“There is an absence of history in Washington. Russia “encircled” with “sanctions” to deter war. The Republicans want to escalate into an air war with various ideas for intervention by air to offset Russian air superiority. The Democrats oppose this as a risk of World War Three. The lost history in the media and in Washington is in underestimating Russian resistance and self-sufficient go-it-alone nationalism.

The New York Times finally admitted that Hunter Bidenâs laptop is real. ........... Two White House reporters confronted Psaki about Hunter Bidenâs laptop on Thursday and her previous claims it was âRussian disinformation.â Psaki looked visibly irritated and refused to answer any questions. âThe president previously said that the [Hunter Biden laptop scandal]â¦was a bunch of garbage and that it was a Russian plant. MEXICO CITY (AP) — The United States authorized the departure of families and some personnel Wednesday at the U.S. consulate in the Mexican border city of Nuevo Laredo. The move came after drug cartel gunmen fired at the U.S. consulate building in Nuevo Laredo, across the border from Laredo, Texas, during Sunday night. “The Department of State authorized the departure of non-emergency U.S. government personnel and eligible family members from the U.S. Consulate General in Nuevo Laredo due to security conditions,” a department statement said. “As of March 15, the Department of State is not able to offer routine consular...

The caucus is absolutely right that President Biden should declare it so we can build the energy security that only renewable...

Eric Adams, the new mayor of New York City, rode into office on a wave of popular discontent with his predecessor. Part of his pitch to voters was that he would “revisit” Bill de Blasio’s draconian vaccine mandates. The mayor promised on Wednesday to find a mutually satisfactory solution with Major League Baseball to get unvaccinated players back in the game. The season-opening is just around the corner, starting on April 7 for the Yankees and April 15 for the Mets. “We are going to do an analysis,” Mayor Adams explained at Wednesday’s press conference. “Baseball season is not tomorrow....

BOSTON (CBS) — Boston Mayor Michelle Wu opened up to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in a new podcast about the backlash to her COVID vaccine mandate for city employees. As a guest on Clinton’s podcast, Wu was asked how she’s handling the noisy early morning protests outside her Roslindale house. She has proposed an ordinance that would limit when protesters can picket outside private homes. “It’s a very difficult moment in our history, and I see that almost every day outside my house when we are faced with 7 a.m. protests, banging and yelling,” Wu said. “It’s seeded...

The Sanctions Boomerang But Russia has not stood still. The Central Bank of Russia imposed capital controls so that Russian companies cannot pay interest or principal on international debts. That means those loans and bonds may soon go into default. Many such securities may be stuffed into 401(k) plans of Americans under the umbrella of “emerging markets” funds or ETFs. Even more important is the possibility that interbank lending may start to dry up as Russian banks are frozen and Western banks reduce leverage and shrink balance sheets in order to reduce risk. This will lead to defaults in the...

Some Democrats are pushing back on President Biden’s plan to buy oil from totalitarian governments like Venezuela, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. “We shouldn’t be advancing other countries who don’t share our values,” said Sen. Jon Tester last week. Tester is exactly right. But Biden is working hard to destroy all our domestic energy industries, and, unfortunately, Senator Jon Tester keeps supporting Biden’s radical nominees who are implementing these policies. Biden is using all the regulatory tools at his disposal to “debank” those industries he doesn’t like. That means he will force financial institutions not to do business with these companies....

in the '70s, Miller crafted a brand of pure pop that was smart, polished, exciting and irresistible - and that dominated radio in a way that few artists have ever managed. Hit followed hit in what seemed like an endless flow: “The Joker,” "Take the Money and Run," "Rock'n Me," "Fly Like an Eagle," "Jet Airliner," "Jungle Love," “Swingtown” and “Abracadabra,” among them. To this day, those songs are instantly recognizable when they crop up online or on the radio - and impossible not to sing along with. Their hooks are the very definition of indelible. Running through Miller's distinctive...

The first large-scale trial to test the long-term effects of a cocoa flavanol supplement to prevent cardiovascular disease offers promising signals that cocoa flavanols could have protective cardiovascular effects. While neither supplement significantly reduced the primary outcome of total cardiovascular events, people randomized to receive the cocoa flavanol supplement had a 27% lower rate of cardiovascular death, a pre-specified secondary endpoint. More than 21,000 participants were randomized to take daily capsules that contained 500 mg cocoa flavanols (donated by Mars Edge), a multivitamin tablet (donated by GSK Consumer Healthcare), neither or both. The study found that cocoa flavanols reduced total...

However, it appears that the focus on Ukraine might very well bring attention right back to the origins of the last catalysing global event they seek to erase from our memory. Regardless of what happens with...

Men with microscopic evidence of prostate cancer spreading to their pelvic lymph nodes (LNs) following the surgical resection of the prostate and pelvic lymph nodes (LN) are at a very high risk of dying from prostate cancer. Pelvic LN radiation therapy (RT) is a potentially curative treatment. However, no randomized clinical trials have been conducted in men with pN1 prostate cancer to evaluate whether survival is prolonged via pelvic LN RT when the post-operative prostate-specific antigen level is undetectable (i.e., adjuvant) versus the current standard of care, which involves waiting until the PSA becomes detectable (i.e., early salvage). Researchers at...

The House of Representatives on Thursday passed a bill that would strip Russia of normal trade relations with the U.S., in a move that paves the way for higher tariffs on Russian goods. The bill now goes to the Senate. President Joe Biden has backed efforts to change Russia's trade status as one way to punish President Vladimir Putin over the invasion of Ukraine. The vote was 424-8, with all eight "no" votes coming from Republicans.
