The WHO’s Africa office said in a statement the case was confirmed after testing a sample from a 24-year-old man in the country’s Mubende district. Ugandan health authorities investigated six suspicious deaths in the district this month. A photo of longtime "Wheel of Fortune" host Pat Sajak with Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has surfaced, and people on Twitter are fuming. The picture, apparently captured earlier this month, went viral on Twitter after it was re-shared by a Twitter account described as "exposing right-wing extremism and other threats to democracy." One user wrote, "Pictured: Pat Sajak and Vanna Whitesupremacist," referencing Sajak's "Wheel of Fortune" co-host, Vanna White, while another tweeted, "Pat Sajak has always been a far-right lunatic I’m not surprised at all." Additionally, members of academia and a former political candidate for office offered their take...

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has reportedly changed his mind on Republican chances of retaking control of the Senate in the midterm elections. Previously in doubt that Sen. Rick Scott’s (R-FL) plan at the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) would yield positive results, McConnell was cautiously optimistic Republicans will gain the majority, the Chamber of Commerce told Axios. McConnell attended a closed-door meeting on Monday at the chamber, where he said Republicans’ chances of retaking the Senate have improved. McConnell has previously claimed it was more likely Republicans would retake the House than the Senate. McConnell’s words are notable because he...

During the "humanitarian crisis" that immediately developed when 50 illegal aliens showed up in the exclusive, mostly Democratic enclave of multi-million-dollar seasonal mansions, a question arose in my mind.

Why would anyone be surprised that the exclusivists – Our other home is in the Tribeca or Upper East Side or Battery Park section of New York – got upset when illegal aliens without DEWALT 20V MAX* XR Leaf Blowers or household staff uniforms showed up in their neighborhoods? They're not welcome as pool cleaners; after all, we can’t have illegals looking at the mothers and daughters wearing bikinis.

Israeli archaeologists on Sunday announced the "once-in-a-lifetime" discovery of a burial cave from the time of ancient Egyptian Pharaoh Rameses II, filled with dozens of pottery pieces and bronze artifacts. The cave was uncovered on a beach Tuesday, when a mechanical digger working at the Palmahim national park hit its roof, with archaeologists using a ladder to descend into the spacious, man-made square cave. In a video released by the Israel Antiquities Authority, gobsmacked archaeologists shine flashlights on dozens of pottery vessels in a variety of forms and sizes, dating back to the reign of the ancient Egyptian king who...

MADISON, Wis. — A captain in the La Crosse County Sheriff’s Department who was included in a press release of law enforcement officials endorsing Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Mandela Barnes says he made no such endorsement. Capt. John Siegel, who is also running as a Democrat for La Crosse County Sheriff, said he found out Friday that his name was among the list of endorsers. “I called immediately — whoever I could get a hold of, and finally got a hold of somebody operating their campaign and said, ‘Hey, I didn’t ever agree to put my name on anything or...

Ron DeSantis has furiously slapped down a Texas sheriff who launched a criminal investigation into his flying 50 Venezuelan migrants to Martha's Vineyard. The Florida governor pointed out the hypocrisy of Democratic Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar for probing him when it was in his jurisdiction where 50 migrants died in a trailer-tractor over the summer. He challenged fellow politicians and voters to find similar levels of outrage at that shocking incident - as well as huge numbers of migrants drowning in the Rio Grande - as what he has been facing for his stunt.

Left wingers are going to be furious at him for this, but this is also interesting because less than a month ago he justified canceling a trillion dollars in student loans by citing his covid emergency powers," OutKick founder Clay Travis tweeted late Sunday. Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., offered a similar critique, writing, "If ‘the pandemic is over’ as Biden says, then all of the President's emergency powers predicated on a pandemic, all COVID vax mandates, the emergency powers of every governor, Emergency Use Authorizations, and the PREP act should all be voided tomorrow." Dr. Lucky Tran, a science communicator...

Democrats are pumping an unprecedented amount of money into advertising related to abortion rights, underscoring how central the message is to the party in the final weeks before the November midterm elections. With the most intense period of campaigning only just beginning, Democrats have already invested more than an estimated $124 million this year in television advertising referencing abortion. That’s more than twice as much money as the Democrats’ next top issue this year, “character,” and almost 20 times more than Democrats spent on abortion-related ads in the 2018 midterms. The estimated spending figures, based on an Associated Press analysis...

Bell, 32, died last month after going missing in the Tucson area. He went missing Aug. 20 and his body was found six days later. Bell was found in Tucson by passersby, unresponsive in a shaded parking structure, according to an autopsy report from the Pima County Medical Examiner’s office. There were attempts to resuscitate him, the report says, citing markings on Bell’s body from defibrillators, endotracheal tubes and chest compressions. Other than those markings, Bell showed no signs of...

During the September 18 airing of CBS News’s 60 Minutes, President Joe Biden described the continued sale of semiautomatic weapons as “bizarre.” Scott Pelley conducted a wide-ranging interview with Biden, but when it turned to guns and gun policy, Biden pledged once again to ban “assault weapons.” Biden suggested that “there is no rationale” for owning firearms like AR-15s, AK-47s, etc. He talked of visiting Uvalde, Texas, after the May 24, 2022, school shooting, saying he not only visited there but “every one of those places.” Biden observed, “The NRA continuing to push the sale of assault and semiautomatic weapons...

If you walk past the Wyoming Republican Party’s tent these days, beware. You may have to dodge members being thrown out of the three-ring circus. On Saturday, the party’s overachieving central committee censured Sen. Cale Case of Lander, denied support to Republicans running as independents in November and condemned the actions of a legislative committee and 10 GOP lawmakers. The state party told Case, a Republican lawmaker for the past 30 years, to join a different party or run as an independent. Karl Allred of Uinta County bluntly delivered a similar message to Republicans who plan to challenge GOP primary...

The London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) is the world’s largest silver exchange. For the last nine consecutive months, the quantity of silver held in LBMA vaults have declined. The August 2022 report states that the vaults now hold only 916.5 million ounces of silver, the lowest total since July 2016. In November 2021, the LBMA vaults held 1.170.6 billion ounces of silver. For first time since the end of the Second World War, continental Europe is facing shortages: of food and, crucially, of energy. During the war, as the tide inexorably turned against National Socialist Germany after the disastrous battle of Stalingrad in 1943, the Third Reich was ground to powder by the Stalinist U.S.S.R. and the Western allies, principally the United States, with some help from a reeling Great Britain. The brutal winter of 1944-45 saw the Germans reduced to salvaging firewood from the wreckage of their principal cities and eating the animals in the zoos in order to survive. Germany...
