JEFFREY SACHS: I was attacked in The Atlantic for being on the side of peace. And I confess, I'm on the side of peace. I'm very worried we are on the path of escalation to nuclear war, nothing less than that. Russia feels that this war is at the core of its security interests. The United States insists it will do anything to support Ukraine's defeat of Russia. Russia views this as a proxy war with the United States. Whatever one thinks about this, this is the path of extraordinary, dangerous escalation. And I am very fearful. A lot of...

Weather at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station's Launch Complex 41, where a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket is nearly ready to fly with two communications satellites, is expected to be 70% "go" for liftoff on Tuesday, Oct. 4. Launch is set for 5:36 p.m. EDT. Atlas V will take two commercial communications payloads to orbit for SES, a Luxembourg-based satellite operator. They are labeled SES-20 and SES-21. The Bible In Paintings 2 ENCOURAGEMENT FOR APPRECIATING AND APPLYING GOD'S WORD MARY'S "MAGNIFICAT" PRAISES GOD L U K E CHAPTER 1 At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and ELIZABETH WAS FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come...

A grateful Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) on Monday welcomed liberal Democrats joining her public crusade against Donald Trump, revealing she is “not choosy these days” about where her supporters come from as long as they share her contempt for the previous president and the “sick” Republican party behind him. The Hill reports her revelation came during a question and answer session at Syracuse University when Provost Gretchen Ritter asked Cheney, “As a lifelong Republican, how painful is it to have liberal Democrats in your fan club now?

1.) How did the Universe begin? What “type” of inflation occurred? What preceded and/or caused inflation? 2.) What explains neutrino mass? Are neutrinos Dirac or Majorana particles? Are there heavy, sterile neutrino species? 3.) Why is our Universe matter-dominated? More matter than antimatter permeates the Universe. 4.) What is dark matter? Its effects are understood, not its underlying cause. 5.) What is dark energy? Its properties indicate a constant, positive spatial energy density.

Cook County’s chief judge and sheriff are asking a county judge to toss a lawsuit that seeks to hold them responsible for the murder of 73-year-old Keith Cooper, whom prosecutors say was killed by two men who were on electronic monitoring in Chicago. Attorneys for Cooper’s estate based the claim on the same general grounds as a similar suit filed weeks earlier on behalf of another murder victim’s estate: Cook County is putting potentially violent people on home confinement without adequately monitoring them. Attorneys representing Chief Judge Timothy Evans and Sheriff Tom Dart argued that the officials don’t have a...

Muriel Bowser, the mayor of Washington, D.C., joined other city officials on Monday in announcing a new goal to make 20,000 additional black D.C. residents homeowners by 2030. The plan, developed by the Black Homeownership Strike Force, comes with ten recommendations, including help with down payments, financial assistance for home repairs, and foreclosure avoidance, among others. "This goal is a first step in undoing the lasting legacy of discriminatory housing laws that locked many Black families out of homeownership throughout the twentieth century,” Mayor Bowser said in a news release. “This is about helping 20,000 Washingtonians buy homes, but it...

The solar flare, a powerful X1 (the mildest form of the strongest category of flares) erupted from the sun on Sunday at 3:53 p.m. EDT (1953 GMT) and peaked about 30 minutes later. Since solar flares travel at the speed of light, the burst of electromagnetic radiation caused an immediate radio blackout up to an hour long on the sun-facing side of the planet. The affected region included the whole of the U.S., according to the SpaceWeatherWatch(opens in new tab). The radio blackout, classed by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as a strong R3 category, likely affected...

In the aftermath of a widely-panned speech by Joe Biden declaring all Trump supporters to be a “threat ot democracy,” conservatives across the country have been the victims of political violence, with some instances turning deadly. As reported by Fox News, the most infamous example to date took place in North Dakota, where an 18-year-old Trump supporter, Cayler Ellingson, was murdered by a 41-year-old man, Shannon Brandt, due to Ellingson’s political beliefs; Brandt ran the teenager over with his SUV and then fled the scene, later confessing to the crime to police but falsely claiming that Ellingson was part of...

The American Medical Association (AMA) sent Attorney General Merrick Garland a letter Monday calling on him to “investigate the organizations, individuals, and entities coordinating, provoking, and carrying out bomb threats and threats of personal violence against children’s hospitals and physicians across the U.S.” “The attacks are rooted in an intentional campaign of disinformation, where a few high-profile users on social media share false and misleading information targeting individual physicians and hospitals, resulting in a rapid escalation of threats, harassment, and disruption of care across multiple jurisdictions,” the AMA, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Children’s Hospital Association (CHA)...

Consider, for example, the Japanese stone circles from Ōyu and Isedotai in northern Japan. While not the imposing monoliths of Stonehenge, the two circles, made of thousands of smooth river stones, line up with the sun during the summer and winter solstices, and they were both used in burial rites. And for both monuments, collecting materials and completing construction would have taken enormous community effort. The similarities could also be related to topography: Japan and the United Kingdom are along the same latitude, sharing a similar climate and access to natural resources. But while the Neolithic people living near Stonehenge...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMatthew 6 Prayer 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be...

The Big Apple will relocate — and downsize — its first tent city for migrants from the Bronx to Randall’s Island due to flooding issues, according to City Hall. The city has ditched the already-under construction site on Orchard Beach that would have housed 1,000 migrants and will instead erect tents to accompany half that number on Randall’s Island, Mayor Adams said in a Monday night statement. The move was prompted by flooding at the Bronx site following this weekend’s rain storms. The cost of flood mitigation efforts would be more expensive than the cost of relocation, a City Hall...

The New York Times published a report in late September targeting Hasidic Yeshivas — alleging students “[know] nothing” and grow up “barely [able] to support their own families” — coinciding with a Board of Regents vote to regulate their religious education. However, Breitbart News has learned that the Times omitted relevant information, shunned sources directly involved with the schools, and declined to publish pertinent on-the-record statements, in pursuing the story — resulting in a funhouse mirror hit piece, pressuring the board’s unanimous vote to force state edicts on the religious schools.Breitbart News has learned the Times did not establish communication...

Sara was fed up. The New York City social worker, who declined to give her last name, had had countless dates cancel on her at the last minute. So, when a man she met on an app recently pulled out of their date an hour beforehand, she agreed to reschedule with one caveat: He would Venmo her a $50 deposit. “I’m just done with my time and energy being wasted,” Sara told The Post. “In almost every other scenario, when someone books a time of their day dedicated to you, they have a no-show policy or security deposit.” The man...
