Albany pols, NYPD order cops to do nothing as drug addicts shoot up New York City’s war on drugs is over. The junkies won. The New York Police Department waved the white flag last week — upon orders to surrender from Albany — directing officers to let drug addicts freely shoot up on city streets, and even let them share needles. “Effective immediately, members of the service should not take any enforcement action against any individual who possesses a hypodermic needle, even when it contains residue of a controlled substance,” states a directive to NYPD commanders issued last Friday and...

“If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them! “ Luke 6:32 New Living Translation A minister I used to listen to would often discuss the difference between loving justice and hating injustice. Of course, if you think about it for a moment, you’d see that they have nothing in common with each other–they are two completely different things. And therefore, it’s about time we separated the “sheep from the goats” regarding this issue. There will likely be many who read the title of this article and...

The discredited British spy is set to be interviewed Monday by George StephanopoulosDelicious. Christopher Steele, the single most discredited actor in the entire Trump Russia Collusion Hoax, is set to be interviewed Monday by George Stephanopoulos, the single most pompous of all the brood of lying, self-important talking heads that spent more than four years trashing Donald Trump.I know that there is stiff competition for that first title. After all, Steele had to beat out James ‘Higher Loyalty’ Comey, liars and confabulators like John Brennan, Andrew McCabe, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok and James Clapper. But Steele wins, hands down, because...

President Biden's announced vaccine mandate for private employers is being blamed for flight disruptions, and now his mandate for federal workers is posing the threat of further travel chaos with the TSA admitting that 40% of its agents remain unvaccinated six weeks before the deadline. "We have about 60 percent of our workforce has been vaccinated, that that number needs to go quite a bit higher over the next few weeks," Transportation Security Administration Administrator David Pekoske told CNN. The Nov. 22 deadline is only two days prior to the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, which usually is the nation's busiest travel...

SEATTLE (AP) — The Washington State Department of Transportation has closed five rest areas north of Seattle along Interstate 5 because of excessive trash, vandalism and a staffing shortage. Rest areas closed Friday in both directions at Smokey Point between Marysville and Arlington and both directions at Custer, north of Bellingham, The Seattle Times reported. “We’ve seen broken toilets, broken sinks and stalls,” agency spokesperson Bart Treece, who noted maintenance crew members work in pairs for safety now, said. “Some people extend their stays and leave trash.” The southbound Silver Lake rest area in South Everett, which was already closed,...

Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time Luke 12:8-12 Friends, in today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us how to deal with persecution. When does the Church stop being persecuted? When the Lord returns, and not before. From the earliest days until the present, the community of Jesus Christ has been the focus of the world’s violence. The Church will announce, until the end of time, that the old world is passing away, that a new world of love, nonviolence, and life is emerging. This announcement always infuriates the world of sin. Always. The twentieth century was the bloodiest on record—and the one with...

We're Not Ready To Say Goodbye To War Just Yet By JAG October 14, 2021 "Only the dead have seen an end to war."__Plato (and others) And some 6000 years of human history says it's true. Then way out there on War's extreme edge, we have: "You talk of food. I have no taste for food. What I really crave is slaughter and blood and the choking groans of men."__Achilles, The Iliad, 19:250-260 That attitude offers no hope to humanity, but the Lord Jesus does. He says: "blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God." And...

All of the federal contractors in the state of Texas (and there are a lot of them) are about to find themselves in a difficult position. Governor Greg Abbott has issued an executive order forbidding any companies from instituting vaccine mandates. But as of yesterday, the Pentagon has informed all of its contractors in the Lone Star State that they must comply with Joe Biden’s federal vaccine mandate. The federal mandate doesn’t take effect until December 8, so there is still some time for negotiations or court appeals, but that may not matter. The statement from the Pentagon was phrased...

