The Independent falsely claimed that Kyle Rittenhouse “shot three black men with rifle” after he was cleared of two charges of murder, one charge of attempted murder, and two charges of reckless endangerment in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The legacy British news outlet, which no longer publishes a print edition but retains an online audience and influence in the UK media and political sphere, led with ‘Full story: Teenager who shot three black men with rifle found not guilty on all charges” as the top subheadline of its front-page coverage of the verdict.
In fact, Rittenhouse’s three assailants — Joseph Rosenbaum, a 36-year-old convicted paedophile who chased Rittenhouse through the streets during a Black Lives Matter riot on August 25th, 2020; Anthony Huber, a 26-year-old with convictions for strangulation and suffocation and domestic abuse who bludgeoned Rittenhouse in the head with a skateboard and appeared to try and grab his rifle; and Gaige Grosskreutz, a 28-year-old with a range of convictions for offences including striking his grandmother, felony burglary, and prowling who himself testified that Rittenhouse did not shoot him until he pointed an unlawfully-carried handgun at him — were all white.

I’m sure the Independent knew they were lying when they posted it on their website.
They were probably relying on what they read from our own Ministry of Propaganda outlets.
They almost all get their news from CNN or US wire services.

Another one for the defamation/libel lawsuit stack.
Now this is the paper that Rittenhouse should sue. And he should sue them in English courts where libel laws are enforced. This is clearly libel. And he could really make money on this.
We should contact companies which advertise with such media, point out the obvious lies and state I assume that you are lying about your product by advertising in this publication.
I hope this ‘news’ source finds itself soon contributing to Mr. Rittenhouse’s very early retirement.

They worded it so those that only read the header (ahem!) or first paragraph would assume he shot three ‘bipoc’ PROtesters. They know how to keep us divided. NEVER trust the media. EVER!
Libel cases are much easier to prosecute in the U.K.

Most of the media used the term shot black lives matter protestors. They knew it would get the low information voters to believe he shot black men. Little did they know they would get other low information “media” members.
