All wars are like car accidents, and all car accidents have causes. Trouble is, conflicting testimony will often produce different explanations of the cause. The conventional view on the Russo-Ukraine War holds that Russia's invasion constitutes a grave act of injustice, amounting to an open-and-shut case of unprovoked aggression. War guilt rests solely on the shoulders of Russian president Vladimir Putin. "One man chose this war," American secretary of state Antony Blinken has said, "and one man can end it," echoing a widely shared view by foreign policy elites on both sides of the Atlantic. Variations of this version would...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMark 3Jesus Accused by His Family and by Teachers of the Law20 Then Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21 When his family[b] heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”22 And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons.”23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak...

The US military is working on using high-altitude balloons to monitor China and Russia, according to a report by POLITICO. The balloons, capable of flying at up to 90,000 feet (27.4 kilometers), would reportedly become a part of the country’s extensive surveillance network for tracking hypersonic weapons. The development comes amid international concern that Russia and China are ahead of the US in hypersonic missile technology. According to budget documents obtained by the outlet, the US Department of Defense has signaled its intention to move the technology beyond the scientific community to various military services. “High or very high-altitude platforms...

"I give you my word as a Biden" just means that whatever is said next is almost certainly untrue. Installed (p)Resident Joe Biden loves to make promises secured by the supposed worth of his family name. "I give you my word as a Biden," he said back in March of 2020, "When I'm president, I will lead with science, listen to the experts and heed their advice, and always tell you the truth." Again giving his solemn word before the 2020 mail-in ballot presidential selection, he promised both "to turn division into unity and bring us together," as well as...

Published velocities for .22 Long Rifle cartridges are generally available for rifle-length barrels. Finding the velocities for pistol-length barrels is more difficult. Searches on the Internet did not yield results for several subsonic .22 Long Rifle cartridges. This article shows velocities measured from three pistols for five different cartridges. Velocities in a particular barrel length can vary with individual barrels. Some barrels are smoother than others. Even the temperature of the cartridge when the round is fired can make a measurable difference. To see the differences for pistol length barrels, three handguns were used because they were handy and were...

Is there anything liberals can do about Ron DeSantis other than quietly seethe, loudly condemn him every time he makes headlines and hope that his political flaws — his distaste for glad-handing, his less-than-inspiring public-speaking style, his conspicuous unlikability — will take him down before he gets anywhere close to the presidency? It would be tempting to write off DeSantis, the bombastic Republican governor of Florida, as another unelectable right-wing lunatic unfit for national office. We’ve made that mistake before. It’s reliably depressing to revisit 2016 and the misbegotten liberal conviction that America couldn’t possibly elevate Donald Trump to the...

A pervasive agenda spreading through the medical profession at a viral pace is in and of itself a disturbing trend. But it may reveal an even more perilous cultural decay that, if left untreated, could be life-threatening to our republic. The trend is the coercive use of government power that places a bureaucratic thumb on the scale balancing science and politics. The cultural decay is the rejection of God as the source of life and liberty. It took an injunction by a federal district court to partially prevent the Biden administration from using the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act...

"Marty,” a cleaning robot that has been a fixture at Giant Food in Hellertown, Pennsylvania, since 2019, experienced freedom briefly last week when it was able to leave the store. It made it all the way out to the parking lot before being recaptured and redirected.

In 2020, the Air Force conducted a classified war game which showed Communist China launching a biological attack and then invading Taiwan. And we lost. “At that point the trend in our war games was not just that we were losing, but we were losing faster,” Air Force Lt. Gen. S. Clinton Hinote stated. With abysmal readiness rates that have an average of only 7 out of 10 planes operational, and down to 50% for the F-22 stealth fighter, 50% for the CV-22 Osprey and 40% for the B-1 Lancer, the Air Force isn’t even trying to win a possible...

GLENDALE, AZ — The Super Bowl flyover team featuring exclusively female pilots has informed NFL officials that they are running a "little behind." "We'll be right there! Sorry!" radioed pilot Amy Donaldson to an antsy crew at the stadium. "Just make yourselves comfortable!" While television producers expressed dismay at the delay, the pilots promised they were getting ready as fast as possible. "The line for the bathroom is going as fast as it can," assured lead pilot Emily Rawls. "Believe me, we will step on the gas and show everyone some woman power just as soon as we can! Until...

Elon Musk has rejected calls by ex-NASA astronaut Scott Kelly to ramp up his Starlink internet system over Ukraine to aid the armed forces. Kelly tweeted Musk on Saturday saying: 'Ukraine desperately needs your continued support. Defense from a genocidal invasion is not an offensive capability. It's survival. Innocent lives will be lost. You can help. Thank you.' It came after Musk's company restricted Ukraine's military access to Starlink, in particular it being used to control grenade-carrying drones. Musk was quick to respond to Kelly, on Sunday defending his wariness to the increase coverage any further in the country. 'You're...

"I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it" (Phil. 1:6). God always finishes what He starts. All who love Christ desire to be like Him in spiritual perfection and absolute holiness. We want to please Him in every respect. However, that noble pursuit is often met with frustration and discouragement as human frailties and sin block our pathway. Paul's cry in Romans 7 is ours as well: "That which I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I...

Signs of unrest surfaced almost immediately after the team's 38-35 defeat Sunday night - with disgruntled fans swarming City Hall and clashing with cops that had been stationed throughout the city in case of such an outcome. Police scanner audio since 10:30pm suggested police had made multiple arrests, as citizens were seen scaling lampposts, chanting 'f*** the Chiefs', and hurling glass bottles throughout the city's Downtown neighborhood. Footage circulating on social media also shows several residents lighting fireworks, with others egging on armed SWAT teams tasked with keeping the piece. In one shocking clip, a group of Philadelphians are seen...

“Kill them wherever you meet them. If you are a tradesman, use a nail gun to nail the heads and crucify them on woodwork. If you are a truck driver, run over them until their streets are washed with their filthy blood or pour oil on their houses while they are sleeping, and set them on fire so that the message [not to harm Muslims and Islam] will be burned into their heads.”

The president of the Russian republic of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has said his top general in Ukraine has been poisoned after handling an envelope. Kadyrov wrote on his Telegram social media channel that Apti Alaudinov, who commands the Akhmat special forces, had picked up a letter on February 8 that was saturated with a substance with a strong smell. Alaudinov, as well as other personnel who came into contact with the envelope, were treated by medical staff whose actions meant that "serious consequences were avoided," Kadyrov said in his post.

"When Free Russia was formed, I applied, went through some background checks, and ended up here.” The two men now form a mortar crew squaring off against raw Russian troops. “Putin really raised the stakes with mobilization,” Tsezar said. “Earlier, we were fighting against the so-called ‘little green men’ and some Vasya was sitting in Saratov watching television,” he said, using a diminutive of the common Russian first name Vasily. “Now Vasya has to get off his butt and crawl around a cold trench outside of Bakhmut while Tikhy and I fire mortars at him,” he said. “Vasya’s attitude is...
