Bahamian authorities have arrested Sam Bankman-Fried, the former CEO of collapsed crypto exchange FTX, after he was indicted on criminal charges.
News of Bankman-Fried's cuffing arrived in a tweet from the Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, at around 7:00PM local time on Monday night.

No information has emerged regarding the charges Bankman-Fried will face, but it appears he will front a US court to defend them.

There are persistent rumors that great gobs of his investors’ moolah went into pols’ private crypto accounts — over and above the millions plowed into candidates’ campaigns and PACs. Keeping him from testifying has become a bipartisan issue.

Exactly. This was to stop the incoming congress from speaking to him. Also they cannot question the FBI or SEC. They will say they cannot component because it’s an ongoing investigation.

Gag orders stop you from talking to the press, but I don’t think they stop you from testifying in another venue.
