HARRISBURG — Republicans inside and outside Pennsylvania government say that despite a disastrous midterm election, they don’t see signs that the party is shifting its electoral or governing strategies away from contentious social issues like restricting abortion. Some party insiders say that trend is a bad sign for GOP prospects. After losing marquee races for governor and U.S. Senate, as well as control of the state House (though for now that remains contested), Republicans in Harrisburg, particularly in the lower chamber, have seemed to resume their previous combative agenda with gusto. The week after the election, the House impeached Philadelphia’s...

Elon Musk’s Twitter Truth Squad is exposing the FBI’s role in suppressing free speech before the 2020 election. But the FBI was practically a bit player in a far greater federal conspiracy to censor any American who cast doubts on the mail-in ballots that made Joe Biden the 46th president. That conniving doesn’t mean the 2020 election was stolen. But the bureaucratic racketeering was a travesty of political fair play. The FBI pressured Twitter to target an Oct. 26, 2020, tweet from a former Republican official who wrote that “between 2% and 25% of Ballots by Mail are Being Rejected...

It’s unclear if he’ll have a speaking role, but the newly elected Democrat senator from Pennsylvania John Fetterman is set to make a cameo appearance in a new movie starring Christian Bale. This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the...

U.S. men's national team coach Gregg Berhalter reportedly almost sent midfielder Giovanni Reyna home from the 2022 World Cup due to a lack of effort in practice. Berhalter mentioned he almost sent home a player from the tournament last week. The player in question is Reyna, according to the Athletic. "In this last World Cup, we had a player that was clearly not meeting expectations on and off the field. One of 26 players, so it stood out. As a staff, we sat together for hours deliberating what we were going to do with this player. We were ready to...

A November slowdown in inflation could give consumers relief both from rising prices and rapidly rising interest rates. Consumer price index (CPI) data released Tuesday by the Labor Department still showed inflation near 40-year highs. But a slower pace of price growth may help Americans catch a break from more than a year of rapid inflation, all while giving the Federal Reserve room to hike interest rates at a slower pace. “Cooling inflation will boost the markets and take pressure off the Fed for raising rates, but most importantly this spells real relief starting for Americans whose finances have been...

Is inflation “gone in November”? Nope. Slowing, yes, but at 7.1% YoY and core inflation at 6.0% YoY, it is still considerably higher than The Fed’s target of 2%. And the American middle class and low wage workers are still suffering with REAL average hourly earnings growth at -1.9% YoY. The biggest losers in the inflation report for November? Food at home up 12% YoY, Fuel Oil up 65.7% YoY and “shelter” up 7.1% YoY. I call this the household bundle … of pain. Here are Joe Biden and The Federal Reserve doing a magic tricks by turning a great...

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 7.1% between November 2021 and November 2022, according to a Tuesday report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, showing that inflation has continued to slow amid harsh contractionary policy from the Federal Reserve. The month-to-month increase of 0.1% was below analysts’ forecasts, while core inflation, which factors out the more volatile food and energy categories, rose 0.2%. An increase in food prices of 0.5% and an increase in shelter prices of 0.6% contributed to the headline number as energy prices fell 1.6%. Year-over-year inflation as of November was lower than the previous October reading...

Interesting live stream round table analyst discussion of where the Ukraine war is now and how it is likely to end. These analysts agree that there is not likely to be "big arrow" moves, but rather grinding of Ukraine with slow Russian territorial gains and continued huge Ukrainian casualties. They see no possibility of a negotiated settlement and are particularly critical of Angela Merkle's recent disclosure that the Minsk agreements were always a sham in order to buy time for Ukraine to prepare for war. They believe Russia has come to the conclusion that the West can never be trusted...

President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday put a price on how much is needed for Ukraine to survive the winter, pleading some 800 million euros (U.S.$840+ million) is necessary to help his country survive Russia’s bombing of its civilian infrastructure. The call comes as Moscow has switched tactics since October when it began airstrikes targeting Ukraine’s energy network, plunging millions into cold and darkness at the onset of winter. As AFP reports, Zelensky made the request for more cash donations to help the country’s energy sector at an international conference in Paris, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, designed to raise...

It seems like daily we have someone in the news who dies suddenly from heart related issues by otherwise healthy people. Two soccer reporters at the World Cup and now a prominent College Football Coach, makes you wonder if we will ever get a true and fair study of the negative impact of the vaccines. Prayers go out to his family and the MSU faithful.
