It sounds like something out of an action film – a husband-and-wife scientist duo make a potentially life-changing breakthrough. Yet it’s a reality for physicians Uğur Şahin and Özlem Türeci, the married couple responsible for the development of the 90 per cent effective, experimental Covid-19 vaccine. News broke on 9 November that the pursuit of a vaccine had taken a significant step forward, after pharma companies Pfizer and BioNTech stated that their experimental jab is effective in nine out of 10 cases. The announcement has been hailed as a sign of hope amid the pandemic, with Prime Minister Boris Johnson...

China told state-owned natural gas importers like Sinopec and CNOOC to halt LNG sales to Europe, per Bloomberg. The order to halt resales comes as Beijing looks to protect domestic gas supplies for the winter. China has been a crucial supplier of gas to Europe as the region faces a Russia-driven energy crisis. Beijing has reportedly told state-owned natural gas importers to halt resales of cargoes to buyers in Europe and Asia, to make sure China has enough supply for domestic needs this winter. The National Development and Reform Commission has spoken to Chinese energy giants PetroChina, Sinopec and CNOOC...

Police officers in Northern California believe they prevented another murder after arresting a ‘potential serial killer’ Saturday suspected of murdering six men and wounding a woman over the last 18 months in a string of late-night shootings. Wesley Brownlee, 43, of Stockton, was arrested on homicide allegations, according to Stockton Police Department officials. During a news conference, Stockton Police Chief Stanley McFadden said officers arrested Brownlee in two parts: community tips and “good old-fashioned police work.” “Based on tips coming to the department’s Stockton Crimestoppers, were we able to zero in on a possible suspect,” McFadden said. “Our surveillance team...

(While the technology may be dated, the human psychology discussed is alive and well all over the world) IN MAKING THIS STATEMENT - which I do of my own free will - I wish first to make it perfectly clear that I am not in any way trying to gain sympathy, nor do I expect any mitigation of whatever sentence the Court may pronounce. I am writing this in an attempt to refute some of the lying reports broadcast over the prison radio and published in the papers I have been allowed to see. These have given an entirely false...

“I don’t think Donald Trump should run again,” O’Dea said in an interview Sunday on CNN’s "State of the Union." “I’m going to actively campaign against Donald Trump and make sure that we’ve got four or five really great Republicans right now.” Among those mentioned as potential 2024 GOP presidential candidates are former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.According to O'Dea, he believes such candidates will be able to be president longer than one term.“They can run and serve for eight years,” he said. “I’m going to do my job as a U.S. senator to make...

A Wake County judge ruled Thursday in favor of the Republican National Committee (RNC) against the North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBE) and its unlawful restrictions on partisan poll watchers. Back in September, the RNC and the North Carolina GOP sued the NCBOE for its illegal regulations restricting party observers. Such restrictions prevent the GOP from replacing “at-large” election observers at any time, requiring observers to serve at least four hours at a polling location before a new volunteer could take their place.Attorneys for the RNC said such a regulation was “unfair” since it would stop them from replacing...

Reasonable People Won't Launch War: One of the Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO’s Twitter followers on Friday quote-tweeted a Reuters story on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) starting nuclear drills with B-52 bombers on Monday. Responding to him via tweet, Musk suggested no reasonable person would launch a nuclear war. Russia has the ability to destroy USA & Europe utterly with nuclear missiles in less than 30 minutes & vice versa. A surprising number of people don’t know this. Of course, it would be MAD to use them, but it is also MAD to be in this situation at all.

The socialist city councilwoman who led the efforts to defund and demonize the Seattle Police Department is again asking for special treatment. City councilwoman Kshama Sawant’s condo has reportedly been defaced with feces at least four times this month. The last incident, on Oct. 13, is being investigated as a political or racial bias incident. It’s unclear if the genesis of the feces is human or animal. Now, Sawant is demanding the SPD to post officers outside her home from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. until the suspect is arrested, according to multiple sources speaking to the Jason Rantz Show...

It is not possible to understand China without understanding race and racism. Specifically, without understanding whiteness. Yet far too often the conversation around the rise of this new superpower is in predominantly geo-political terms, about authoritarianism versus democracy, about human rights — or whether we will go to war. But race sits at the heart of it all. We were reminded this week when China described the AUKUS agreement — between Australia, the UK and the US – as a race-based military bloc of white countries. China's Ambassador to Australia, Xiao Qian, says that's how it appears to people in...

A Trafalgar Group poll this past weekend revealed that a Republican candidate leads a Democrat candidate by 5.3 percentage points on the generic congressional ballot. The poll found that of the 1,079 likely general election voter respondents, 48.2 percent would vote for the generic Republican candidate, while 42.9 percent would vote for the Democrat candidate. Additionally, less than a month before the election, only 8.9 percent said they were undecided.

The FBI has arrested and charged four pro-life activists after a March 2021 “abortion rescue” event at an abortion clinic in Tennessee. It is not shocking to see the Department of Justice use the strong arm of the law to harass pro-life supporters while ignoring the literal fire-bombing of pro-life pregnancy centers and a wave of vandalism against said centers in the wake of the SCOTUS decision to scrap Roe v. Wade. What is shocking, however, is that one of those activists is an 87-year-old concentration camp survivor. Live Action reports that activist Eva Edl has been fighting for...

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the face of the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic over the last two-and-a-half years, deflected responsibility for school closures in an interview on Sunday while admitting to some negative effects for children. The head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who is stepping down in December after five decades in the role, was asked by ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl whether it was a “mistake” for schools to be closed down as long as they were. “I don’t want to use the word ‘mistake,’ Jon, because if I do, it gets taken out...

Grid officials warn of strain as the region competes with European countries for shipments of liquefied natural gasNew England power producers are preparing for potential strain on the grid this winter as a surge in natural-gas demand abroad threatens to reduce supplies they need to generate electricity. New England, which relies on natural-gas imports to bridge winter supply gaps, is now competing with European countries for shipments of liquefied natural gas, following Russia’s halt of most pipeline gas to the continent. Severe cold spells in the Northeast could reduce the amount of gas available to generate electricity as more of...

The same Germany that took in over a million Muslim migrants in 2015, and ten thousand non-vetted Afghans in 2021—all people who, by definition, could not be experiencing religious persecution back home as they themselves were Muslim—has refused asylum to a Muslim convert to Christianity, even though one of his relatives was tortured and murdered for the same “crime” of apostasy in his native Iran.Going under the pseudonym of “Hassan” to protect his identity, the 44-year-old applied for asylum in Germany in 2018. The authorities rejected his testimony on their belief that no one would convert to Christianity after seeing...

Jill Biden was loudly booed at the Eagles vs Cowboys game Sunday night at the Lincoln Financial Field in her home town of Philadelphia (she was born in Jersey and grew up in Philly). Biden was designated the honorary captain for the night and was standing at midfield during the coin toss when they flashed her picture on the big screen. That’s when the booing erupted and let her have it. It must have been pretty substantial from what the people were saying. It appears the video of Jill Biden getting booed has been scrubbed from the networks so our...
