In seeking additional documents from Sussmann’s former law firm, Perkins Coie, investigators from the special counsel’s office appear to be sharpening their focus on the Democratic political machinery during the 2016 campaign and efforts to tie Trump to Russia. Perkins Coie’s clients in 2016 included the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

SAN BRUNO, CA—In an effort to prevent the spread of anti-vax misinformation, YouTube has announced that all videos that have ever been uploaded to their platform will be removed, except that one video that shows Steven Colbert dancing with people dressed as vaccines. "We feel this is the responsible thing to do with our platform," said CEO Susan Wojcicki. "People can now visit YouTube and visit the Stephen Colbert 'Vax-Scene' video as many times as they want! Isn't that great! What a cute and hilarious video! We hope this will encourage many more people to get vaccinated." People who visit...

She lived a life of adventure that spanned two continents. She fell in love with a World War II fighter pilot, barely escaped Europe ahead of Benito Mussolini’s fascists, ground steel for the U.S. war effort and advocated for her disabled daughter in a far less enlightened time. She was, her daughter said, someone who didn’t make a habit of giving up. And then this month, at age 105, Primetta Giacopini’s life ended the way it began — in a pandemic.

All day long I have held out my hands to an obstinate people, who walk in ways not good, pursuing their own imaginations—Isaiah 65. Lord Jesus, I remember as a new Christian, reaching out my hand and shaking the hand of a terminal cancer patient and briefly witnessing to him. The wife sitting by laughed, she said he is a college professor, but not to worry, he won't lecture you now. The next day I came back to see him, he had passed. The Catholic cross on the wall grabbed my attention. The body of Christ was ripped off in...

Explainer: The story behind Pope Francis’ beef with EWTNPope Francis made headlines last week when he criticized those who attack his papacy in the media, calling the attacks “the work of the devil.” The comment was widely interpreted to be a reference to EWTN, the largest Catholic television network in the world, which has given a platform to some of the pope’s most vocal English-speaking critics. This may come as a surprise to many people. As the hosts of America’s Jesuitical podcast put it last week, for many of their young adult listeners, EWTN is “where their grandma watches Mass” and...

Tens of thousands of Haitians attempting to cross the United States Southern Border has created a crisis, but it may only just be the tip of the iceberg. Panama’s Foreign Minister Erika Mouynes said in an interview with Axios that over 85,000 Haitians have crossed through Panama in 2021 and “they all are heading toward the U.S.” “We’ve engaged with every single authority that we can think of, that we can come across, to say, ‘Please, let’s pay attention to this,” said Mouynes who is frustrated “that the Biden administration seemed caught off guard by the Haitian migrant crisis because...

Gov. Greg Abbott on Thursday directed lawmakers to reverse a part of the massive voting restriction and reform package that he signed into law just three months ago that would have reduced penalties for illegal voting. Hearst Newspapers earlier this month reported on the little-noticed provision, which lowered the criminal offense for illegal voting from a second-degree felony to a Class A misdemeanor, punishable by up to a year in jail. Abbott’s flip-flop comes the day after former President Donald Trump pressured him to add a measure requiring an audit of 2020 Texas election results to the Legislature’s agenda in...

The Trudeau Liberals intend to censor the internet this fall through two pieces of legislation within the first 100 days of their new mandate. Parliamentary debate is expected to raise questions on the role of government in regulating the online behaviour of Canadians. Bill C-10 An Act To Amend The Broadcasting Act lapsed in the Senate communications committee of the previous Parliament. The bill proposed to have YouTube videos intended for private viewing regulated as public broadcasts by the CRTC. The arts community strongly supports the legislation, but critics raised freedom of speech concerns. Opposition MPs amended C-10, and Bloc...

It's no scoop to tell you the Chinese regime is thin-skinned. Anyone criticising Beijing does so at their own peril and can expect immediate – and often, heavy-handed – payback. And it's not just foreigners who face the consequences. Desmond Shum is a Chinese tycoon who used to be feted at the highest levels of the Communist Party. The businessman could do no wrong until four years ago when he and his equally prominent ex-wife, inexplicably tumbled out of favour. Now Desmond is a pariah of the state, so he's decided to fight back by revealing the many secrets of...

