Twitter’s new owner, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, fired back at his critics in Hollywood, the Dem establishment, and the media as they completely overreacted to the news he was buying the social media platform. The reaction from the left to the news that Musk wants to protect the one thing that separates us, and guarantees we will always beat, China, Russia, and the rest of the authoritarian regimes – our fundamental freedoms like free speech – has been an eye-opener. Musk shamed his critics: “The extreme antibody reaction from those who fear free speech says it all. By “free speech”,...

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) pushed Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday over the risks of expanding the NATO military alliance, saying that Russia has in recent decades invaded countries that “were part of Russia.” At a hearing, Secretary of State Antony Blinken argued that Russia hasn’t attacked NATO countries “probably for a good reason” given their collective strength against Russia. Paul then responded, “You could also argue the countries they’ve attacked were part of Russia.” Blinken argued that it is the “fundamental right” of those countries, including Georgia and Ukraine, to decide their own future and independence. Paul said,...

The latest example of G-20 countries not bowing down to US pressure to halt trade relations with Russia comes from South America. On Tuesday, in response to the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s request for Brazil to increase more food exports, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro asked the WTO not to sever trade flows with Russia. He said there are 27 Russian vessels hauling fertilizer to Brazil. Now, why would Bolsonaro go against the wishes of the US and EU politicians to eliminate trade with Russia? Well, the South American country imports more than 85% of its fertilizer demand....

WHEN RUSSIAN FORCES began to roll towards the Ukrainian border on the evening of Defender of the Fatherland Day, 23 February, Moscow was anticipating the capture of Kyiv within three days. Many outside observers – including the authors of this report – feared the destruction of the conventional Ukrainian military, even if they expected the fighting to last longer than Moscow had hoped. Moscow’s plan was for repressive measures to have stabilised control of Ukraine by Victory Day on 9 May. Instead, the Russian military was repulsed, suffering heavy losses, and is now embarking upon a limited offensive to try...

The Senate on Tuesday confirmed Federal Reserve Governor Lael Brainard as vice chair of the central bank. Senators voted 52 to 43 in favor of Brainard’s confirmation to be the No. 2 official on the Fed board of governors, where she’s served since 2014 at the appointment of former President Obama. She will be just the third woman to serve as Fed vice chair since the modern central bank system was established in 1914, following Alice Rivlin and former Fed Chair and current Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. Six Republicans crossed the aisle to support Brainard, pushing her over the necessary...

RINGGOLD, Ga. (AP) — As he met with voters recently in a part of northwest Georgia where Donald Trump is still very popular, David Perdue invoked his belief in the lie that elections in 2020 and 2021 were stolen from the former president and himself. “First of all, it was stolen,” Perdue said. “The facts are coming out.” When the rally was over, Perdue visited the storefront office of a group that similarly espouses election falsehoods. Perdue posted a photo on his Facebook page of himself beaming as the group’s cofounder talks under a banner proclaiming “a legal vote requires...

Russia unleashed a string of attacks Monday against rail and fuel installations deep inside Ukraine, far from the front lines of Moscow's new eastern offensive, in a bid to thwart Ukrainian efforts to marshal supplies for the fight....Five railroad stations in central and western Ukraine were hit, and one worker was killed, said Oleksandr Kamyshin, head of Ukraine's state railway. The bombardment included a missile attack near Lviv, the western city close to the Polish border that has been swelled by Ukrainians fleeing the fighting elsewhere around the country....Russia also destroyed an oil refinery in Kremenchuk, in central Ukraine, along...

CNN’s chief media correspondent Brian Stelter, who claimed Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation” before it was verified by the establishment media, claimed free speech is unattractive to Americans.“If you get invited to something where there are no rules, where there is total freedom for everybody, do you actually want to go to that party, or are you going to decide to stay home?” he rhetorically asked. “And that’s a question for Twitter users.”

WILLIAMSPORT – A federal judge has recommended dismissal of suits aimed at removing two conservative Republicans from the May primary ballot because of their efforts to overturn the election of President Joe Biden. U.S. Middle District Magistrate Judge William I. Arbuckle on Tuesday refused to certify the suits Jeffrey D. Hill filed seeking to have Doug Mastriano and Scott Perry disqualified. State Sen. Mastriano from Franklin County is running for governor and U.S. Rep. Perry is seeking his sixth term in Congress from the 10th District that includes parts of York, Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties. “Today’s recommendation simply reinforces...

A male contraceptive pill could be tested in humans in just two months, scientists say — after it showed promise in trials on mice. Researchers at the University of Minnesota, who invented the drug, say it could enter clinical trials as early as this July. The non-hormonal pill, medically named YCT529, blocked 99 per cent of pregnancies in mice during tests — putting it on a par with the female birth control medication. It also did not trigger any visible side-effects, such as weight gain, and male mice were able to father pups four to six weeks after administration was...

Fort Worth, Texas, is now the first city government in the United States to mine bitcoin — and in an almost poetic devotion to the initiative, Mayor Mattie Parker oversaw the construction of a small mining farm in City Hall. Three Bitmain Antminer S9 mining rigs will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in the climate-controlled information technology wing of Fort Worth City Hall. The city says the miners will be hosted on a private network to minimize the security risk. Bitcoin operates on a proof-of-work mining model, meaning that miners around the world run high-powered computers...

Gov. Brian Kemp has a chance of landing an outright victory against former U.S. Sen. David Perdue, according to an Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll that shows the Republican incumbent with a hefty advantage over his Donald Trump-backed challenger. Kemp led Perdue 53% to 27% in the poll of likely voters in the Republican primary, which is now less than a month away. That would put the governor above the majority-vote threshold needed to avoid a June runoff. Other challengers were in the single digits; an additional 15% were undecided. The poll was conducted April 10-22 by the University of Georgia’s School...

Explanation: The world is waking up to a picturesque planet parade. Just before dawn, the eastern skies over much of planet Earth are decorated by a notable line of familiar planets. In much of Earth's northern hemisphere, this line of planets appears most nearly horizontal, but in much of Earth's southern hemisphere, the line appears more nearly vertical. Pictured over the Sydney Opera House in southern Australia, the planet line was captured nearly vertical about five days ago. From top to bottom, the morning planets are Saturn, Mars, Venus, and Jupiter. As April ends, the angular distance between Venus and...

The Russian government has accused the UK of "provoking" Ukraine into attacking Russian territory. Russia's defence ministry said it was ready to hit "decision-making centres" in Kyiv should such attacks occur. The presence of Western advisers at such centres might not affect its decision to retaliate, it added. It comes after a UK defence minister said it was "not necessarily a problem" for Ukraine to use UK-supplied arms against military targets in Russia. James Heappey said Ukrainian military strikes to disrupt supply lines were a "legitimate" part of war, and described Russian claims of Nato being in conflict with Russia...

Rediscovering Archbishop Lefebvre’s Intolerance for Error Before There’s No Tolerance for Truth “Nothing is done in the world that does not relate to our Lord; it is either for Him or against Him, with Him or without Him. Our Lord is the key to the solution of all the problems. There are none here below that are indifferent to our Lord. Men try in vain to work without reference to our Lord, but it is impossible because our Lord is everywhere. He created everything; therefore everything is in His hands. Everything belongs to Him, nothing is outside of Him....
