The Bible In Paintings 2 ENCOURAGEMENT FOR APPRECIATING AND APPLYING GOD'S WORD GABRIEL'S AMAZING NEWS FOR MARY L U K E CHAPTER 1 In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her,...

If a week is a long time in politics, 24-hours can seem like an eternity, especially when a White House administration is confused by basic historical facts. U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris amply illustrated this Thursday when she ended her four-day trip to Asia with a journey to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) dividing the Korean Peninsula. During the stop she confused onlooks by asserting the United States has a “strong alliance” with “the Republic of North Korea.”

A Democrat former congressman has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for election fraud charges. The judge threw the book at a corrupt former Rep. Michael “Ozzie” Myers (D-PA), jailing the 79-year-old Philadelphia politician for multiple voter fraud felonies. Myers was sentenced to 30 months in prison, with three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $100,000 in fines. $10,000 of the fine was due immediately. United States District Court Judge Paul S. Diamond threw the book at Myers after the disgraced Democrat plead guilty to conspiracy to deprive voters of civil rights, bribery, obstruction of justice, falsification...

The European Union's Frontex border control agency said 66,000 Russians have entered the EU in the past week. This represents a 30% increase compared with the previous week, according to the agency. It said that most of the crossings were occurring at the Finnish and Estonian sections of the border. According to Frontex, most arrivals had visas, residence permits or dual citizenship. Frontex predicted that illegal border crossings could increase if the Kremlin decides to close Russia's borders for potential conscripts. Thousands of military-age men have been leaving Russia since President Vladimir Putin announced a "partial" mobilization last week.

Republican Mehmet Oz has further put himself within striking distance of his Democrat opponent in the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate race, with the latest Fox News poll showing he trails by just four points. Surveying 1,008 registered Pennsylvania voters between September 22-26 with a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points, the new poll puts Fetterman at 45 percent while Oz stands at 41 percent, a full four points within the sampling error and a tremendous surge for Oz, who trailed Fetterman by 11 points in late July. Neither candidate enjoys majority support, with the three percent going...

At this point, one almost has to admire the denial on display in Moscow. Having held absurdly cooked referenda in parts of Ukraine no longer fully in Russian control with absurdly cooked results, Vladimir Putin will hold an equally absurd annexation ceremony tomorrow. Putin will officially claim sovereignty over four areas in which the Ukrainian army is presently pushing Russian troops out: (snip) What is the popular definition of insanity again? Putin has been trying to split the West from Ukraine, and/or split the West generally over the war, ever since he launched it. Instead, the US-EU alliance has gotten...

Hello tinnitus, my old friend You've come to sing to me again I hear the sound of dentists drilling Of sinks of water over-filling And the sound is ringing in my brain It will remain It is the sound of tinnitus In restless dreams, I hear the tone I know I’ll never be alone You’re always there when I wake up You say we never will break up When I lay down my head to sleep at night After I turn out the light I miss the sound of silence They say they’re searching for a cure Ten thousand doctors,...

The results of Italy's general election could alter the balance of power within the EU, with far-right, eurosceptic parties set to helm the next government in Rome. Italy is making something of a U-turn from Mario Draghi’s premiership, which put Italy back in the driving seat of Europe and bolstered the influence of a country accustomed to punching below its weight. ADVERTISING Draghi sent out a warning to the right-wing coalition poised to succeed him at the helm of the EU’s third-largest economy as he wrapped up his last press conference, a week before Italy’s election. “We have a certain...

After the death of Queen Elizabeth and the reunion of the "Fab Four," Prince Harry, Prince William, Meghan Markle, and Kate Middleton, many people were hoping that the brothers and their wives would be able to work out their differences once and for all. However, according to reports, Meghan and Harry returned home to Montecito without mending their relationship with the rest of the family. While Harry confirmed on numerous occasions he and his brother are estranged, it has never been established exactly why the two, who were once very close, stopped talking in the first place. However, a new...

NATO on Thursday said leaks from the Nord Stream gas pipelines appeared to be sabotage and vowed a “determined response” to any attacks on critical infrastructure.“All currently available information indicates that this is the result of deliberate, reckless and irresponsible acts of sabotage,” the Western military alliance said in a statement.“These leaks are causing risks to shipping and substantial environmental damage. WASHINGTON, Sunday, Sept. 28. Statements are rife that the rebel army is still on the south bank of the Potomac. The most reliable information, however, shows the bulk of their force to be at Winchester, which is designed to be both a base and a nucleus of operations. It is highly probable that sufficient troops are left near the Potomac to defend the fords and ferries, and to create the impression that the bulk of their army is still there. They undoubtedly wish to detain Gen. MCCLELLAN's army on the north bank of the river, fearing that some movement will...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMatthew 5 Oaths 33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ 34 But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37 All you...

The only people who Donald Trump drives crazier than his enemies are his friends. We like Trump. We appreciate Trump’s largely remarkable record of achievements – remember how your 401k used to go up instead of plummeting into the earth? We even enjoy his mean tweets. But then he does something that is so obviously self-destructive and, moreover, something that has burned him before, and we want to rip our hair out and shriek like that tubby mutant in the raincoat who got on her knees as Trump’s inauguration was announced and howled “NOOOOOOOOO!” Okay, why the hell does he...

Legendary investor Stanley Druckenmiller sees the Federal Reserve triggering a recession with its inflation fighting policy and warns that financial markets could stagnate for a decade as a result. "I will be stunned if we don’t have recession in ’23," Druckenmiller said Wednesday at CNBC’s Delivering Alpha Investor Summit in New York. "I don’t know the timing but certainly by the end of ’23. I don’t rule out something really bad." Druckenmiller, who runs Duquense Family Office, a wealth manager with more than $1.3 billion of assets under management, pointed to the extraordinary quantitative easing and zero interest rates over...

The Bank of England took emergency action on Wednesday to avoid a meltdown in the UK pensions sector, unleashing a £65bn bond-buying programme to stem a crisis in government debt markets. In a nutshell what happened is that a whole lot of UK pensions (technically called liability-driven investment, or LDI funds) failed to appropriately hedge their rate risk - despite it being telegraphed months in advance - and got margin called on billions in gilt securities, forcing them to sell treasuries into a thin market that suddenly froze and turned bidless, creating a "death spiral", and then realizing they were...

Decision Desk HQ certainly gives a lot of weight to the power of the incumbency. In July, I covered how they regarded Sen. Ron Johnson's (R-WI) race to be "Solid Republican" at the time, despite Johnson being considered something of a vulnerable incumbent. Now that Johnson has his Democratic challenger, Mandela Barnes, and polling has shown a close race, the race has changed slightly to "Likely Republican," but Johnson still has a 93.5 percent chance of winning. Such a backdrop is crucial when it comes to Decision Desk HQ's recent update on the U.S. Senate race out of Nevada, where...
