“Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?” (1 Corinthians 1:20). Knowing Christ makes the believer wiser than the world. Lawrence Toombs, in his 1955 article “O.T. Theology and the Wisdom Literature,” said, “Wisdom is to be found with God and nowhere else. And unless the quest for wisdom brings a man to his knees in awe and reverence, knowing his own helplessness to make himself wise, wisdom remains for him a closed book” (The Journal of Bible and Religion, 23:3 [July 1955], 195). It’s wonderful to have the book of God’s wisdom opened to us as believers....

Whenever opposition arises, God’s grace thrives in us. Think about what happens to a tree when a great storm beats violently against it. The wind threatens to uproot the tree and carry it away. It breaks off branches and blows away its leaves. It loosens its roots and blows off its buds. When the storm is over, things look hopeless. Yet, look closer; the same storm that opened crevices in the earth around the trunk of the tree has helped the roots go deeper. The tree has access to new, deeper sources of nutrition and water. It has been purged...

senior White House adviser said the Justice Department will set the amount of compensation if it deems that paying migrants separated from their families will save taxpayers money — payments that run as much as $450,000 or more. “If the DOJ determines that it saves the taxpayers money and it rights a wrong, then they will make the determination that is necessary and I would assume if they make a determination, they’ll come up with what they think is an adequate dollar amount,” Cedric Richmond said on “Fox News Sunday.” Richmond said the Justice Department is making its decision independently...

A nurse in Western Australia (WA) has been charged with the fraudulent recording of vaccine information after she allegedly pretended to administer a dose of a COVID-19 jab before throwing away the still-full syringe. WA Police arrested and charged the 51-year-old female registered nurse at her residence on Sunday, Nov. 7. The woman employed at a private medical centre in St James had obtained approval to vaccinate the teenage child of a person known to her. It is alleged that the nurse made a false record that the teenager had received the vaccine while also recording that another employee had...

Democrat Party Melting Down Over Fundamental Question: Stay Woke and Alienate 90% of Independents, Or Break from Wokeness and Alienate the Democrat Base of Wealthy White College Students, Guilty Wealthy White Suburban Professionals, and Minority ActivistsBegun, the Woke Wars have.James Carville laid the blame for the the election squarely on the Woke left, stating What went wrong is this stupid wokeness" and "some people need to go to a woke detox center or something," He decried taking down statues of Lincoln and "changing dictionaries [instead of] changing laws" and "faculty type people that sit around moaning about, I don't know...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemJob 932 “He is not a mere mortal like me that I might answer him, that we might confront each other in court. 33 If only there were someone to mediate between us, someone to bring us together, 34 someone to remove God’s rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more. 35 Then I would speak up without fear of him, but as it now stands with me, I cannot._______________________________________________________God Bless America.ML/LTOS

WASHINGTON, Friday, Nov. 8. THE NEWS FROM THE NAVAL EXPEDITION. Everybody is jubilant to-day over the news from the naval expedition, and all are hopeful no disaster will follow the reported success. The Cabinet has been holding an extra session this evening. Gen. D.C. BUEL has positively been assigned to the command of the Department of Kentucky, and he will proceed to that State in a few days. The appointment of Gen. BUEL to this position springs from Gen. MCCLELLAN's high appreciation of his military ability, regarding him as second to no man in the United States Army. It was...

Be honest. Does anyone really believe that any of these new schemes that resident Joe Biden conjures up every few days to "tax the rich" will cause Bill Gates, Elon Musk or Warren Buffett to pay more taxes? It's clear why the superrich are a tempting target to, as Biden puts it, "pay their fair share." We have billionaires with almost unfathomable riches. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, calls their wealth "obscene." Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has attained a wealth that exceeds some countries. Amazon's stock is now worth close to $1 trillion. He owns perhaps 15% of the...

KENOSHA, Wisc. — It was a bad day for key prosecution witness Gaige Grosskreutz, the third person shot by Kyle Rittenhouse during the Kenosha riots last year, during cross-examination by the defense on Monday as they got him to admit he lied several times about what happened in the aftermath of the shootings. Grosskreutz testified he was carrying a Glock 27 handgun the night of the shootings despite the fact his concealed carry license was expired. Grosskreutz added he saw Rittenhouse running away after hearing gunshots. Grosskreutz said when he found Rittenhouse running away and asked him if he shot...

