BEIJING, Dec 23 (Reuters) - Rising COVID-19 infections in China's city of Xian have spurred a lockdown of its 13 million residents, with stretches of highway eerily bare on Thursday, as many people queued in the cold to get their noses swabbed at testing sites. The daily count of domestically transmitted infections with confirmed symptoms in the northwestern city, famed for its terracotta warriors buried with China's first emperor, has increased for six straight days since Dec. 17.

On a recent morning, Neil Meehan opened a spreadsheet he has come to dread. It showed the number of intensive-care beds available in an area of New Hampshire that is home to 350,000 people: two. A day earlier, there was just one. Very often there are none. Meehan, the chief physician executive at Exeter Hospital, has worked in emergency medicine for nearly three decades. He has lost track of the number of unprecedented things he has witnessed

Representative Madeleine Dean (D-PA) said Thursday on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut” that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was “not a serious American” who is “running very, very scared” from the congressional probe of the January 6 Capitol riot. Dean said, “He is not a serious legislator. He is a serious performer, but he’s not a serious legislator, and he’s not a serious American. He doesn’t care about democracy. He doesn’t care what happened on January 6 and the lies that led up to it that he participated in. And he’s running quite scared. That is what we are actually seeing with Jim...

Christmas, along with the rest of the holiday season, is full of emotions. There's the joy of children thinking about Santa, the happiness of being together with family and friends, and the excitement of Christmas morning that doesn't diminish too much with age. But that's not all Christmas and the holidays bring. There's also, especially in recent Christmases amid the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, greater feelings of loss and loneliness. And that latter part of the emotional rollercoaster is exactly what Chevrolet dove into head-first with its "Holiday Ride" promotional video and shortened version that's been airing on TV. Opening on...

You know my name! Lord Jesus, as I thought about the song, "You Know My Name," I thought about all the babies who were aborted and had not received a name. I am so thankful, for you cover the innocent for our horrible mistakes. I know every one who enters heaven has their name written in the book of life. So Lord, these children have been named by you. Lord Jesus, we lift up the supreme court to you. We pray that they would not bow to the political correctness of those who hate you. We pray you give...

A West Virginia coal miner reacted to left-wing Hollywood star Bette Midler insulting the people of his state, pointing out that West Virginians contribute far more to the United States than the actress. “I think my first reaction was, ‘Bette Who?’ I don’t really recall anything that she’s done too significant here in the last little bit,” coal miner Bo Copley told Fox & Friends First on Wednesday. Copley added that West Virginians aren’t losing any sleep over Midler’s insult, especially given that her career has been at a standstill for a while. “I don’t think a lot of West...

The editor of the Lancet medical journal has admitted that Peter Daszak – a leading signatory of a letter published by the journal discrediting man-made origins of COVID-19 – had “significant” conflict of interests and did not declare them at the beginning of the pandemic. The admission from Dr. Richard Horton came during a grilling from British Members of Parliament on the Science and Technology Select Committee. The stark revelation confirms a lot of early-National Pulse reportage on Daszak, the Wuhan lab, and the interconnected nature of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. Horton’s public acknowledgment of Daszak’s conflicts of interest discredits...

The State Patrol said in a statement that freezing rain early Thursday morning left the interstate between Menomonie and Black River Falls icy. At about 5:45 a.m. a semi-trailer apparently slid in the median near Hixton and caught fire with two cars underneath it. Other crashes and run-offs occurred around the semi-trailer. No one was seriously hurt but the crashes forced authorities to close both eastbound and westbound lanes. Authorities add there were many other secondary crashes and run-offs in the same vicinity, and passengers of those vehicles were taken to a safe location by bus. WITI-TV initially reported more...

Anthony Fauci is arguably the most evil person in the world today. That’s saying a lot when we consider there are serial killers, child sex traffickers, and Democrat politicians also in the same world, but Fauci has them all beaten on the evil scale with his career of killing people, dogs, and who knows what else. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. wrote a book revealing who Anthony Fauci really is, and it’s a best-seller. In “The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health,” he makes many accusations about Fauci that are both...

Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar said that he's done trying to work with Vice President Kamala Harris on border issues. 'I say this very respectfully to her: I moved on,' Cuellar told The New York Times. 'She was tasked with that job, it doesn't look like she's very interested in this, so we are going to move on to other folks that work on this issue.' Cuellar's gripes originated when Harris said she'd be visiting the border in June and a phone call from his office to hers went unreturned. Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar (left) said that he's done...

The Biden White House is incompetent. We all know this. It’s in their execution. It’s in their policies. It’s now seen in the polling. This guy is on Pluto. We have several crises hitting the nation—and Joe Biden is nowhere to be found. He can’t keep up. He’s too old. And he cannot handle the rigors of the job, which is why his staff does most of the work. His people say the economy is roaring. It’s not. Voters know it’s not, but they’re not changing course on messaging. That’s bad news for working families who are being crippled by...

Blue states that have repeatedly imposed mask mandates, vaccine requirements, and lockdowns over the last year have lost population to red states that have done away with such policies. Newly released data from the United States Census Bureau reveals that while blue states like California and New York have increasingly lost population from July 2020 to July 2021, red states such as Texas and Florida have seen population increases.

When he entered office, Biden promised to be a unifier. After what we’ve seen this year, it’s undeniable he’s only been a divider. President Joe Biden is closing out his first year in office the same way he opened it: with a divisive message to two Americas under the guise of a crusade for unity because the messenger isn’t Donald Trump. After Biden wrote off a large portion of the nation as white supremacists at his inauguration, he’s writing off the unvaccinated as responsible for the pandemic. On Thursday, the White House released a briefing with COVID response coordinator Jeff...

First Lady Jill Biden brought in a group of singing and dancing nurses to perform at her first Christmas special at the White House. The Northwell Health Nurse Choir emerged during the pandemic in 2020 as a group of singing and dancing nurses who tried to inspire hope through song. Jill Biden praised the group as a “special group of nurses” for “bringing comfort and joy to all those around them” welcoming them to the White House to honor all of the front line workers serving during the pandemic. All of the nurses were masked during their performances except for...
