At the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner Saturday night, comedian Trevor Noah pointed out Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the audience before attempting some humor at his expense. The only problem with this? That’s right — it’s fake news. Gov. DeSantis was not at the dinner. Watch for yourself: “There’s many big names here tonight. Yeah. One of my favorites, Rhonda Sanctus is here. Yeah, yeah. Oh, man. I’m actually surprised that he found the time. You know, he’s been so busy trying to outmaneuver Trump for 2024. I see you, Ron. I see you, player.” Trevor Noah on FL...

Kathy Boudin, who spent decades in prison for her part in the deadly 1981 Brink’s armored truck heist as a member of the radical militant group Weather Underground, died of cancer at the age of 78 in New York on Sunday. In October 1981, Boudin and members of the group teamed up with the Black Liberation Army for the robbery to help fund their anti-government campaigns. They targeted a Brink’s armored truck, which they held up in Rockland County, making off with $1.6 million. During the robbery, gunmen killed Brink’s security guard Peter Paige before transferring the money to a...

The White House pretends to offer information to reporters, and the press pretends to scrutinize it, all while really working together to screw Americans. If ever one day and one incident explained the problem with the elite media in Washington, April 6 seems as good as any. On that day, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki brandished a binder at the daily press briefing, claiming it contained information regarding Covid spending that the Biden administration had provided to Congress: This is 385 pages of information we have given to Capitol Hill and briefed them on how COVID funding has been...

Wind and solar companies have reported massive profit declines over the last year as clean energy prices have risen and new installations have been delayed thanks to supply chain shortfalls, market uncertainty and the Ukraine crisis. “One of the problems with this industry as a whole is that, since at its very foundation it is based on government subsidies and government mandates, its market value is never truly known,” said Daniel Turner, the executive director of Power the Future. “90% to 95% of the supply chain does not exist,” RJ Scaringe, CEO of electric vehicle maker Rivian, told reporters in...

On CNN’s “The State of Our Union”, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told Dana Bash that since Sept 2021, DHS has been preparing to start handling and processing 18,000 illegal aliens per day – 540,000 a month – as soon as CDC Title 42 is lifted. We’re talking 3 million people by the November election. Roughly ten million anonymous people have poured into the country under Joe Biden. We could have 30 million by 2024. That’s the population of Texas. They are stealing our votes – diluting them with foreigners. It won’t take long for Democrats to insist that they...

Russia has lost a quarter of the combat power it sent to Ukraine at the beginning of the invasion, British intelligence has found. The UK’s Ministry of Defence said it could take years before many of the groups are fit for action again. Tens of thousands of Russian troops are estimated to have been killed during the first nine weeks of war but Moscow has not given a figure. The Ukrainian military has also kept its death toll secret. “At the start of the conflict, Russia committed over 120 battalion tactical groups, approximately 65 per cent of its entire...

We now have the proverbial double whammy happening … soaring home prices AND soaring mortgage rates. The theory is, of course, that The Federal Reserve will slowly remove its staggering monetary stimulus leftover from 1) the financial crisis of 2008 and 2) the Covid recession of 2020. As you can see, the sheer volume of monetary stimulus remains outstanding and it is the EXPECTATIONS of The Fed tightening that is caused the 30-year mortgage rate to rise. So, The Federal Reserve is participating in The Great Reset by helping send mortgage rates to the moon. But with soaring mortgage rates...

An aide to Georgia Democrat Jon Ossoff even asked DOJ if witnesses would have "heartburn" or "would have any trouble answering" prearranged questions. ========================================================================= Congressional hearings are supposed to show the independence of Congress exercising its oversight of the executive branch. But that wasn't the case with Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff and the Biden Justice Department in a series of hearings last fall. Memos made public under the Freedom of Information Act show Ossoff, a freshman Democrat, fed his planned questions and even suggested an answer to Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Kristin Clarke ahead of two Senate Judiciary...

A CNN talking head declared Sunday that if Elon Musk is allowed to buy Twitter, the platform will have to be government regulated to prevent ‘discourse’ being open and free, and not subject to establishment controlled censorship. While discussing the Musk take-over on CNN’s potato time with Brain Stelter, “media analyst” David Zurawik proclaimed that Musk is “dangerous” and shouldn’t be allowed to restore free speech on the platform. Zurawik suggested that the U.S. look to Europe, which has recently brought in new laws to limit social media, and even threatened to ban Twitter if Musk doesn’t play ball. “There’s...

