Bill Barr, two-time attorney general and one of approximately 2.5 members of the Trump administration to leave with his reputation intact, has also written one of only two books about that administration worth reading, “One Damn Thing After Another.” I’ve read ‘em all. At least partially. Most did not merit more than a quick skim. [For those interested, the other book about the Trump administration worth reading is Michael Wolfe’s “Fire and Fury,” but judging by its sales, you probably already have this book.] I’ve been a fan of Barr’s since long before he worked for Trump, and was thrilled...

Two congressional Democrats conceded that voters don't care about the Jan. 6 committee hearings, according to a reporter who spoke with them. Politico national correspondent Betsy Woodruff Swan shared what she heard as Capitol Hill gears up for the 2022 midterm elections during a segment Wednesday on the streaming service NBC News NOW. The exchange took place as the Jan. 6 committee is in the midst of holding a slate of summer hearings in which members are working to tie former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results to the Capitol riot. “Does the Jan. 6 hearing...

The ballroom at the Mandarin Oriental brimmed with women in power suits, patiently awaiting the keynote panel of the nonprofit All In Together’s “Black Women Lead” event last week. April Ryan, a veteran White House correspondent for The Grio, sat down to interview Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about her new position. “It is awesome to be outside of that press briefing room,” Ryan laughed. “Yeah,” Jean-Pierre said with a sigh, “it is.” Jean-Pierre took her seat just 20 days earlier, a new player at the table who found herself holding a weak hand. Voters are alarmed about inflation, baby formula...

Slippin’ Into Darkness! Despite what Biden and his muppets say, there is a good chance that the US will slip into recession over the next 24 months. And with that, we are seeing a slight drop in US mortgage rates. Inflation is surging, and The Fed seems intent on “inflation fighting” but may have to pause that fight the impending recession. This is called a “U-turn” although Powell didn’t mention that is his testimony yesterday. According to Mortgage News Daily, the 30-year fixed dropped below 6% to 5.88%. Europe is signaling their u-turn to recession fighting as 10-year sovereign yield...

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell informed a House committee today that either its interns don’t know how Google works or the Congresscritters are unaware real life isn’t like the Washington Post, where public temper tantrums usually bring about the desired staffing results. Goodell’s information impartation took place before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, which for reasons unbeknownst to all, save perhaps its members’ campaign managers, has assumed upon itself the role of overseeing and reforming NFL team owners, specifically Washington Redskins Commanders owner Dan Snyder. Who could most likely use some oversight and reform, but since Congress has solved...

With the current restrictions limiting entrance to L the interior of Yellowstone, it’s important to be able to access adventure outside the park gates… Luckily, with all the wilderness that surrounds the world’s first national park, that’s not hard to do. Park Junkie & his buddy Clint head toward Silvertip Peak, only to have their efforts thwarted by the raging waters of the North Fork of the Shoshone River. A quick change of plans sent the duo to the top of adjacent Crow Peak, in search of an ancient arrow that points toward a Native Medicine Wheel, hundreds of miles...

Truth is the way out of chaos To Journalist Tucker Carlson Hello, Tucker. I am 13 years old and I live in Lugansk. I think many people from the American authorities do not even know where it is, but they continue to supply weapons to Ukraine for the war with Russia. For a week now, Ukrainian artillery has been mercilessly shelling Donetsk, killing civilians in the Donbass. It’s one thing to fight with the army, and another to just shoot guns at schools, kindergartens and sleeping residents. Many will say that this is deception and propaganda, but it is not...

This correspondent has repeatedly written the First and Second Amendments of the US Constitution are intertwined and support each other. A power-craving government cannot effectively keep a population disarmed unless it censors information on how to make and use arms. Billionaire Bloomberg supported Everytown for Gun Safety understands they cannot disarm the population, as long as people are free to transmit information on how to make, modify, and use firearms.Their solution is clear. Forbid the knowledge of how to make, repair, and use firearms. From everytownsupportfund.org:Based on our review of the writings by the shooter in the Buffalo mass shooting,...

Vietnam on Thursday (June 23) denounced China’s illegal military exercise in the Hoàng Sa (Paracel) archipelago as a serious violation of its sovereignty over the South China Sea Island chain. The spokesperson for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lê Thị Thu Hằng made the remarks during a press briefing in Hanoi, in response to requests for a reaction to the announcement from China’s Hainan Province’s Department for Ocean Affairs about a June 19 drill in the waters off of Phú Lâm (Woody) Island, part of Hoàng Sa, which Vietnam claims as its own. The military drill “goes against the...

VIDEOWith the indictment of Andrew Gillum today it is easy to forget how close this Corruptocrat came to becoming governor of Florida in 2018 thanks to highly suspect late ballots that kept being "discovered" and counted long after the polls closed in Broward County. Fortunately the then governor of Florida Rick Scott put a stop to this nonsense and forced the resignation of the Broward County Supervisor of Elections. However Broward County came very very close to making Gillum the governor over Ron DeSantis and might have done so if the very very delayed late vote count had not been...

The city of Severodonetsk has been taken by Russian forces with the exception of holdouts in the Azot chemical fertilizer plant. That’s according to the Ukrainian head of the Luhansk Oblast administration, Serhii Haidai. After pushing through the towns of Toshkivka and Myrna Dolyna, Russian forces are moving to surround from the south and west Severodonetsk’s twin city, Lysychansk, on the opposite side of the Donets River. The main line of communication between the transport hub of Bakhmut in the west and Lysychansk in the east has been cut by Russian troops and rendered impassable. Russian air force strikes on...

Will La Luz Del Mundo persist with leader behind bars? It’s incredibly difficult to leave a religious organization that’s given followers a worldview that says, ‘we are God’s chosen,’ experts note. LOS ANGELES (RNS) — As La Luz del Mundo leader Naasón Joaquín García was sentenced to nearly 17 years for sexually abusing young female followers, Jack Freeman — a spokesman and minister for the church — remained steadfast in his support for García as God’s elected. “Even if the whole world would come against me, I would still declare with my faith. I am a Child of God and...

Bank of America has sounded the alarm on the US economy, predicting growth will stall next year and that the likelihood of a recession will surge. In a note published on Friday — two days after the Federal Reserve hiked interest rates by 75 basis points — analysts said the Fed was too slow to aggressively tackle inflation, which is running at a 40-year high, and abruptly scrambling to get on top of it. Now the bank sees GDP growth slowing to nearly zero by the second half of 2023 because of the influence of tighter financial conditions. While the...
