I know members of Free Republic are Patriots of GRAND America. Is joining AARP a burden on Free Enterprise? I appreciate FREEPERS knowledged opinion, understanding.
Forget AARP. Go with AMAC.
AARP helped Obama get Obamacare. They sold out seniors.

I know this about them: they usually support candidates and proposals we hate; and they REFUSE to ever allow social security or medicare to be fixed.
Back in the day Art Linkletter use to promote a senior citizen group similar to AARP. Can’t recall its name. He was a regular at CPAC.

....you beat me to the keyboard...! for what it is worth, we were members of AARP for several years, but when they unabashedly and unapologetically threw their support behind what became Obama-care, we cancelled our membeship and never looked back....we used their “senior” benefit for motel rooms, etc. for some time, but don’t miss our membetship one bit....

I honestly stopped paying any attention to them after this, I’m not sure how liberal they are now, but they clearly don’t support or represent the people they claim.

AMAC — for the promotion of conservative values for senior citizens
I have used them for various services they offer (like medicare packages, auto/home insurance, travel & lodging, etc.)
Note: if you use AARP Medicare Advantage, you do NOT need to join AARP!
Why is it important to belong to any of these so-called senior citizen groups? I’m 74, and have never joined any of them.
I would never consider AARP since they backed Obamacare. They seem to me to be highly political now.
