THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Police opened fire on protesters in rioting that erupted in downtown Rotterdam around a demonstration against COVID-19 restrictions late Friday night. The Dutch city’s mayor called it “an orgy of violence.” Police said that two rioters were hospitalized after being hit by bullets and investigations were underway to establish if they were shot by police. The condition of the injured rioters was not disclosed. Officers arrested 51 people, about half of them minors, police said Saturday afternoon. One police officer was hospitalized with a leg injury sustained in the rioting, another was treated by ambulance...

Drew Holden’s masterful thread revisiting Kyle Rittenhouse coverage conveniently doubles as ‘a list of potential defendants in upcoming defamatiTon lawsuits’ Posted at 2:43 pm on November 19, 2021 by Sarah D. Once the not-guilty verdict was handed down in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial, we knew it was time to hunker down immediately and brace for media outrage. We also knew that it was time to keep a close eye on Thread King Drew Holden’s Twitter feed: So have we. And now it’s here. And it’s even better than we hoped it would be: We need to start with the media...

The Tesla app is used as a key by drivers to unlock and start their cars. Owners posted a multitude of complaints online about not being able...

Kyle Rittenhouse’s murder trial was never directly about race. Everyone involved in the shooting — the victims and the killer — were young white men. Nor was it entirely about whether Rittenhouse killed 26-year-old Anthony Huber and 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum in self-defense, as the jury decided on Friday. It is easy to make this case all about vigilante justice, but it is much more complex. Nothing in America is that simple anymore. From the moment Rittenhouse was charged with killing two men and injuring another with his semi-automatic rifle during a protest over the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a...

I believe Kyle Rittenhouse faced over 2 life sentences for our cowardice. How many of us were willing to go into an Antifa, BLM, democrat-terrorist mob and try to restore order. Most of us (myself included) cowered in fear as these democrat-inspired mobs burned and looted our cities? Kyle, a 17 year old patriot tried to restore order and ultimately had to defend himself. Many of us in rural Georgia talked about defense committees but none of us ventured into the teeth of the dragon. May Kyle be a lesson to us that the only thing that will quell a...

The Kyle Rittenhouse trial is over. He’s been found not guilty of all charges. He’s a free man. He’s a patriot. He’s a hero. And if you believe in the rule of law and the right to self-defense, this is a win. The national nightmare for this young man is over. He was the subject of political persecution, being charged for shooting two men and wounding another during the 2020 Kenosha riots. Two men, Joe Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber were trying to kill him. he shot them in self-defense. The video evidence clearly shows that. Gaige Grosskreutz, who survived, admitted...

On an uncertain date in November 1676, the Gävle Boy paid the penalty for his elders’ credulity. Only 13 years old at his death, he’d spent the foregoing months as the star witness in Stockholm’s witch trials. Like the hysteria itself, he’d migrated to the capital from the provinces; it’s said that in his native town of Gävle, he’d orphaned himself with a witchcraft accusation against his own mother. Sent off by relatives to live in Stockholm, young Johann Johansson Griis (or Grijs) found his previous evidence made him an expert courtroom authority on the infernal arts; driven by some...

There is so much misinformation about what happened the night Kyle Rittenhouse fired his weapon at four — yes, four — attackers that it’s hard to know where to begin. But let’s start with the prosecutors who promulgated and, indeed, created some of the slanders against the then-17-year-old. In the end, prosecutors Thomas Binger and Jim Kraus could not back up their lies with evidence in a courtroom and a jury saw right through them, thank God. To put it succinctly, Thomas Binger and Jim Kraus left a skid mark on the robes of justice. They put a Kraus-sized turd...

The Independent falsely claimed that Kyle Rittenhouse “shot three black men with rifle” after he was cleared of two charges of murder, one charge of attempted murder, and two charges of reckless endangerment in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The legacy British news outlet, which no longer publishes a print edition but retains an online audience and influence in the UK media and political sphere, led with ‘Full story: Teenager who shot three black men with rifle found not guilty on all charges” as the top subheadline of its front-page coverage of the verdict. In fact, Rittenhouse’s three assailants — Joseph Rosenbaum, a...

WASHINGTON, Tuesday, Nov. 19. An hour passed in agreeable conversation, during which Mr. PRENTICE was introduced to the company. A fine supper was then partaken of, at the close of which Secretary CAMERON made a few remarks He said that we were in the midst of a great war -- much greater than anybody believed when it commenced. The most important portion of the country, in its relations to the war, was Kentucky, and he was gratified to announce that we had present a gentleman who had done more than any other man towards the preservation of the Union. [Applause.]...

Blake Masters is a Republican Senate candidate in Arizona backed by billionaire PayPal founder Peter Thiel. Until recently, his signature issue would have been free trade or privatizing Social Security. Instead, it’s his belief that a family should be able to get by on one income. In his most recent ad, the 35-year-old former venture capitalist, standing in a field of sudan hay, says, “We used to be able to do this. Something happened—globalization, decades of inflation. Can’t really do it anymore.” Our biggest problems, Masters says in his launch video, include corporations that “think they’re bigger than America.” It’s...

Republicans primarying Republicans has become the norm in the past few years. Conservatives support the idea of primarying candidates who have deviated from core Republican principles, yet there are some who have jumped into races for all the wrong reasons. The South Dakota race for Governor is a case study in an upstart candidate trying to take down a nationally recognized Republican leader who has been a great governor by nitpicking at her record. South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has had a stellar conservative record as governor. When governors, both Republicans and Democrats, throughout the nation were implementing mandates to...

Buzz Aldrin is right – America’s civilian and national security depends on space exploration. To ensure this type of American exceptionalism continues into the future, we should follow the advice and guidance that he provided in a recent Wall Street Journal op-ed entitled “Now, Go Where No Man Has Gone Before” where he discusses the importance of space tourism and reasserting broader American leadership in space. We are making small steps, and now need to make bigger ones. In the past few weeks, America’s space leadership received a major boost with the successful launch, orbit, and safe return of civilians...

EXCLUSIVE: Republican Senate candidate Kelly Tshibaka says she was well prepared for Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska’s reelection announcement last week. Tshibaka, who enjoys the backing and support of former President Trump as she challenges Murkowski, told Fox News in an exclusive interview that the longtime senator’s "been campaigning for months. She just hasn’t been honest about it. It’s nice that she’s finally calling it what it is and she’s come clean in saying she’s actually running for the Senate." The former Alaska commissioner of administration emphasized that "we’ve anticipated that Murkowski was going to run because she’s absolutely committed...

After months of telling American consumers that the inflation before their eyes was transitory or just a high class problem, the Biden administration has finally conceded that prices are indeed on the rise. Unfortunately, the renewable energy provisions within the president’s ‘Build Back Better’ reconciliation bill risk pushing costs even higher. Without overhauling the regulations that restrict the domestic production of critical minerals, the president’s bill will heap even greater demand on already slim resources. From the supermarket checkout to the newspaper headlines, it’s hard to miss that inflation is at a 31-year high. A significant driver of that rise...