The Gulag Archipelago is a book by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn about the Soviet forced labor camp system. The three-volume book is a narrative relying on eyewitness testimony and primary research material, as well as the author's own experiences as a prisoner in a gulag labor camp. Written between 1958 and 1968, it was published in the West in 1973 and, thereafter, circulated in samizdat (underground publication) form in the Soviet Union until its appearance in the Russian literary journal, Novy Mir, in 1989

Four weeks on a diet of highly processed food led to a strong inflammatory response in the brains of aging rats that was accompanied by behavioral signs of memory loss, a new study has found. Researchers also found that supplementing the processed diet with the omega-3 fatty acid DHA prevented memory problems and reduced the inflammatory effects almost entirely in older rats. Neuroinflammation and cognitive problems were not detected in young adult rats that ate the processed diet. The study diet mimicked ready-to-eat human foods that are often packaged for long shelf lives, such as potato chips and other snacks,...

This afternoon in Paris, 1793, the French Revolution devoured the Queen. Among the most emblematic death penalty victims in history, Marie Antoinette — the “widow Capet,” as she was styled in egalite, after the guillotine shortened her husband — had the bad luck to personify the decadence of the ancien regime under the hegemony of the sans-culotte. (And, of course, the good luck to be born heir to all the perks of absolutism she enjoyed for the first thirty-plus years of life. So, you know: a mixed bag.) Those infamous excesses — and her infamous alleged bon mot, “let them...

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem2 Chronicles 6:12-42Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication 12 Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in front of the whole assembly of Israel and spread out his hands. 13 Now he had made a bronze platform, five cubits long, five cubits wide and three cubits high,[a] and had placed it in the center of the outer court. He stood on the platform and then knelt down before the whole assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven. 14 He said: “Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in...

Gerald Baker wrote an interesting piece a few weeks back. Baker abhors, as do most of the WSJ editors, Trump’s “non-presidential” behavior and takes every opportunity to whine about it. But if you can get past his complaint about Trump’s “continuing refusal to accept the results” his thesis is interesting. He outlines how it was the Trump haters, the partisan elites of all ilks including the leftist media, who let their deep-seated, personal hatred of Trump undermine our republic and destroy the legitimacy of government. Trump-haters, not Trump. It is they who are responsible for ensconcing our current Mickey Mouse...

Four candidates backed by Donald Trump to challenge Republican lawmakers who voted to impeach him or boot him from office are falling behind in raising money for their campaigns, according to disclosures filed on Friday. Trump, who left office in January, remains a major influence within the Republican party, which hopes to regain control of the U.S. Congress in next year's elections. Only a handful of Republicans joined Democrats when Congress voted to impeach Trump and then held an unsuccessful vote in the Senate to remove him from office, on a charge he incited insurrectionists to attack the U.S. Capitol...

... The chimpanzee is our closest living relative in evolutionary terms and research suggests our kinship derives from a common ancestor. About five to six million years ago, our evolutionary paths separated, leading to the chimpanzee of today, and Homo Sapiens, humankind in the 21st century. In a new study, stem cell researchers at Lund examined what it is in our DNA that makes human and chimpanzee brains different -- and they have found answers. "Instead of studying living humans and chimpanzees, we used stem cells grown in a lab. The stem cells were reprogrammed from skin cells by our...

Boomers and millennials are competing for houses, per a new Zillow report. Boomers are winning. Boomers have more cash to win bidding wars as they take advantage of an appreciating market. Buying a home has been hard enough for millennials, who are struggling with skyhigh prices and a lack of starter homes. Baby boomers and millennials are in a housing war. It's boomers who are winning, according to a Zillow report released this week. It found that so many boomers are active in the housing market that it's become more difficult for millennials to buy a home. As seen in...

ARENAC COUNTY, MI — Showing no fear of humans and with a distinctive item around its neck, an antlered deer attacked a woman on her Arenac County, Michigan property. While the woman survived the bizarre attack despite numerous puncture wounds, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources is reminding residents that wildlife should indeed stay wild. On Sept. 26, DNR officers responded to a residence in the Au Gres area for a report of an antlered white-tailed deer having attacked a woman, according to Lt. Brandon Kieft, DNR district law supervisor. The woman in question, 64-year-old Patty Jean Willis, had been...
