truth” will come and that the Spirit, as well as the disciples, will “testify” to Him. When Jesus first spoke these words to His disciples, they would not have comprehended what He meant. Since these words are prophetic in nature, they are words...

SARASOTA, Fla. (FLV) – A reporter asked Gov. Ron DeSantis whether he believes that former President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election to President Joe Biden due to “fraud.” The reporter noted comments from DeSantis over the weekend in Iowa where he urged Republicans reject a “culture of losing.” “Do you acknowledge that Trump lost and there wasn’t all this fraud that he talks about?” the reporter asked DeSantis. “Well, I look at the last however many election cycles: 2018, we lost the House […] We lost the Senate in 2020, Biden becomes president and has done a huge amount...

For decades, our US military members have been a low priority for Democrats. During Barack Obama’s final months of his second term in office, we reported on a story about how the City of Chicago was forcing a homeless veterans group to vacate a charitable facility located on the South Side of the city where they were fed over 3,000 meals every month, to make room for restaurants and shops that would surround the new “Obama Presidential Center.” “We don’t appreciate being muscled out and put in the situation of having to negotiate from a position of despair,” facility center...

NASA's Perseverance Mars rover transmitted this image of a geological formation on the planet's surface known as "Shrinkle Haven" to scientists. I received a text message while I was driving home last week. I sent a quick reply while I was at a stoplight, but then received another message. I was near a country club, so I decided to pull into its parking lot rather than text and drive. (I act responsibly every now and then.) As I texted, I noticed that a young man, who was obviously an employee, drive by in a golf cart. After seeing me, he swung his cart around and parked perhaps 10 feet behind me. He was looking down initially, appearing to type something into...