We need to do everything we can to ensure that the Crustacean-in-Chief folds to the left again and decides to pay-off his constituency of affluent, sexually dysfunctional college loan debtors – throw us in that briar patch, you desiccated old pervert! Now, you may be confused if you watched my Townhall VIP “Stream of Kurtiousness” video last Friday expressing, in an unrelenting stream of naughty words, how infuriating it would be to reward dumb people at the expense of people who were not dumb. But we cannot be carried away with emotion. This is a golden opportunity to raze academia...

Another day, another fire at a food processing plant. Chesapeake, Virginia – Firefighters responded to an industrial fire at Perdue Farms Saturday night. “Chesapeake firefighters battled an industrial fire this evening at Perdue Farms in the South Norfolk area. Plant operators reported a fire in large soybean processing tank. Firefighters climbed multiple flights of stairs with hose and equipment to access the standpipe system. Water was applied and the fire brought under control in approximately one hour. Much work left here to overhaul and dump product from the tank. Solid work tonight by all involved. Special thanks to Company 8...

It is critical that we stand up to and forthrightly reject the Biden Administration's unconscionable new assault on freedom. Remember the date: April 27, 2022That’s when the mask came off the creaky Orwellian juggernaut that is the Biden Administration. The senile rictus disappeared and something far more threatening took its place. In Nineteen Eighty-Four, George Orwell called the enforcement mechanism of his totalitarian propaganda regime the “Ministry of Truth.” Appearing before the House Appropriations Subcommittee, the ironically named Department of Homeland Security was slightly more subtle. Too many people have read Nineteen Eighty-Four. Calling a government-funded effort to suppress criticism...

Some of the major players who have been behind the scenes in the recent past are quickly taking very public control over our future. It's time to stand up and point a spotlight on them. ************************************************************************** For the last year, we have railed against the two most powerful financial institutions in the world: BlackRock and Vanguard. And by “financial institutions,” we really have to use that label because they’ve gone far beyond simply being the biggest investment management firms with over $10 trillion between them. They now wield extreme levels of direct power over the most crucial industries in the...

Republicans running for the seat of Ohio’s retiring senator, Rob Portman, appear determined to bury the soft-spoken country-club bonhomie that was once a hallmark of the party in this state, and replace it with the pugilistic brand of conservatism owned by Donald J. Trump and now amplified by the new band of Buckeye bomb throwers. The race descended into a brutal slugfest as the leading candidates, the author-turned-venture capitalist J.D. Vance, the former state treasurer Josh Mandel and a self-funded businessman, Mike Gibbons, entered the final weekend before Tuesday’s primaries accusing one another of being insufficiently right-wing or disloyal to...

Republican Sen. Kathy Bernier, a former Chippewa County clerk and chair of the Senate elections committee, is retiring after 12 years in the Legislature. She took intense criticism for defending local clerks’ elections performance and questioning Assembly Speaker Robin Vos’ decision to hire former state Supreme Court Justice Michael Gableman to investigate the election. Gableman called on her to resign. “It just seemed to me something had to be said and something had to be done,” she said. “After getting the slings and arrows from people in my own caucus . . . they came to realize there was nothing...

The upcoming anniversary of Russia's liberation at the end of World War II will have no bearing on Moscow's military operations in Ukraine, the country's foreign minister said on Italian television on Sunday. "Our soldiers won't base their actions on a specific date," Sergei Lavrov said when asked whether the May 9 anniversary would mark a turning point in the conflict. "We'll commemorate our victory in a solemn manner but the timing and speed of what is happening in Ukraine will hinge on the need to minimise risks for civilians and Russian solders,"

In the dramas of ancient Greece, a hero would often struggle against impossible odds, on the brink of apparent oblivion, when suddenly a god figure would be lowered to the theater stage to solve the plot’s problems. This appearance of a “god from the machine” –deus ex machina– gets a bad rap in storytelling these days: it’s an easy, lazy way to end a complex tale. Modern problems do not get solved by divine intervention. Life is not that simple. Well, that’s what half of the US population believed about Internet censorship for the past five years. Pummeled by an...
