WILLS, Pennsylvania -- Andrew Ayers is busy working on loading and unloading several machines at Guy Chemical -- a massive, 30,000-square-foot industrial facility that sits tucked along the border of a tiny unincorporated town in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. People call Ayers one of the lucky ones for surviving his addiction to both heroin and methamphetamine, but he says luck has nothing to do with it. "The first thing I did was physically extract myself from being exposed to it," he tells me. "Now, that might sound simple to someone who has never been exposed to it, but if everyone you...

After nearly 16 months of observation, CDC and U.K. government data indicate that the COVID-19 vaccines not only are ineffective in preventing cases and transmission, they rapidly lose protection against severe illness or death while posing risks. "So what DO they do, and WHY are we using them?" asked Dr. Meryl Nass, a board-licensed internal physician and medical researcher who analyzed the data. She recalled CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky telling CNN's Wolf Blitzer last August that the vaccines were "working exceptionally well" during the delta variant wave to prevent "severe illness and death" while no longer preventing transmission of...

The Czech Republic has been sending old Soviet-era tanks into Ukraine, providing badly needed heavy weapons to outgunned Ukrainian troops that are battling a much better-equipped Russian invasion force. The efforts, described by three Czech and Slovak officials, mark the first time a foreign country has provided tanks to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion began Feb. 24. In a potentially even more important development, both the Czech Republic and neighboring Slovakia, which shares a border with Ukraine, are considering opening their military industrial installations to repair and refit damaged Ukrainian military equipment.

Budget Billing this year set our monthly bill at $200.00. Actual usage and cost for March-April 2022 was $147.06. I just cancelled Budget Billing with a snotty upstart young minority with one of those unpronounceable first names at their customer service line. This company continues to tell you that "Budget Billing" will NEVER increase your cost of electricity because they monitor your meter each month. Then, the only time they adjust the amount is at the very beginning of the year and it always is an increase.

After a lengthy delay on Monday, the Senate Judiciary Committee finally voted on whether to send Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court nomination to the Senate floor. The result was a deadlock of 11-11. While disappointing to Democrats, President Joe Biden’s nominee remains on track to be confirmed this week as the first Black woman on the high court. ... Mitt Romney of Utah planning to vote yes, Jackson is expected to be confirmed by the end of the week. ...

NEW YORK (AP) — A group of financial donors committed to racial equity plans to announce Tuesday that it has secured at least $100 million annually to benefit minority groups that are disproportionately harmed by extreme weather events. The group, the Donors of Color Network, will also announce that 10 of the nation’s top 40 donors to environment causes have now signed on to at least a portion of a pledge the network established last year. The Climate Funders Justice Pledge commits the donors to make their climate-related grants transparent and to direct at least 30% of their donations to...

ROME — Ukraine’s war of resistance against the Russian invader is a spiritual battle against Satan, declared Ukrainian Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk Monday. “A mountain of corpses, rivers of blood, a sea of tears — these are the three words that today describe the icon of contemporary Ukraine,” Archbishop Shevchuk stated in a video message Monday morning. Ukraine continues to suffer from Russia’s “missile terrorism,” the archbishop said, as every night “our cities are fired upon by Russian cruise missiles, which destroy houses, kill people, destroy the critical infrastructure of the economy, the economy of Ukraine.” Yet Ukraine’s heroic...

Euphoria! CoreLogic’s Home Price Insights revealed that home prices rose 20% YoY in February despite REAL average hourly earnings declining -2.678% YoY. THAT is euphoria! Or Stimulypto, as I like to call it. No, The Federal Reserve still hasn’t removed its staggering monetary stimulus. Notice that M2 Money Stock is still growing at a torrid 11% pace. 20% YoY home price growth in February? CoreLogic has increased their forecast of home price growth to 5%, likely because The Federal Reserve is imitating a sloth in removing its monetary Stimulypto. Of course, there are other assets growing at lightning speeds. US...

Health issues for people over age 60 commonly involve eye-related conditions such as dry eyes. More than 70% of people in this age group are believed to suffer from meibomian gland disorder, the most common cause of dry eyes. A study reports that the loss of sex steroid hormones produced by the enzyme 3-hydroxyl-steroid dehydrogenase, or 3-HSD, causes the condition, but it can be treated with nicotinamidemononucleotide, or NMN, which is a non-steroid agent. "Meibomian glands are found in the eyelids and have a role in producing the oil that coats the eyes. Without this oil, tears evaporate, " notes...

ATLANTA (AP) — When Democrat Stacey Abrams first ran for Georgia governor in 2018, her lackluster personal finances and a hefty bill from the IRS gave Republicans fodder to question how she could manage a state budget when she struggled with her own debts. As she launches a second bid this year, that’s no longer an issue. Abrams now says she’s worth $3.17 million, according to state disclosures filed in March. That’s compared with a net worth of $109,000 when she first ran four years ago. Her rapid ascent into millionaire status corresponds with her rise in national politics.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating after a would-be robber was shot and killed Wednesday in North Philadelphia. Officials say a male suspect pulled a gun and tried to rob the store on the 1400 block of Master Street around 12:30 p.m. That's when a customer, who has a license to carry, reportedly shot the suspect twice in the abdomen. The suspect died from his injuries at the hospital. A second armed suspect managed to escape during this incident. This is not the first defensive shooting this year that has resulted in the death or injury of an armed suspect....

Border chief Alejandro Mayorkas is directing that economic migrants get every opportunity to stay once the Title 42 barrier is removed — regardless of the huge damage he inflicts on ordinary Americans. Mayorkjas’ intentions are described in his February strategy, which was leaked to Breitbart Texas on April 4. The February strategy is titled “DHS Southwest Border Mass Irregular Migration Contingency Plan,” and it says on page 16: A. Secretary’s Intent. 1 ) Purpose: The purpose of this plan is to describe a proactive approach that humanely prevents and responds to surges in irregular migration across the U.S. [southern border]....

A grand jury examining Hunter Biden's tax affairs has heard from a witness who was asked about the identity of 'the big guy', mentioned in an email discussing a potential business deal with a Chinese firm. The question was asked at a secret hearing in Wilmington, Delaware - although what the unidentified witness said in response has not been reported. It stems from a March 2017 email discussing a joint venture with a now-defunct Chinese energy company, CEFC China Energy Co. A former Hunter-associate previously claimed the phrase 'the big guy' referred to President Biden himself, sparking calls for him...

“What do we want? Climate justice! When do we want it? Now!" So went the chant that echoed across the streets of Glasgow, Scotland, in November as the city played host to COP26. While world leaders met in the summit's heavily fortified "Blue Zone," out on the streets and around Glasgow, the climate justice movement thrived -- organizing rallies, marches and public assemblies. Climate activists have historically been portrayed as everything from destructive and disruptive extremists to delusional hippies. They're outdated and unfair stereotypes that ignore the diversity of people who are trying to secure a livable planet for future...

From 2014 to 2019, 70 to 80% of fentanyl seized by federal authorities came from China, according to a report from the U.S. Commission on Combating Synthetic Opioid Trafficking.

Not to be outdone by tiny Lithuania (which claims to have officially weaned itself off Russian gas imports by building an LNG terminal), the European Commission has devised a controversial proposal to ban imports of Russian coal, along with a host of other measures comprising a new sanctions package to be introduced on Tuesday, according to reports from WSJ, Reuters and a host of other media outlets. Along with banning imports of Russian coal, the package also calls for an import ban on rubber, chemicals and other products from Russia worth up to €9 billion a year. If passed, the...
