Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump · 4h It’s Mitch McConnell’s fault. Spending money to defeat great Republican candidates instead of backing Blake Masters and others was a big mistake. Giving 4 Trillion Dollars to the Radical Left for the Green New Deal, not Infrastructure, was an even bigger mistake. He blew the Midterms, and everyone despises him and his otherwise lovely wife, Coco Chow!

The Miss Israel beauty contest will not be held this year, ending a run of annual competitions that started in 1950. As a result, Israel will not be sending a contestant to the international Miss Universe contest to be held January in the US. In recent years the pageant has faced criticism for judging women on their physical appearance.

MADISON, Wis. — Utility bills for more than 150,000 customers in south-central Wisconsin are about to increase. Madison Gas and Electric is increasing rates by about 9% in January, which will result in customers paying about $8.20 more per month. The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin approved the price hike Thursday night while also approving MG&E’s request to purchase part of Alliant Energy’s West Riverside Energy Center natural gas plant in Beloit. The move toward clean energy also includes a solar and wind farm. However, the cost of those initiatives has been increased by pandemic- and supply chain-related issues. “This...

Sen. Ron Johnson criticized top Senate Republicans Sunday in the wake of the party failing to retake control of the chamber and suggested the conference should elect different members to leadership posts. The Wisconsin Republican, who narrowly won reelection against his Democratic challenger, blamed leadership for sowing “dysfunction” by failing to have a unified message and working with Democrats at times to pass bipartisan legislation. “We need to do a real assessment of what went wrong. The last two years, we had … a number of our colleagues join Democrats spending like drunken sailors,” he said on Fox News’ “Sunday...

I bought two of them right after I recorded this. One will be smoked and the other cooked via sous vide. Therefore we will have TWO turkeys for Thanksgiving. The money I saved by buying these turkeys will be invested in alcoholic drinks for the holiday.

Florida proved an outlier state for the Republican Party on Tuesday. While GOP candidates—particularly those with far-right platforms—underperformed to expectations nationally, Florida Republicans turned out at much higher rates than Democrats, allowing the GOP to dominate the state. In Manatee County, the overall turnout was 62 percent. Turnout for registered Republicans, however, was a whopping 72 percent. Meanwhile, Democratic turnout was only 59 percent, while NPA and third-party voters turned out at just 47 percent. Statewide, Republicans turned out at 64 percent, while Democrats turned out at just 50 percent. Republicans now hold a majority of registered voters in Florida...

Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin (MD) joined CBS’s “Face the Nation” to discuss the midterm elections with host Margaret Brennan. By Sunday morning CNN showed the Democrats gained another seat on Saturday while the GOP stayed at 211. Rep. Raskin discussed Kevin McCarthy, the Freedom Caucus and the Republican leadership moving forward. Raskin said Republicans in the Freedom Caucus are looking for new leadership and could vote for Trump to be...

The “crypto winter” that hit earlier this year walloped digital asset prices and served as a healthy reminder that cryptocurrencies are highly risky, volatile investments. But now, in the wake of crypto exchange FTX’s implosion, crypto investors were reminded of another risk they face: Crypto accounts lack guaranteed protections when the exchange or platform provider goes belly up. Traditional savings and investment accounts can never be 100% safe in the event an institution becomes insolvent, either. But most banks and brokerages, as well as 401(k) plans, do provide federally guaranteed protections and other insurance. Crypto custodial accounts, however, do not...

In many places, searching the web is a gateway to a wider world of information, but in Russia, it is part of a system that helps trap people in an alternative reality. Shortly after 20 people were killed in a Russian missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk in June, Lev Gershenzon - a former manager at Russian tech company Yandex - typed the city's name into its search engine to find out more. The results he got back shocked him. "The sources that ranked at the top of the page were strange and obscure," he told the BBC....

Crypto.com just admitted to making another very large and concerning clerical error: it mistakenly sent 320,000 in Ethereum (~$416 million USD) to another cryptocurrency exchange, called Gate.io, about three weeks ago (via Web3 Is Going Just Great). In a post on Twitter, Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek says the company was supposed to send the crypto to one of its cold, or offline, wallets, but accidentally sent it to a “whitelisted” address belonging to its corporate account at Gate.io. [competitor] Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao appeared to allude to the situation in a tweet on Sunday morning, stating: “If an exchange...
