French President Emmanuel Macron chastised public utility and energy companies for scaring the public with “absurd scenarios” of potential blackouts this winter. Rather than addressing the underlying reasons contributing to the burgeoning energy crisis in France and indeed across Europe, President Macron called for an out of sight, out of mind approach to potential power cuts this winter. Speaking from an EU-Western Balkans summit in Tirana, Albania on Tuesday, Macron bluntly said “stop all this” in reference to discussions surrounding the energy crisis. The French president said that institutions such as the publicly-owned Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE) energy utility...

I’m please to report he’s still well at 101. I visited him a few weeks ago, and will see this great man again this weekend. Since 2017 I’ve posted here each year my son’s 2017 Eagle Scout Project video biography of Mr Conter. In honor of him and all those who fell, and those who lived to fight on to victory, I present it again now. https://youtu.be/T_L0kWTqPiA

The pandemic transformed the landscape of K-12 education. Some parents withdrew their kids from public school and placed them into private or home schools. Their reasons varied: Many preferred private schools that offered in-person instruction; others distrusted public schools’ pandemic precautions. It’s not clear whether those trends will stick, and the factors are complex. So far, data show that since 2019, private enrollment is up, public enrollment is down and home schooling has become more popular. Families flocked to private and home schools at the greatest rate in a decade, according to American Community Survey estimates from the U.S. Census....

Rep. Lee Zeldin (D-N.Y.) announced on Wednesday that he will not challenge Ronna McDaniel for the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) top spot but urged the three-time chairwoman to step aside. “Change is desperately needed, and there are many leaders, myself included, ready and willing to step up to ensure our party retools and transforms as critical elections fast approach,” Zeldin said in a statement. “However, the issue is Chairwoman McDaniel’s re-election appears to already be pre-baked, as if the disappointing results of every election during her tenure, including yesterday in Georgia, do not and should not even matter,” he added.

Louisiana and Missouri on Monday released the entirety of the November 23, 2022, deposition of Dr. Anthony Fauci as part of the lawsuit against the Biden administration and federal government, which Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry (R) said confirms that “federal bureaucrats in collusion with social media companies want to control not only what you think, but especially what you say.”The lawsuit focused on allegations of federal officials colluding with social media companies to censor speech, and Fauci’s deposition, Landry explained, shows that “social engineering tactics were used against the American public, not to limit your exposure to a virus,...

Matt Taibbi, who authored the first release of the infamous “Twitter Files,” is back for round two. Or at least he’s back to provide a supplement to round one while round two is still being worked on. According to Taibbi, James Baker, who was general counsel for Twitter and a former top-level FBI official, inserted himself into the disclosure in an attempt to “vet” the files that were ultimately released. Elon Musk was not notified of Baker playing middle-man. As RedState reported, Baker was fired on Tuesday, and with Taibbi’s latest thread, we now know why. I normally try to...

During CNN’s coverage of the Georgia Senate runoff on Tuesday, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) reacted to Sen. Raphael Warnock’s (D-GA) victory in the runoff by stating the Warnock win was because “the state saw through whatever political lens they had” or “everything everyone’s been through with COVID and inflation all over the world. And they said, you know what, I believe Raphael Warnock is going to have my back and he’s going to help our country and he’s the right guy in terms of our democracy.” Klobuchar said, “A lot of this has to do with Donald Trump, I agree....

The Twitter Files reveal the left will win at any costElon Musk made good on his promise to increase transparency by releasing Twitter’s internal communications surrounding the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story leading up to the 2020 election. The documentation, laid out in a detailed thread by Substack journalist Matt Taibbi on Friday evening, revealed what almost anyone who had been paying attention suspected: that the social media giant colluded to suppress a legitimate news story to impact the 2020 election.
