Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Job 9

32  “He is not a mere mortal like me that I might answer him,
that we might confront each other in court.

33  If only there were someone to mediate between us,
    someone to bring us together,

34  someone to remove God’s rod from me,
so that his terror would frighten me no more.

35  Then I would speak up without fear of him,
but as it now stands with me, I cannot.

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
Who can stand in the Day of Your Wrath?
Yet Your Mercies are New Every Morning,
And Your Lovingkindness is Better Than Life!
Let us never forget Your Righteousness
And Your Holiness, Oh LORD.
May We Never lose sight of that,
And May We Rely Totally On Your Amazing Grace.

Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.

Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.

This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.

Let all that has Been Concealed,
Be Revealed.

God Bless America.

Psalm 117

1 Praise the Lord, all you nations!
Extol him, all you peoples!
2 For great is his steadfast love towards us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures for ever.
Praise the Lord!

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

One of my students, a delightful, energetic boy of 7, has been doing so well on the piano that his Dad is now also having lessons. Their home is gorgeous, and the family is very affluent. Even though the man is obviously very smart and successful (he is a lawyer and is active in State Politics), he totally defers to me on the piano, because I am the teacher and he is the student. Yesterday, I played two pieces of music to show him the difference between Pop Piano (Desperado by the Eagles) and Classical Piano (Fur Elise by Beethoven). He sat in rapt attention and exclaimed that I was a genius! (LOL! Me, a Bass-Playing, Pit-Bull-Owning, Trailer-Dwelling, Born-Again-Christian, Republican, Biker, Widow! Ha Ha Ha!) I told him that if he practiced dilligently, he could do that too. And, since his Law Office is right down the street from me, and I need a Lawyer, I know where to go. We all have different gifts, and it's important that we use them wisely.

"You need a good Lawyer!"

Hopefully you will never be in a position to hear these ominous words. When a person is in trouble with the Law, it doesn't make sense to solve the issues by himself. The worth of a Prosecuter is based upon the number of convictions he or she obtains, not by how often the Truth is Found or Justice is Done. And so, it is essential that you have an Advocate on your side, who respects your intelligence, believes in you, and knows all the "angles".

Poor old Job in the Bible needed a good Lawyer! Through no fault of his own, he was subjected to horrible loss. His alleged "friends" were like a Team of Prosecutors, attacking Job from every side, and sounding correct and righteous in doing so. If you lift any one of Job's Friend's speeches out of context and read it separately, it sounds pretty good. The speeches speak of God's Power, His Soveignty, His Holiness, His Righteousness, and so on. They also speak of the inability of man (specifically Job) to approach God, the problem of Self-Righteousness, the Issue of Secret Sin, and the fact that we often fool ourselves when we protest our innocence. In fact, they could be construed as a forerunner to St. Paul's statement that "All Have Sinned and fall short of the Glory of God(Romans), or Isaiah saying that "All Our Righteousness is like filthy rags."

How can Job answer such accusations? He needed a Good lawyer!

And so, Job lifts his voice in lamentation. "How can I take on the Courts of Heaven? Who will speak for me? I NEED an Advocate! If only there were Somebody to Intercede for me!"

Well, as Job will find out, he does have a REALLY GOOD Lawyer!

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
