SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California punched back Friday against two recent landmark U.S. Supreme Court decisions as Gov. Gavin Newsom announced he will sign a controversial, first-in-the-nation gun control law patterned after a Texas anti-abortion law. His action comes one month after conservative justices overturned women’s constitutional right to abortions and undermined gun control laws in states including California. Newsom stitched the two hot-button topics together in approving a law allowing people to sue anyone who distributes illegal assault weapons, parts that can be used to build weapons, guns without serial numbers, or .50 caliber rifles. They would be awarded...

Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and the 15 other Democratic lawmakers who were arrested Tuesday outside the Supreme Court coordinated the stunt with a progressive dark money group funded by billionaire George Soros. Getting arrested was the whole point of the stunt, Ocasio-Cortez said in an Instagram post on Tuesday. She said organizers of the Center for Popular Democracy Action Fund asked her and her colleagues to "submit themselves for arrest in front of the Supreme Court." The New York lawmaker insisted in the post what she and her colleagues did was "very different than a 'publicity stunt.'"...

Did you read in the news about the three mosques in the U.S. that were set on fire just the other weekend? Did you hear in the mainstream media about the scores of attacks, including some firebombings, of the Planned Parenthood facilities by pro-life extremists? Did you hear about the harassment of pro-abortion politicians and judges for their pro-choice stance? You didn’t? Neither did I, because none of those things happened. But the mainstream media has for the most part ignored the multiple churches and pro-life facilities that have been attacked in one way or another by pro-abortion forces in...

In June, when the Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, it was personal for me. As a man, I am not able to give birth, but as a person with a disability — I like to say a difference — and who is currently using in vitro fertilization to prevent passing my condition on to my children, my rights are under attack, too. The fight for abortion rights is my fight, too. I was born with a medical condition called velocardiofacial syndrome. It is a partial deletion of Chromosome 22. The scientific name for VCFS is 22q11.2 deletion,...

Daily Caller co-founder and Fox News host Tucker Carlson may have dealt a death blow to former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley’s presidential hopes Friday in Iowa. Tucker first made the statements about Haley during his keynote speech at the Family Leadership Summit in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday night. “We spoke about some of the politicians who should not be running the country. We were pretty specific about it,” Tucker reiterated on his Monday night show, a clip of which was shared on Twitter. “I’ll never forget it as long as I live,” Tucker told the audience in Iowa,...

The Biden White House is a shipwreck. The 2024 Democratic field is thin regarding name recognition and talent. The rest of the crop that ran in 2020 can't win a national election. Joe is half-dead, while Kamala has special needs. This roster is not set up for future success. Again, watch out for Hillary Clinton, the Democrats' best and worst option. Former Clinton adviser Dick Morris says she's ready to toss her hat in the ring. Stephen Green at PJ has more: Former Bill Clinton advisor Dick Morris says Hillary will run again in 2024. I think I speak for...

The DOJ is reportedly working on a plea deal with Hunter Biden. This indicates that many crimes related to trafficking drugs and women and extorting and taking bribes in the millions from foreign entities while his dad was Obama’s VP will go unindicted. The New York Post reports on Hunter’s reported plea deal. Reports that federal prosecutors are on the verge of wrapping up the Hunter Biden investigation suggest that a “generous” plea deal for the first son is in the works, a former Justice Department official said Thursday. Lawyer Jim Trusty and other legal experts also discounted the notion...

Over 200 Lesbians lined up for the exciting opening of Doc Marie’s, a new lesbian bar. That excitement lasted less than a week as complaints poured in. Doc Marie’s, named after Dr. Marie Equi, wasn’t inclusive enough for trans or people of color. In other words, they thought Lesbians were homophobes and racists. The bizarre responses do not end there. Despite mask mandates being lifted in Portland, patrons demanded more COV-prevention measures. COV is now a cold. Patrons also claimed that Doc Marie’s had “culturally appropriative art” on the walls. The employees rebelled. They aren’t just lesbians; they are WOKES....

President Joe Biden's COVID-19 symptoms 'have improved,' according to a letter the White House released mid-morning Friday provided by Physician to the President, Dr. Kevin O'Connor. O'Connor reported that Biden completed his first full day of the antiviral Paxlovid, after testing positive for COVID-19 on both an antigen and PCR test Thursday morning. 'He did mount a temperature yesterday evening to 99.4 degrees, which responded favorably to acetaminophen (TYLENOL),' the letter said. O'Connor said Biden's symptoms continued to be a runny nose, fatigue - and now a 'loose' cough. 'His voice is deeper this morning. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory...

Sri Lanka recently chose to ban fertilizers made from fossil fuel. Anyone who’s not an idiot could have predicted the results.Pretty much every country that participates in the modern, global economy is far better off today than in the recent past. More people have been lifted out of third world poverty in the past 70 years than in the all of the thousands of previous years combined. The only countries that remain in third world poverty are the luddites who choose to reject the modern world. I support using modern technology to give a first world standard of living to...

The head of Britain’s secret intelligence unit MI6 said Russia is struggling to maintain its military campaign in Ukraine, and that President Vladimir Putin will soon be forced to temporarily halt his invasion, potentially giving Ukraine the opportunity to hit back. Richard Moore, in a rare public appearance at the Aspen Security Forum, said Russia has experienced “epic fails” in achieving its initial goal of removing Ukrainian President Zelensky from his post, capturing Kyiv, and sowing disunity in the West. The intelligence service views Russia’s military gains to be “tiny” and noted the country was “about to run out of...

Joe Biden’s presidency has foundered as gasoline prices have soared, with readings in numerous polls showing record or near-record low favorability. Biden’s climate change policies, which many blame for the sudden surge in fuel costs, are now highly unpopular among average Americans, a new I&I/TIPP Poll shows. For our online July I&I/TIPP Poll, taken from July 6-9, we asked 1,643 adults across America to consider the following statement: “President Biden has said that record-high gasoline and electricity prices are necessary for meeting his goal of eliminating fossil fuels in the U.S. to fight climate change.” Respondents were then asked to...

Maritime archaeologists from Bournemouth University have uncovered the remains of a medieval ship and its cargo dating back to the 13th century off the coast of Dorset. The survival of the vessel is extremely rare and there are no known wrecks of seagoing ships from the 11th to the 14th centuries in English waters. The discovery makes this the earliest English designated wreck site where hull remains can be seen. The ship was discovered in Poole Bay on the edge of the Swash Channel by local charter boat skipper Trevor Small of Rocket Charters who reported the discovery to archaeologists from...

Vanity Fair’s headline on July 18 was literally too shocking to believe — though many readers likely trusted the magazine when it said, “‘Pro-Life'” Idaho Republicans Declare Women Should Be Left to Die to Save Fetuses.” This statement is false, and proves the pro-abortion media has left behind any trace of journalism in favor of fear mongering and abortion lobbying. Number one? Idaho Republicans certainly never “declared” such a thing — in fact, they “declared” nothing at all. Platform vs. law What happened in Idaho this weekend was… precisely nothing. The Idaho Republican Party voted against adopting an amendment stating...

Actress Jennifer Grey, known best for her role in the 1987 film Dirty Dancing, recently opened up to the Los Angeles Times about her abortion as a teenager and feeling “emotional” about the end of Roe v. Wade. Teenage pregnancy and abortion “When I try to imagine my own daughter at 16, playing house, essentially living with a grown-ass man, doing tons of blow, popping Quaaludes, and going to Studio [54] — not to mention being lied to, cheated on, then gifted with various and sundry STDs and unwanted pregnancies, it makes me feel physically ill,” she said. “No teenager...
