Three days after being photographed without a face mask at the NFC championship game, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti joined other officials Wednesday to urge fans headed for the Super Bowl to strictly adhere to pandemic safety protocols that include staying masked, except while eating or drinking. The Los Angeles area continues to see high levels of COVID-19 infections, and ticket holders ages 5 and older must show proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test to enter. The biggest challenge at the Super Bowl might be there was no way to constantly police 70,000 people. “You can’t force...

After a quiet January that saw one horror sequel and the same holiday releases putter out over several weeks, the domestic box office finally has a new leader. Paramount Pictures’ “Jackass Forever” is projected to earn $20.7 million in its opening, stunting on the weekend’s other wide release, “Moonfall.” “Jackass Forever” earned $9.6 million on Friday across 3,604 locations. The document-of-bodily-harm-cum-heartwarming-reunion is landing near the top of its box office estimates, which projected the movie to take in around $15 million to $20 million in its opening weekend. “Jackass Forever” sees the return of stuntmen Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Wee Man...

Conservative lawmakers in Iowa introduced a bill this week that would require cameras to be installed in nearly every K-12 school classroom across the state, allowing parents to see livestreams. Teachers advocates have criticized the effort as one designed to censor classrooms and intimidate educators who focus on subjects such as race and history. The bill is the latest to be introduced by conservative legislators in states across the U.S., including Florida, who have launched efforts against what they say is critical race theory. The Iowa bill, H.F. 2177, would require that cameras be placed in every public school classroom...

They were all revved up and had nowhere to go. The Toronto trucker convoy never made it to the Ontario Legislature on Saturday — it was stalled and stopped at Bloor St. W. and Avenue Rd. by a Toronto Police roadblock beside the Royal Ontario Museum. It was a sea of Canadian flags with convoy supporters atop dump trucks that came down Avenue Rd. along with 18-wheelers and a cacophony of blaring horns. To the west as far as the eye could see, pickup trucks and cars of supporters that arrived around noon were lined up across all the lanes...

In the wake of the recent Truckers Convoy, Canadians have been peppering Governor General Mary Simon's office with calls to dissolve our federal government, and to remove Prime Minister Justin Trudeau from office. As reported in the National Post, "Rideau Hall’s call centre normally receives between 25 to 50 calls a day. Since the truckers convoy began the number has exploded, with more than 1,500 on Wednesday and over 4,600 at one point in the afternoon on Thursday."It's an unprecedented development in what has become an unprecedented society. The vehemence by which a segment of our population want Justin Trudeau gone...

Soon, everyone will realize that these top 6 Covid corruption whistleblowers were not conspiracy theorists at all, but in fact, hit the nail on the head. History is being made right now, right in front of us all, and the great awakening is gaining much momentum as these brave doctors, scientists and insiders blow the whistle on the biggest terrorist scheme ever designed, and all delivered not by guns, bombs or planes, but with needles. No matter what your “opinion” of the pandemic might be now, it is important to consider objectively the descriptions of what is happening as relayed...

Jailhouse letters from the late Boston gangster highlight his will to live despite deteriorating health including eight heart attacks. The letters provided to The Boston Globe by a California woman he corresponded with appear to contradict federal officials who have said Bulger’s health had dramatically improved, making him eligible for a transfer to a West Virginia prison where he was killed. Bulger was 89 when he was fatally beaten last October ... This is a story about Whitey Bulger and the FBI that you’ve never heard, and it would be even more humorous if it didn’t illustrate yet again how...

WHEN DO WE START TO LIVE AND BE HAPPY? We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that we're frustrated we have teenagers with whom to deal. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage! We tell ourselves our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a vacation, when we retire. The truth is, there's...

The Synod on Synodality: Implementing the “Ecclesiology of Vatican II”The so-called Synod on Synodality — officially, the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, the theme of which is, “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, and Mission” (Oct. 2021–Oct. 2023) — opened in Rome the weekend of Oct. 9-10, 2021 and in dioceses around the world the following Sunday. Unlike previous synods, each of which has been devoted either to a specific doctrinal/pastoral subject[1] or to the situation of the Church in a particular region of the world,[2] the focus of the current synod is much broader and...

Drug cartels in western Mexico have started using improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the ongoing war with the government. Though Mexican cartels have used explosives, drones and homemade armored cars in the past, the Associated Press reported that this is the first time they have used IEDs, or homemade explosives. According to a report by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, IEDs can take many forms, from a 1-pound explosive stuffed into an envelope to "a sophisticated device capable of causing massive damage and loss of life." Mexican television station Milenio described the IEDs the cartels have used as pipe...

Queen Elizabeth II's jubilee message includes a request that her daughter-in-law, Camilla, be named Queen Consort when Prince Charles ascends to the throne. "And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes King, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as Queen Consort as she continues her own loyal service," the queen said in a message released Saturday night, hours before she marks 70 years on the British throne. A spokesman for...

High doses of a widely-used drug used in the hormonal treatment of conditions such as excessive hair growth, early puberty, prostate cancer, are linked to an increased risk of meningioma—the most common type of benign brain tumor. Typically slow-growing, meningiomas are benign tumors, which are often revealed incidentally by imaging but can cause significant disability due to compressing or squeezing the adjacent brain, nerves and vessels and pressure effects within a fixed cranial vault. High doses of cyproterone acetate (> 50 mg/day) is usually prescribed to male patients with inoperable prostate cancer, a condition which leads to excessive hair growth...

To date this doctor has treated 3,000 patients with COVID-19 symptoms, with only three high-risk patients dying. Many doctors around the world started using the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) early on in the COVID-19 pandemic. Among them is Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, a practicing physician in a Jewish community in Monroe, New York. He garnered national attention in March 2020 when he told radio host Sean Hannity that he’d had a near-100% success rate treating COVID-19 patients with HCQ, azithromycin and zinc sulfate for five days. “I’ve seen remarkable results; it really prevents progression of disease, and patients get better,” he...

Canadians have done as they were told during the pandemic. They lined up for shots until the country had one of the developed world’s best vaccination rates; they endured some of North America’s longest lockdowns; and they’ve complied with a wide assortment of curfews and quarantines. But even in a society known for its civility and deference to authority, many are reaching their limit. The populace may disapprove of their un-Canadian-like antics, but there is a growing sense of support for the main message they’re delivering — COVID restrictions no longer make sense. The protests have been the talk of...

OTTAWA—Truckers taking part in the Freedom Convoy have had their GoFundMe page reinstated after employing a clever tactic: burning cop cars, trashing minority neighborhoods, and looting Nike Stores to trick GoFundMe into allowing them back on the platform. Smart! "Er -- racial justice or whatever, eh?!" shouted one trucker disguised in a bandana, holding a fist of justice into the air. "We're fightin' for them, you know, them black folks and what-not, I tell you what, eh? "All cops must die!" he added, before quickly adding, "Sorry." After seeing the police cars burning throughout Ottawa, the smoke rising from black...

Dr. Cyril Wecht distrusts the US government. And he’s proud of it. The forensic pathologist — who declared in 1978 that Lee Harvey Oswald did not act alone in assassinating President John F. Kennedy — is now 90 and still sticking to his story. Wecht’s latest book, “The JFK Assassination Dissected” (Exposit Books), summarizes his six decades of research into the subject, and pokes holes in the conclusion made by the seven-man Warren Commission that Oswald, without any help, shot and killed Kennedy when his motorcade drove past the Texas School Book Depository in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963. “Young...
