In Liz Cheneyâs world, sheâs the only one whose opinion matters â to the point where any competing points of view are not only discounted, but purposely suppressed and ignored. This is why all her preening over her self-described work to âprotect the Constitutionâ is landing with a loud thud in Wyoming. Our voters are smart enough to see what sheâs up to, and protecting the Constitution isnât it.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s (ELCA) top bishop has formally apologized on behalf of the denomination to a delegation from a Spanish-speaking “Latine” congregation whose pastor was abruptly fired last year by a transgender bishop. “This is an opportunity to remind ourselves of all of the anti-racist commitments and apologies we have made as a church and to offer a public recommitment to become an anti-racist church,” Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton told voting members at the denomination’s Churchwide Assembly in Columbus, Ohio. The August 8-12 Assembly included a series of apologies for systemic racism as well as for mistreatment...

Pro-life campaigners and advocates for religious freedom in Ireland have expressed dismay following the news that the Irish Government intends to introduce fines and prison sentences for people who pray, hold signs, or try to persuade women not to have abortions while they are within the vicinity of an abortion facility. The proposed legislation would mean that individuals would not be allowed to express pro-life views within 100m of abortion facilities while also prohibiting silent prayer, the holding of placards, and any peaceful offers of alternatives to abortion. Pro-life activists have reacted by highlighting that there is no evidence that...

1. Could it be that WI Judge Gableman who constructed the damning election integrity report for Speaker Robin Vos, and who is now fired by Robin Vos, is in possession of the granular "how to" report/manual to assist Vos' challenger, Adam Steen. RINO Vos thought that Gableman would merely produce the "appearance" of an investigation. Instead, Gableman produced "the goods". I cannot see that Steen has conceded the election, won by only 256 votes. Perhaps Vos has created a trap of his own making. Gableman came out publicly in support of Steen in order to defeat Vos. Perhaps Steen will...

[Catholic Caucus] The Pastoral Care of the Dicastery for Divine Worship towards the Traditional Faithful Cross-posted from LMSChairman.orgIt has become clear that the Dicastery of Divine Worship, which alone has the authority to permit priests ordained after Traditionis custodes to celebrate the Traditional Mass, is systematically refusing to do so, even though requests are coming not from individual priests, but their bishops. What reasons are being given? I have been given sight of a letter of refusal, and I suspect the others are substantially identical.…this Dicastery is of the opinion that this [permission] would not be an opportune decision. Therefore,...

Joe Biden's open borders policies have turned Mexico into a war zone. Less than 20 miles away from where I'm writing this in San Diego, the next city over is exploding into some kind of Ukraine-like hellscape. According to local station CBS8: TIJUANA, Baja California — The United States Consulate General in Tijuana is instructing employees to shelter in place after unrest in the region began on Friday. The U.S. consulate is warning government employees near Tijuana, Mexicali, Rosarito, Ensenada, Tecate to shelter in place until further notice due to vehicle fires, roadblocks and heavy police activity. U.S. citizens are...

Republicans are coming under fire for their rhetoric over $80 billion in funding for the IRS included a massive climate, tax and health care bill that Democrats in Congress are sending to the White House. The funding, over 10 years, is intended to help the IRS enforce various provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act, which would raise more than $700 billion in new revenue by instituting a 15-percent corporate minimum tax, taxing stock buy backs and extending a cap on deductions for business losses, in addition to helping the IRS enforce existing tax law. Of the $80 billion, more than...

Wyoming GOP Rep. Liz Cheney’s husband is a partner at the law firm now representing Hunter Biden. Philip Perry has worked at Latham & Watkins since 2007, and focuses on white collar cases, commercial and Supreme Court litigation, according to his company biography. Another Latham partner, Chris Clark, has been representing Hunter Biden since December 2020 — but Cheney’s husband’s involvement at the firm had not been previously known. Latham is a Democratic powerhouse, with company attorneys and other employees donating more than half a million dollars to President Biden’s 2020 campaign, Federal Election Commission records show. Clark himself ponied...

As readers of The Washington Post and his syndicated column know, Dana Milbank covers politics with snap and crackle. His gift, and his dogged reporting, serve him well in his new book, “The Destructionists” (good title), on the quarter-century-long crackup of the Republican Party. While reading it, a line by the late P.J. O’Rourke came to mind: “The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn’t work and then they get elected and prove it.” Another line kept coming...

The attempted murder of author Salman Rushdie prompted social media users, including several members of Congress, to voice criticism of the Biden administration’s pursuit of a nuclear deal with Iran in light of the country’s past support of a fatwa against Rushdie’s life. "Iran has offered a bounty to anyone who assassinates Salman Rushdie," Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio tweeted on Friday. "Today he was stabbed in America. Why is Biden still negotiating a ‘deal' with these terrorists in Tehran?"

An FBI forensic report confirms the gun used in the fatal "Rust" shooting could not have been fired without someone pulling the trigger, court documents revealed on Friday. Actor and producer Alec Baldwin admitted to brandishing the gun when 42-year-old cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot on the movie's set last October. However, during an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos in December, the actor assuredly claimed he "didn't pull the trigger." "The trigger wasn't pulled," Baldwin said, arguing that he only pulled back the hammer. "I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never."...

Hoo boy! It sure is good to be home! I don't know exactly what hit me, but I was hit hard. The last thing I remember is I was in a lot of pain from my pressure sore, then Chris put me to bed. The next thing I remember, I woke up in the hospital, a week later. I was in a dream world for several days. Kept coming in and out of the same bad dream. I didn't eat or sleep for a week, then they finally got me to eat and drink liquids. They later told Chris that...

In 1999, nobody could have told me that the US government would ever come up with a project that was more vile, wretched, stupid, and evil than Kosovo, but the present conflict in Ukraine qualifies for that.US support for Zelensky and the Kiev regime is the Mac-Daddy of all stupid and evil policies.
