Dr. Lapado was the only surgeon general in the nation to recommend nutraceuticals to prevent and even treat common ailments, including Covid-19. He’s also not a fan of vaccine mandates, as he told an audience today. “How can you force people to take a vaccine in order to stop transmission when that vaccine is not effective at stopping transmission?” he asked.

When, during the Second World War, Raphael Lemkin, a Polish lawyer who had made it to the U.S., coined the word “genocide,” he intended that it should cover more than the Holocaust, which had consumed 49 members of his own family. Nazi-style annihilation was the ne plus ultra, but Lemkin argued that genocide could also be somewhat subtler. Genocidaires might want to destroy a national group as a distinct entity while being content to see many of those who had been a part of it survive, so long as they accepted the identity imposed upon them by their oppressors.

WELCOME, Md. — A 16th week had passed with no arrest in the murder of Patrice Parker’s son, another week in which she had struggled through grief for him and fear for herself and her surviving daughters. It wasn’t just that the person who had turned a gun on 24-year-old Markelle Morrow was still at large, but that so many other armed criminals were as well. Shootings were ravaging the nation’s capital, on track for its highest number of homicides in two decades. In Prince George’s County, where Parker lives, carjackings had more than quadrupled since 2019. But there was...

When the MP3 player took off in the late 1990s, the format itself entered the public consciousness in a way not many others have — with perhaps the Word document being an exception. But what is an audio format, anyway, and why should you care? This guide will cover some of the most popular formats used by audio streaming services today and explain their differences. What is an audio file format?A digital audio file is how recorded content gets saved on a computer, media player, smartphone, or other device. Digital audio is, at its most basic level, a series of numbers that...

Polish authorities must stop locking up migrants near the Belarus border and put an end to the “very different” treatment of Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian refugees, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on migrants’ rights has said. Poland has faced attempts by tens of thousands of migrants and refugees since mid-2021 to cross its border with Belarus and enter the European Union. Morales said these migrants and refugees, many of whom are from the Middle East and Afghanistan, were “routinely” being locked up in de facto detention centres in Poland near the border...

Love him or hate him, during Trump’s presidency, the economy was strong, markets were up, inflation was under control, gas prices were low, illegal border crossings were down, crime was lower, trade deals were renegotiated, ISIS was defeated, NATO allies were stepping up, and China was stepping back (a little). Deny all that if you want to. The point here is that something like 100 million Americans believe it, strongly, and are bewildered and angered by elite hatred for the man they think delivered it. Nor was Trump’s record all that radical—much less so than that of Joe Biden, who...

China’s foreign ministry accused the White House Friday of lying when it claimed President Biden discussed the genocide and enslavement of Uyghur Muslims with his Beijing counterpart Xi Jinping Thursday. Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters hours after the call that Biden had “raised genocide and forced labor practices by the [People’s Republic of China].” “That is something that he raised about human rights, as he always does,” she said. “This is, as we’ve said, that anytime the president has an opportunity, he raises that when he meets with another leader, and called on [the] PRC to cease its ongoing...

A 42-year-old Bellevue man was arrested on suspicion of making terroristic threats after he was accused of putting a $5,000 bounty on his stepson. The man told police he wanted someone to cut off the stepson’s testicles. Omaha police officers were called to a meatpacking company near 36th and J Streets about 9:15 p.m. Monday to investigate a report of threats. A 27-year-old Bellevue man showed officers a screenshot of his stepfather’s Facebook post offering a $5,000 bounty on him. Police learned that a Douglas County judge had issued the stepson a protection order against the stepfather earlier that day....

(National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) During a recent expedition to the largely unexplored depths of the northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge, marine researchers stumbled upon something odd: tiny holes excavated in the sediment, all arranged in dozens of relatively straight lines. Holes on the sea floor wouldn't usually be too perplexing, but these were dotted in an incredibly neat and evenly spaced pattern. If not for the fact they're located roughly 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles) below the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, in the middle of nowhere, they could have been engineered by human hands. Researchers on board the US National Oceanic...

