When NYPD officers Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora were brutally gunned down in Harlem recently, the truth about the pro-criminal, anti-law enforcement policies of the left became clear: Woke policies kill cops. There are a lot of so-called progressive public officials in America who view violent, recidivistic criminals as poor victims while viewing loyal, dedicated police officers as oppressive bullies. These are the same public officials who did nothing to protect their citizens as protest marches in the aftermath of George Floyd's death morphed into violent riots in which mobs burned, looted and trashed more than 30 major American cities....

Thousands of Oakland’s students, parents and teachers have taken to the streets in the last week — and two teachers are on their eighth day of a hunger strike — protesting proposed school closures that would disproportionately affect Black students in low-income neighborhoods. The Oakland school board will vote Tuesday night on whether to close eight schools around the city. Oakland Unified has struggled with finances for years, both because of falling enrollment and — according to a 2018 grand jury report — because of massive overspending on educational consultants and administrative services. (The district spent over $33 million in...

“You know, the LPGA Tour to me is a completely different tour than it was 10 years ago,” Lye said. “… You couldn’t pay me to watch. You really couldn’t. Because I just, I couldn’t relate at all. It’s kind of like, you know, if you’re a basketball player — and I’m not trashing anybody; please, don’t take it the wrong way — but I saw some highlights of ladies’ basketball. Man, is there a gun in the house? I’ll shoot myself than watch that.

A “leadership committee” created by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp under a new state law must stop spending money to get the governor reelected during the Republican primary, a federal judge ruled Monday. Former U.S. Sen. David Perdue, who's challenging Kemp in the primary, last month filed a lawsuit challenging the new law. Perdue and his campaign allege that the law gives Kemp a significant and unfair fundraising and spending advantage in the primary and asked the judge to declare it unconstitutional. The law, passed by state legislators last year and signed by Kemp, allows certain top elected officials, including the...

Britain’s largest supermarket chain warned “the worst is yet to come” on food inflation as the cost-of-living crisis pulverizes the working poor. John Allan, chairman of Tesco Plc, told the BBC’s Sunday Morning Live that low-income households have difficulty choosing between food and heat this winter. Budgets are tight, triggering a ‘winter of discontent’ if widespread inflation doesn’t diminish. “In some ways, the worst is still to come – because although food price inflation in Tesco last quarter was only 1%, we are impacted by rising energy prices. Our suppliers are impacted by rising energy prices. We’re doing all we...

The Safe House of Southeast Missouri, the Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence (SEMO-NASV) and the Zonta Club of Cape Girardeau released a joint statement Monday expressing "disappointment and disgust" at the choice of rap artists Eminem and Dr. Dre as halftime entertainment for Sunday's Super Bowl in Los Angeles. "The organizers probably did not give enough consideration to the content of their lyrics. They're frankly inappropriate and disrespectful and describe violence toward women to make it seem acceptable in society," said Jessica Hill, executive director of the Safe House of Southeast Missouri.

30 Trillion in debt and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt. What else do we get? Rising inflation and rising interest rates. Preoccupied, the Union did nothing. At war's end, in 1865, however, at the urging of Gens. Ulysses S. Grant and William Sherman, the Union sent 40,000 troops to the Mexican border. Secretary of State William Seward dispatched Gen. John Schofield to Paris with the following instructions: "I want you to...