U.S. industrial giant General Electric will split into three companies following years of seeing its stock underperform, the company announced on Tuesday. The company will be divided into separate units focused on aviation, health care and energy. GE plans to spin off the health-care unit by early 2023 and the energy unit by early 2024, the company said in a news release....

The nation argued for five years over the infamous Steele dossier, the document on which the FBI relied to investigate Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign. It should have been called the Clinton dossier. Special counsel John Durham this week obtained an indictment of Igor Danchenko, a Russian who provided information for the dossier. Danchenko is charged with lying to the FBI, but the bigger story of the indictment is Democrats’ central role in every aspect of the dossier and the FBI investigation. Dolan has long been in Clinton circles, having served seven years as head of the Democratic Governors Association and...

It’s still early but these two stories will certainly be contenders for this week’s most ludicrous headlines: 1. Alec Baldwin calls for police officers on movie sets to supervise gun safety.Yeah Mr. Alec-de-fund-the-Police-Baldwin, that’s the trick: let’s put all you movie types under constant adult supervision so nobody need be responsible for anything, ever. “It Wasn’t My Fault!”That pretty much sums up the left’s vision for America, where “gentle giants” are never responsible for their crimes but the police hired to protect us from criminals always are.The get out of jail free card: what’s in your wallet?2. US-Mexico Border Reopens...

As President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell was whisked to a secret location and cloistered with a handful of other top lawmakers. The senator from Kentucky had spent the past four years as one of Trump’s chief enablers, boosting his election by keeping a Supreme Court seat open, pushing through his agenda with party-line votes and standing by for weeks as Trump falsely claimed the 2020 election was stolen. But their marriage of political convenience had abruptly shattered three weeks earlier, when Trump exploded at McConnell for acknowledging Joe Biden’s victory....

If things aren’t working, it’s because those who work within the federal government don’t want them to work. I am amazed how many words have been wasted trying to explain this or that government policy that is hurting the American people. Don’t we know by now that, if a government program seems not to be useful, it was designed to be that way? Instead of taking each program and dissecting it, the trick here is to bundle them together to better understand their motivation: importing cheap foreign labor, increasing energy costs, the irresponsible tolerance of cancel culture, vaccine mandates, anti-ableism,...

ERIE, Pennsylvania -- Voters in the Keystone State, as in Virginia, took Tuesday's election as an opportunity to rebut Democrats' overreach. Driven by the loudest voices in their national party toward issues of social justice, "intersectionality" and "climate justice," Democrats suffered for ignoring everyday issues such as inflation, crime and education. With mail-in ballots still pending, Republicans are poised to sweep all four of Pennsylvania's statewide judicial elections. They also made gains in municipal races. In the collar counties surrounding Philadelphia, voters echoed the same dissatisfaction with Democrats that was displayed in the surprising results in neighboring New Jersey. This...

If you think of America’s two competing political belief systems as two trains heading towards each other on a single track, a clear picture emerges—a satiric parable. There are two trains on the track, moving from opposite directions. Train one is a super-speed, solar-powered train a la France’s Train à Grande Vitesse. You know, the one where every car’s roof is an energy-producing solar panel and there’re wind-mill doohickies spaced along the top too, taking great advantage of the speed-generated wind. Its cars are filled with the woke, excited for their shiny future, a future without COVID because everyone’s vaccinated;...

Scandal after scandal piles up around Dr. Fauci. Anything that can't go on won't. Does Anthony Fauci see the handwriting on the wall? His boss and enabler, the immensely hypocritical Francis Collins, apparently can take a hint. He's getting out while he can. He'll ride off into the sunset with a hefty government pension and the adoration of his sycophants. But Fauci? He must see the storm clouds gathering. No one, not even a true dictator, can stand in front of the cameras as many times as Fauci has, can pontificate to and manipulate a nation the way Fauci has,...

CHICAGO - An elderly man with a concealed carry license shot and killed a robber in Chicago on Saturday afternoon, police said. The 77-year-old was in a garage on East 89th near MLK in West Chesterfield around 12:30 p.m. when the robber drove up. The robber pulled out a gun and demanded the elderly man's stuff, police said. On Sunday, he was identified as Bernard Peterson. Chicago Police said...
