This correspondent has repeatedly written the First and Second Amendments of the US Constitution are intertwined and support each other. A power-craving government cannot effectively keep a population disarmed unless it censors information on how to make and use arms.
Billionaire Bloomberg supported Everytown for Gun Safety understands they cannot disarm the population, as long as people are free to transmit information on how to make, modify, and use firearms.
Their solution is clear. Forbid the knowledge of how to make, repair, and use firearms. From everytownsupportfund.org:
Based on our review of the writings by the shooter in the Buffalo mass shooting, it appears that he honed his knowledge of firearms and firearm modifications on YouTube. Just days before his attack, posts attributed to the shooter on Discord read, “I’ve just been sitting around watching youtube and shit for the last few days. I think this is the closest I’ll ever be to being ready. I literally can’t wait another week to do this.”
Technology platforms, such as YouTube, have a responsibility to users and the public-at-large to insure that posts do not incite violence or promote extremist content.
This correspondent, contrary to what Everytown posits, claims Technology platforms, such as YouTube, have a responsibility to users to protect and support their First Amendment rights of free expression.
Everytown admits they request that videos on how to modify guns be taken down. They say they have requested YouTube take down videos on how to make guns (which they call “ghost guns”).
YouTube has policies that censor some content on how to make or modify some guns and accessories. From nbcnews.com:
YouTube’s firearms policy says users can’t post videos that show how to install certain gun accessories, including high-capacity magazines. In a statement on Friday, the company said the videos

So they pull them off YouTube...there are other platforms. Given that YouTube is Google, I’m surprised that they allow the gun videos that they do now.
Eventually you will come to realize that the Constitution means nothing but obstruction to the ruling class. America is now -in terms of the Constitution as the law of the land- a lawless nation. Executive orders over-ride the Constitution regularly, with silence from the republicants when it happens.
Everytown needs to call for censorship on how to read and write and how to post on the on internet - attacking the First Amendment.
Google/YouTube is so hypocritical. I subscribe to a lot of YouTube gun channels, and most of them say they are demonetized, yet I still see YouTube inserted ads for guns, holsters, body armor, and other shooting accessories.
You can't show how to 'modify' a gun on YouTube, like how to drop in an aftermarket trigger, but you can show how to detail strip and reassemble your firearm, which are the same steps.
Some of YouTube's biggest channels are gun related - Matt Carriker's Demolition Ranch, Hickok45, etc., so Google likes the revenue, but they also like to virtue signal.
Thus their current bipolar attitude towards guns.
Knowledge is power.
All they would ever accomplish is making them slightly harder to find, but just like the 3D printed gun blueprint “ban”, the files just moved from the mainstream sites to sketchier places like “Pirate Bay” and the like, but are still easy to find with a quick search.
Cars don’t kill people.Stupid and/or drunk *drivers* do. Guns don’t kill people. Stupid,or immoral,*people* do.
I believe the late P.A. Luty was publishing books on building expedient firearms before he started working on his submachine gun. I may be mistaken, though.
That’s right. The 1st Amendment is directed specifically at Congress hands off our liberties listed here in. The 2nd amendment is directed at everyone. It does not specifically state any government agency, organization, or individual regarding “shall not be infringed “. It’s meant to be hands full against all persons in the USA.
Furthermore, any individual who red flags another, is legally and financially liable for violating any civi right of another. Take away my guns under false statements and you are toast. I will come after your house, car, and everything else.
They’ll also have to take tools away from people who can figure this out on their own. Or kill everyone who has engineering tendencies.
Everytown not concerned about the Waukesha racist killer learning about driving on YouTube.
LOL...like we even need YouTube anymore.
There’s a starburst looking spot between my butt cheeks “everytown” can kiss (figuratively).
Knowing how the left rolls they would probably like it in real life.
“silence from the republicants”
Rush Limbaugh nailed it a long time ago. Don’t remember the exact subject he was talking about but he was saying the Republicans won’t counter anything about things the Dems were doing:
“...given the scaredy cat nature of the Republican Party...”
Agree with all your points here...
Since we don’t understand guns, no one should be allowed to.

The 2nd amendment does not require all firearms to be accounted for, nor does it require background check done on a potential firearms owner. This is only to track firearms and those who own them so they can be confiscated.