The Lulo Rose weighs 170 carats. (Lucapa Diamond Corp) Miners in Angola have uncovered a massive pink diamond that may be the biggest gem of its kind found in the past 300 years. The pink diamond is estimated to weigh 170 carats, making it just a smidge smaller than the 182-carat Daria-i-Noor diamond – the largest pink diamond in the world, which today is part of the Iranian National Jewels. The new diamond has been nicknamed the "Lulo Rose," after the Lulo mine in northeastern Angola where it was found, according to a statement from the Lucapa Diamond Company, which...

Former President Donald Trump dropped some massive truth bombs concerning the current condition of our country on Tuesday, stating that a country that had been “made great again” has now become a “beggar nation.”And to think, that happened in the course of a year and a half. It took Trump four years of hard work to turn this ship back in the right direction after almost a decade of Barack Obama. All of that hard work was burnt to ash by the incompetence of Joe Biden and the Democratic Party who are more focused on building a Marxian society than...

There was a time when Parker never would have been ready. During a long career as a nursing aide she had cared for countless shooting victims. Like many Black women in Southeast Washington or just across the D.C. border in Prince George's County, she'd viewed guns for most of her life as the root of the violence that had wrecked countless lives in her community. That changed, paradoxically, after her son was shot to death in a parking lot not far from her home. Exasperated with the police response and in despair over the sheer number of weapons on the...

...**Avoiding unseen food hazards is the reason people often check the dates on food packaging. And printed with the month and year is often one of a dizzying array of phrases: “best by,” “use by,” “best if used before,” “best if used by,” “guaranteed fresh until,” “freeze by” and even a “born on” label applied to some beer. **

'Palestine Correspondent' Mohammed El-Kurd Shares ‘Nazi-Like’ Cartoon: Will The Nation Remain Silent? Akiva Van Koningsveld, July 24, 2022. https://honestreporting.com/palestine-correspondent-mohammed-el-kurd-shares-nazi-like-cartoon-will-the-nation-remain-silent/ ... Since The Nation in September announced El-Kurd’s appointment, he has produced three essays for the progressive site, each one rife with falsehoods and justifications for violence perpetrated by Palestinians. His latest article, “My Neighbor Protested His Family’s Expulsion From Its Home—Now He’s in an Israeli Prison,” published on December 21, is no exception. According to El-Kurd, Israeli forces this summer detained a Palestinian teacher by the name of Murad Attieh on “trumped-up charges” stemming from “protests” against possible evictions in...

On Friday, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman emphasized the importance of the mainstream media investigating Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings after his recovered laptop has reportedly shown some connections to his father, President Joe Biden. With concerns over foreign influence being peddled to President Biden, Friedman told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” that he was “all for getting to the truth wherever it leads.” “Squawk Box” host Joe Kernen asked Friedman, “In your view, would you say there’s been a reluctance for major media outlets to pursue that story and is that OK, do you think? …Do you feel it’s important...

The Biden administration’s new Title IX guidance, released last month, is a radical and almost certainly unconstitutional distortion of the original statute — one that threatens free speech, due process, women’s rights, and even parental rights. It even threatens schools’ ability to provide for and feed students in need. The updated guidance changes the definition of “sex” to include “gender” and “gender identity” and expands the definition of “sex-based harassment” to include any action that prevents a student from participating in an education program or activity “consistent with their gender identity.” This means that government-funded schools and universities will have...

“Last week, the completeness of Secretary Haaland’s (financial) disclosures were again called into question,” the Arkansas Republican said. “In addition to raising concerns about Secretary Haaland’s compliance with federal ethics standards, this complaint triggers additional questions about the operation of the Department of the Interior’s (DOI) Departmental Ethics Office (DEO).”The disclosure form reported no assets over $5,000 from bank and investment accounts. The only asset listed was an annual per capita payment of $175 from her enrolled tribal membership in the Laguna of Pueblo. . . Her disclosure form “indicated a net worth of $0,” said Protect the Public’s Trust.
