A Democratic delegate to Congress appears to have threatened “Twitter Files” journalist Matt Taibbi with up to five years in prison for purportedly lying under oath when he testified before Congress last month. Stacey Plaskett (D-USVI) made the threat in an April 13 letter to Taibbi, accusing the Racket News journalist of contradicting his congressional testimony about Twitter in a subsequent interview with MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan, according to a copy of the letter obtained by The Intercept reporter Lee Fang. Hasan invited Taibbi onto his show after his March 9 testimony before the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of...

Donors are reportedly having second thoughts about backing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in a potential 2024 presidential bid and are frustrated with the way he has handled a variety of issues over the last several months — from the flooding in Fort Lauderdale to abortion– as well as the way he has refused to go full throttle against the man who would be his top rival should he jump in the presidential race: former President Donald Trump.Uneasiness has been bubbling as DeSantis continues to tap dance around direct questions regarding a 2024 presidential bid.“Wouldn’t you like to know?” DeSantis...

Riley Gaines is planning a free "What is a Woman" seminar in Washington, D.C. for the Biden Administration, Congress, and Deep State bureaucrats. Riley has noted that the Biden Administration, Congress and the Deep State bureaucracies have struggled with the definition of a woman. Riley notes that the Administration's difficulty with the definition of a woman is just part of a pattern of ignorance. Riley will take a "common sense" approach and use anatomically correct dolls to demonstrate the identifying features and differences between women and men. Riley will talk slowly and use small words to help the attendees in...

The Pentagon released a video of a UFO flying over an active conflict zone in the Middle East in 2022, and its mere existence creates "the probability of unintended crossfire," according to an expert. The short clip of a metallic-looking orb flying at a fast pace was shown during Wednesday's hearing before the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities. The object was first seen moving from the top right of the screen to the bottom left. It temporarily disappears out of view and then briefly reappears.

An online Christian preacher has been ordered by a Washington County judge in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to stay silent on social media for five years after he expressed his moral and religious concerns in posts about a church that endorses same-sex marriage and a public drag queen performance in front of children. A team of attorneys with The Rutherford Institute, a nonprofit civil liberties organization, has stepped in to help Rich Penkoski. They're asking the Oklahoma Supreme Court to overturn the five-year restraining order against him, denouncing it as excessive and a clear violation of the pastor's First Amendment rights to...

Attorney General Merrick Garland is the unnamed official whose sworn testimony before Congress is being challenged in a bombshell letter from an IRS whistleblower’s attorney that also alleges a coverup in the Hunter Biden criminal investigation, The Post has learned. Attorney Mark Lytle wrote Wednesday that the longtime IRS employee wants to provide information to congressional leaders to “contradict sworn testimony to Congress by a senior political appointee” — Garland —and also to detail “preferential treatment” in the criminal probe of the first son. The whistleblower already has made disclosures to the inspectors general of the Treasury and Justice departments....

Vice President Harris slammed Congress on Thursday for lacking “the courage to stand up” to the National Rifle Association (NRA) and pass gun safety laws in the wake of several recent mass shootings. “I just think it is pitiful that the people in the United States Congress do not have the courage to stand up to the gun lobby, stand up to the NRA, and say, “Look, I support Second Amendment, but we need reasonable gun safety laws,’” Harris said during an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show.” The vice president emphasized that the Second Amendment and gun safety laws...

Instead, it has been more than 78 days since President Biden last met with Speaker McCarthy,” Manchin said in a statement. “This signals a deficiency of leadership, and it must change.” This comes as Biden refuses to meet with McCarthy about the debt ceiling. McCarthy and the Republican leadership on Wednesday unveiled...

And then they left the Taliban with $80 billion in US military equipment. Explanation: Spanning light-years, this suggestive shape known as the Seahorse Nebula appears in silhouette against a rich, luminous background of stars. Seen toward the royal northern constellation of Cepheus, the dusty, obscuring clouds are part of a Milky Way molecular cloud some 1,200 light-years distant. It is also listed as Barnard 150 (B150), one of 182 dark markings of the sky cataloged in the early 20th century by astronomer E. E. Barnard. Packs of low mass stars are forming within, but their collapsing cores are only visible at long infrared wavelengths. Still, the colorful stars of Cepheus add to this...

[Catholic Caucus] Church Teaching on Trialhe recently published North American Final Document for the Continental Stage of the 2021–2024 Synod (NAFD) confirms suspicions that the discussions at the October 2023 Synod on Synodality will almost certainly center around the alleged failure of the Church to be inclusive, welcoming, and respectful. The supposedly aggrieved include well over half of the faithful: “women, young people, immigrants, racial or linguistic minorities, LGBTQ+ persons, people who are divorced and remarried without an annulment.” Not listed here are faithful Catholics, exiled from their parishes, who prefer to attend the Traditional Latin Mass. Not all grievances...

New research reveals why some children may be slower to learn words than others. A study investigates where toddlers look when they learn new words. It finds that children with larger vocabularies looked quickly towards objects when learning new words. Meanwhile, children who knew fewer words looked back and forth between objects and took more time. Dr. Larissa Samuelson said, "At around two years of age, children start to be quicker to decide what a new word means. We think this is because many of the first words children learn are names for sets of things that are similar in...

While the Biden administration cannot force you to buy an electric car, it can, by capping tailpipe emissions and other coercive measures, compel producers to severely curtail the manufacturing of internal combustion engine (ICE) cars and drive up the cost of gasoline-powered cars. This will likely result in a fundamental restructuring of America’s automotive industry, which accounts for about 3 percent of U.S. GDP and employs more than 1.7 million Americans. The Biden administration’s auto industrial policy features a combination of ever-tightening emissions regulations, subsidies to electric vehicle (EV) auto manufacturers, and government payments to EV consumers. The Infrastructure Law,...