Why Churchmen Who Demand the Vaccine Are Literally ‘Tyrants.’ The Ultimate ResourceAs I did yesterday, I’m eschewing originality this time in favor of usefulness. Imagine me leaning much too close to you, and speaking like some Palestinian used car salesman when I say, “I am only trying to help you, my friend. In fact, I am losing money on this deal. Losing money! But I like your face!” Then I give your cheeks a squeeze. The ones on your face.Today I call your attention to a magnificent piece of reasoning, and writing, but not by me. Instead it’s by Canadian...

WASHINGTON (AP) — A bitterly divided Senate late Thursday approved President Joe Biden’s choice to oversee vast government-owned lands in the West, despite Republican complaints that she is an “eco-terrorist.″ Tracy Stone-Manning, Biden’s choice to lead the Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management, was approved, 50-45, on a party-line vote. Five Republican senators missed the vote. Republicans sharply criticized her nomination during an often acrimonious Senate debate, with several holding up a metal spike similar to one used in a 1989 environmental sabotage case. Democrats defended Stone-Manning, noting she was never charged with a crime and in fact testified against...

A missing Moon rock originally gifted to the state of Louisiana by then-President Richard Nixon has been returned after a man in Florida found it sitting in an old box in his home. The man told CollectSPACE that he must have bought the rock, which vanished without a trace years ago, at some garage sale within the last 15 or so years — and that he never realized that he had bought such a priceless artifact. The vast majority of the lunar samples brought back during the Apollo missions remain sealed away by NASA. However, most of the nearly 200...

A Cornell University law professor who advocated ending banking 'as we know it' and praised the Soviet Union's financial system over its lack of a gender pay gap has been tapped by the White House to lead the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Saule Omarova's nomination to head the regulatory agency overseeing the country's largest banks is a controversial choice that's alarmed banking groups. She's advocated for moving Americans' financial accounts from private banks to the Federal Reserve and for forcing banks to lose leverage on federal subsidies by becoming 'non-depository lenders.' It would diminish the stature...

The government intends to increase the percentage of women receiving pre-abortion counseling to 80% by 2025, with the goal of reducing terminations by half. The document also seeks to implement other measures to promote healthy lifestyles, increase the birth rate, and...

Mexico's Supreme Court on Monday invalidated an article of the General Health Law that broadly provided for medical personnel's conscientious objection to participating in treatments, such as abortion. “The law did not establish the guidelines and limits necessary for conscientious objection to be exercised without jeopardizing the human rights of other persons, especially the right to health,” the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation announced Sept. 20. The law, adopted in 2018, did not allow medical professionals to invoke conscientious objection "when the life of the patient is put at risk or it is a medical emergency." Marcial Padilla,...

Amazingly, in the year 2021, there is still a demand for clowns. Unfortunately, the supply of clowns in place like Europe, especially Northern Ireland, has dwindled down to almost nothing. This has created a serious clown shortage for carnivals and circuses over there as they look to replace the clowns they lost during the pandemic shutdown, the BBC reports. David Duffy, co-owner of Duffy’s Circus, is putting out the call for performers to take on the role of a clown in his show, which has been closed for more than 500 days. “Because all the circuses in Europe and in...

In The Queen (On the Application of Cornerstone (Northeast) Adoption and Fostering Services, Ltd. v. Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills (OFSTED), (EWCA, Sept. 24, 2021), England's Court of Appeal held that Cornerstone, a Christian foster care agency, violated the Equality Act 2010 and the Human Rights Act 1998 when it required clients with which it placed children to: Set a high standard in personal morality which recognises that God's gift of sexual intercourse is to be enjoyed exclusively within Christian marriage; abstain from all sexual sins including immodesty, the viewing of pornography, fornication, adultery, cohabitation,...
