We are going down this road, feeling bad. As The Fed Reserve prepares to raise their target rate in a week by 75 basis points to 2.50%, the NAHB Home Builder’s confidence index plunged. The 30-year mortgage rate is up 89% under Biden as his green energy fiasco is helping drive inflation to its highest level in 40 years leading The Fed to tighten its monetary policies. Meanwhile, Jerome Powell and The Fed are doing The Fed Rate Shake.

Joe Biden has repeatedly denied having any knowledge of his son’s business dealings or ever speaking to him about them. Yet over the years, evidence has surfaced that suggests Biden was a key power player in Hunter’s schemes. Now, according to Hunter Biden’s personal calendar, which was found on his abandoned laptop, we know that between 2008 and 2016, Hunter met with his dad at least 30 times at the White House or the vice president’s residence after returning home from overseas business trips. As The New York Post notes, these meetings “raise questions about whether Hunter was relaying messages...

The response will not please them: You’d think that Reddit, of all places, would understand the Streisand Effect, and the futility of censorship. But you’d think wrong. It’s sad, though, to see all the old bastions of Internet free speech taken over by officious woke pecksniffs.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres warns humanity is choosing "collective suicide" with its failure to act on climate change. He warns that the global warming limit of 1.5 Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit) agreed to in the 2015 Pris climate accord was slipping further out of reach even as more people are being hit by extreme floods, droughts, storms and wildfires...

Eating an egg every day in winter can help keep your vitamin D levels up, new research has found. As many as one in three Australian adults may have vitamin D deficiency. It can lead to fatigue, aches, muscle weakness, mood changes and an increased risk of contracting respiratory infections. "Vitamin D deficiency can have a negative impact on bone health as the key function of vitamin D is to promote calcium absorption," says research lead, Professor Robin Daly. "Vitamin D deficiency may also increase the risk of other non-skeletal diseases such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, depression and Alzheimer's...

Dr. Anthony Fauci announced his plan to retire at the end of President Joe Biden’s term in a new interview published Monday, lamenting Americans were no longer listening to his recommendations on masking or vaccines. [cut] He predicted Republicans would start to investigate him if they take leadership in the House of Representatives in November, but insisted that was not why he planned to retire. “They’re going to try and come after me, anyway. I mean, probably less so if I’m not in the job,” Fauci said. He expressed regret Americans were no longer listening to his recommendations on masking...

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has already helped block one of former President Donald Trump’s allies from winning the Republican nomination for governor in a crucial battleground state. Now he’s hoping for a repeat in his own backyard. Ducey is part of a burgeoning effort among establishment Republicans to lift up little-known housing developer Karrin Taylor Robson against former television news anchor Kari Lake, who is backed by Trump. Other prominent Republicans, including former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, have also lined up behind Robson in recent days. On Monday, Robson’s campaign announced the endorsement of former Vice President Mike Pence,...

An observational study led by Professor Hiroaki Kanouchi presents the first evidence that eating sunomono—a Japanese vinegared side dish—correlates to lower blood pressure categorization in men. "The benefits of vinegar in a healthy diet are well known. Our research is the first observational study of these benefits; we didn't ask participants to change anything," explained Professor Kanouchi. Previous studies have shown that subjects drinking 30 mL of vinegar daily had lower blood pressure but also lost weight that could account for the lower blood pressure. Sunomono is a traditional side dish made with sliced cucumber or seaweed in rice vinegar,...

In 2020, the most recent year that data is available, more than 45,000 people died from gun-related injuries, according to the Pew Research Center; That’s a 14% increase from the previous year, 25% increase from five years ago, and a 43% increase from a decade ago.As numbers climb nationwide, California has a completely opposite trend. For more than 20 years—except for two years during the pandemic—the Golden State’s rate of firearm violence has consistently decreased. California has one of the lowest firearm mortality rates in the country. Its residents are less likely to die from a gunshot than almost anywhere...

WASHINGTON, Thursday, July 17. The scenes attending the adjournment of Congress were not of unusual interest. Much of the last hour of the session in the House was spent in fighting off Mr. WICKLIFFE's resolution requiring a register of all the slaves that may come into the lines of our army. The venerable Kentuckian was not pleased with the rejection of his proposition. One of the last acts of the Clerk was the reading of the President's intended veto of the Confiscation bill, a paper not altogether satisfactory to the Republicans, as was shown by the refusal to print extra...

At 79, Joe Biden is the oldest president in American history. Concerns about his age top the list for why Democratic voters want the party to find an alternative for 2024. I don’t think this reflects an “ageist” prejudice against those who have reached such withering heights so much as an understanding that people in their late 70s and 80s wither. I speak with some authority. I’m now a spritely 76 — light years younger than our president. I feel fit, I swing dance and salsa, and can do 20 pushups in a row. Yet I confess to a certain...

Environmentalist groups in Germany and the Netherlands are challenging plans for a new gas field in the North Sea, a German non-profit organisation said on Friday, possibly complicating Europe's hunt for alternatives to Russian fuel. Environmental Action Germany (DUH) said it had filed the lawsuit with the Court of Justice in The Hague together with Dutch organisation Mobilisation for the Environment (MOB) and a citizens' initiative from the coastal region of East Frisia. Privately-owned Dutch company ONE-Dyas has been given the go-ahead by Dutch authorities to develop its N05-A gas field in the North Sea, straddling German and Dutch waters,...
