(AP) — Federal officials are funneling more money to rural water projects in several states as the Biden administration looks to put a dent in growing infrastructure needs amid drought and climate change. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday blamed the recent killings of a Daytona Beach couple on President Joe Biden's immigration policies and on what he called "soft on crime" enforcement efforts of local prosecutors. Haitian national Jean R. Macean, who was in the U.S. illegally, confessed to the murders of the Daytona Beach couple, the Florida State Attorney's office announced Tuesday. A man who pleaded no contest to assault charges on Tuesday afterward exited the building and entered a police annex building where he allegedly assaulted a Fresno detective.ABC 30 reports 24-year-old Joseph Roy pleaded no contest on an assault charge earlier in the day. People fleeing war-torn Ukraine are showing up at the U.S. southern border with Mexico and easily gaining entry, even as those from other countries, including Russia, are being turned away under the CDC’s Title 42 coronavirus protocol, according to media reports. CNN reported that the Biden administration plans to drop Title 42 in late May, even if border states warn — including Democrats in those states — the flow of migrants could become overwhelming.

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) announced on Thursday that he will endorse state Sen. Chuck Edwards (R) in his primary challenge against Rep.
