Francis shocks Barcelona seminarians with sexual expletivesThe case of the Pope’s speech at the December 10 meeting with the Barcelona seminarians is snowballing. Instead of reading the prepared speech published on the Vatican website, Bergoglio allegedly spoke off the cuff, denying (again) the need for repentance in order to grant absolution. According to testimonies collected by Germinans Germinabit, he also used vulgar expressions. It necessitates urgent clarification from the Vatican Press Office. The first to break the news was the Catalan blog Germinans Germinabit, edited by a Barcelona lawyer, very attentive to the facts of the Church, especially the Catalan one,...

Congress is broken. The vision of James Madison enshrined in the U.S. Constitution, the most important document in the world second only to the Bible, has been blurred, distorted, and almost forgotten. Partisanship has eclipsed any thought of working together in the interest of the nation. Party loyalty is sacrosanct and any deviation in either Party is frowned upon and sanctioned. Gone are the days when members of Congress could reach across the aisle to produce legislation founded on common sense rather than sheer Party dogma. 'Negotiation' does not equate with 'capitulation.' But insistence on 'my way or the highway'...

Eversource: On Jan. 1, a residential customer using an average of 600 kWh will see an increase in their bill of approximately 26% compared to December.....The supply portion of your bill, or the cost of electricity (Basic Service), is significantly higher this winter because of record high natural gas prices, which are having the biggest impact on bills. This is especially true in New England where natural gas is used to generate much of the region’s electricity. [see comment]

OPINION: Since former President Donald Trump boldly announced his campaign for the next presidential election in 2024 just two months ago at Mar-a-Lago, the media and the establishment haven’t known exactly what to do. There have been the usual smears and phony “scandals,” there have been predictable attempts by the Republican establishment to blame the GOP’s midterm disappointments on Mr. Trump, and there has been plenty of wishful thinking in the media on how he can’t win again. This is all nonsense. Mr. Trump has the strongest record of anyone running for president in 2024, the best chance of any...
