Under fire for spreading covid misinformation on his hugely popular podcast, Joe Rogan recently offered something that’s being described, in some quarters, as an apology. In a 10-minute Instagram video, the erstwhile TV comic turned professional provocateur told his employers at Spotify that he was sorry for causing them trouble. Rogan also assured Neil Young that he was still a fan, even after the rock legend yanked his music off the streaming service in protest, leading a number of other musicians to do the same. And Rogan acknowledged that he gets stuff wrong sometimes and will try to provide more...

In his farewell address, George Washington said, “It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world.” What an offensive notion to Pentagon generals, weapon industry execs, DC think tankers and State Department bureaucrats, who, rather than avoiding permanent alliances, have been relentless in their quest to pile on new ones. That impulse is vividly exemplified by the dangerously provocative post-Cold War expansion of NATO, and its consequences are apparent in today’s Ukraine-centered tensions with Russia. NATO was created to oppose a Soviet empire that no longer exists. Had American presidents followed...

I’d give her a one percent chance of being reelected if she takes Frank’s advice. Versus a zero percent chance of being reelected if she follows through on running in the GOP primary. So I guess his logic is sound. To be clear, he’s not recommending that she become a Democrat. Cheney wouldn’t do that since her policy preferences are almost totally misaligned with the other party. She’s anti-coup and pro-gay-marriage (belatedly) and that’s about where the common ground ends. What Frank wants is for Cheney to retain her conservative Republican identity but to bypass the primary by declaring herself...

I love the best of the Anglican Church. Incredibly hard working priests deeply committed to serving people. Wonderful old churches built in a time when God was stronger in many people's hearts than is normal in Australia now. The capacity sometimes to read history and make it and its lessons live for us now. But in their endless repetition of their very holy words they also sometimes fail to find time to speak and think in ways that are truly free. As Australia loses its freedoms and democracy for politically biased law enforcement that ruins people's lives, the silence of...

Tennessee Republican Gov. Bill Lee on Sunday signed a new congressional map into law that carves up a Nashville-based Democratic district three ways in order to expand his party’s advantage. The new lines give Republicans a distinct advantage in eight of nine congressional districts, and they already forced Democratic Rep. Jim Cooper to retire after his Nashville seat moved from one that President Joe Biden won by 24 points to one that former President Donald Trump won by 11. “Despite my strength at the polls, I could not stop the General Assembly from dismembering Nashville,” Cooper said in a statement...

US-born figure skater Zhu Yi has come under fire from Chinese fans on social media after a fall on her Winter Olympics debut for Team China. The 19-year-old Californian fell flat on the ice during her routine on Sunday (Feb 6), finishing last in the Beijing 2022 women’s short programme team event. The hashtag “Zhu Yi has fallen” quickly became a top trending topic on China’s Twitter-like Weibo platform, gaining 200 million views in just a few hours, before it was later seemingly censored. Zhu’s selection for the Games had already been a controversial topic, after she was picked at...

With the PA feeding Palestinian children a steady diet of child soldier promotion, when the PA launches its terror waves it has a cadre of children ready to be called to action. If you want to know what is really at the heart of the Palestinian conflict with Israel, don’t ask the politicians or the diplomats. Go to the real experts: Palestinian children. Unlike the rest of the world, they’ve been paying close attention to what their leaders and educators have been teaching them – and they’re already signing their lessons in blood.

[Catholic Caucus] Back to the 70’s: What if All Traditional Priests are Suspended? (Part II) See Part I hereIn Part I of this article, I pointed out that on January 18, 2022, La Croix reported that new documents on the Ecclesia Dei communities are due in March. If the Ecclesia Dei priests take a stand in not saying the New Mass, and continue to say the Latin Mass, it is foreseeable that they will incur disciplinary action from Rome. I also went on to point out the absolutely miserable state of the Novus Ordo liturgy in most dioceses since...

Francis plays to celebrity who makes millions on anti-Catholic networkVATICAN CITY (ChurchMilitant.com) - In an interview on Italy's most left-wing talk show and predictably loquacious on his pet themes of Mother Earth, migrants, clericalism and pacifism, Pope Francis was tongue-tied on the theological question of why innocent children suffer. During his 50-minute exchange with celebrity talk show host Fabio Fazio on Italian state television Rai 3, the pope shrugged his shoulders when asked to explain the tragic suffering of innocent children. "Of course, questions remain open: Why do children suffer? I find no explanation for this," Francis admitted. "I have...

Church leaders could be appointed to full-time cabinet-style roles such as “Brexit bishop” or “Covid bishop” under proposals seen by The Times for the biggest overhaul of how the Church of England is run in centuries. The ecclesiastical map of England could also be redrawn via mergers between the 42 dioceses, the creation of new constituencies for bishops based on cities or counties and the appointment of senior “regional” bishops to oversee large areas of the country. The church has been accused of wanting to form a “shadow government” because of proposals that some senior bishops could be detached from...

Secret Service protection most likely means someone in Congress could track down these travel records. The usual m.o. when Joe was VP would be Obama would send Joe to a crisis. Joe would show up with Hunter and a brother along for the trip. While Joe posed for cameras and with politicians, his bagmen would do the deal ("10% for the big guy"). FOIA apply to the Secret Service travel records?

For those who love to catch the fresh falling snow on their tongues, beware, that might actually be plastic falling from the sky! Researchers from Switzerland, Austria, and the Netherlands estimate that close to 43 trillion miniature plastic particles land in Switzerland every year. The research focused on determining just how much plastic is falling back to Earth from the atmosphere, with study authors concluding certain plastic nanoparticles travel over 1,200 miles through the air on their way to the ground. While study authors are still uncertain about exact numbers, they estimate that as much as 3,000 tons of nano-plastics...
