John Pierce, the attorney defending 17 clients charged with storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, has gone missing. His missed an Aug. 24 court hearing for one of his clients, and nobody has seen him since. On Wednesday, Pierce's associate told a judge the defense attorney had contracted COVID-19 and was in the hospital on a ventilator. The associate also allegedly told a prosecutor Pierce had been in a car accident. Later on, a different associate told a reporter that Pierce was in the hospital being treated for dehydration and exhaustion. This week, the Justice Department got involved, informing...

Researchers wanted to know why some hospitalized patients were still testing positive long after recovery ALBANY — A new study out of Albany Medical Center and Albany Medical College found that the standard test used to diagnose COVID-19 is sensitive enough to detect the coronavirus for days and even weeks after it’s no longer infectious. The study, which looked at a small sample of 14 Albany Med patients being treated for COVID-19, set out to determine why some were still testing positive for the virus long after they had recovered from their infections. Doctors theorized that the standard test used...

According to Harbormaster Mike Wiltshire, the two offshore vessels are the Lonian — a 285-foot super-yacht built by Feadship of Florida and the Netherlands — and the Hodor, its 216-foot companion ship. Both are owned by billionaire Lorenzo Fertitta, former CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The Lonian was purchased for $160 million in 2018 and can hold up to 12 guests and 27 crew members, including the captain. According to superyachttimes.com, the ship is ranked as the 117th largest super-yacht in the world, and its sister ship, the Hodor serves as a trailing garage, housing the “toys,” which...

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) charged Tuesday that the Biden administration was not being truthful about several aspects of the evacuation of Afghanistan — including the number of US citizens left behind. “He knew that we were going to leave Americans behind, and I think he lied to us,” Graham told Fox News’ Sean Hannity of President Biden. “I think there are hundreds, if not thousands, of Americans left behind,” the senator added, “[and] tens of thousands of Afghans.” The White House has not yet provided an exact count of either the number of US citizens who were flown out of...

As resident Joe Biden's propagandists wage a rearguard political war of lies and narrative distortion, al-Qaida has begun exploiting his administration's on-the-ground Afghanistan disaster. The administration's lies, spin and evasions are as morally dreadful as they are pathetically transparent. Jen Psaki's jaw-dropping Aug. 23 "Americans aren't stranded" denial already ranks high among all-time White House double head-slappers. Psaki employed a totalitarian rhetorical trick of the ilk George Orwell condemned. To avoid answering a fair but critical question, she attacked the reporter for using the word "stranded." Then, she redefined the word to mean something it does not, arguing citizens who...

The UK’s foreign secretary is about to face questions over the government’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Dominic Raab will appear in front of the Foreign Affairs Committee. Shadow Foreign Secretary Lisa Nandy said Raab had to answer for on "much more than the chaos of the last two weeks", describing the international withdrawal from Afghanistan as "the biggest foreign policy failing in a generation”. The committee’s chair, Tom Tugendhat, said: "We never thought we would see the day Nato forces, led by the US, would turn their backs on the people of Afghanistan. "How will we deal with...

It’s easy to look at “climate change” litigation in the U.S. and conclude that a good percentage of our environmental bureaucrats and judges who get involved in these things are crazy. Thus many courts around the country (mostly state courts) have allowed lawsuits seeking damages against oil companies over greenhouse gas emissions from their products to proceed at least beyond the preliminary stages. And the EPA, early in the Obama administration (2009) issued what is called the “Endangerment Finding,” declaring CO2 and other GHGs to be a “danger to public health and welfare” — a ridiculous determination that the Trump...

The vaccine wipes out the immune system. pic.twitter.com/O9hiUObWz3 — bristolblues (@BristolBlues32) August 29, 2021 Anyone who has received their Vaccine can not donate convalescent plasma to other Covid patients. The Vaccine wipes out natural Covid antibodies making the convalescent plasma ineffective for treatment. Once people are vaccinated, they cannot donate plasma. The vaccine causes spike antibodies, and for convalescent plasma, they need nucleocapsid antibodies. PHOENIX – While it’s promising to see people getting vaccinated for COVID-19, a new problem that blood banks face is less convalescent plasma donations. The reason why: after you get the vaccine, you cannot donate plasma....

Virginia Tech has announced 134 students were disenrolled after noncompliance with its policy regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. According to the university, these students did not submit vaccine documentation or receive a medical or religion-backed exemption. Virginia Tech officials say they do not know whether any of these students were not planning on returning for reasons other than the COVID-19 vaccines. There are approximately 37,000 students enrolled at Virginia Tech.

A Brazilian bull rider was killed Sunday when his spur got caught in a rope, pulling him under the bull, and the animal stepped on his chest in California, according to the Professional Bull Riders touring group. Amadeu Campos Silva, 22, was competing at a bull-riding Velocity Tour event at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, said Andrew Giangola, a spokesperson for Professional Bull Riders. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. Campos Silva lost his balance and his spur got stuck in the flank strap, which is wrapped around the bull’s lower torso to encourage it to buck. In...

Arm is widely regarded as the most important semiconductor IP firm. Their IP ships in billions of new chips every year from phones, cars, microcontrollers, Amazon servers, and even Intel's latest IPU. Originally it was a British owned and headquartered company, but SoftBank acquired the firm in 2016. They proceeded to plow money into Arm Limited to develop deep pushes into the internet of things, automotive, and server. Part of their push was also to go hard into China and become the dominant CPU supplier in all segments of the market. As part of the emphasis on the Chinese market,...

Dems are going to wish they hadn’t set that impeachment precedent for something as trivial as that Ukraine call, because this is SO much worse. Remember when whistleblowers were a sign of courage, and the only just response to their accusations was to impeach a sitting President for a phone call to a foreign leader? Let’s see if media types (and other Democrats) still feel the same way in light of the grenade that just landed in their lap. Joe Biden has always been an absolute incompetent. That’s hardly a surprise to anyone. But despite some whoppers he’s told over...

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a guide last week for "Inclusive Communication," cautioning against using words like prisoner, smoker, illegal immigrant, disabled or homeless, which the agency says could imply blame or stigma. The guide's opening line says, "We must confront the systems and policies that have resulted in the generational injustice that has given rise to health inequities." The CDC is now about fighting injustice, not disease. The agency says instead of gender-specific pronouns like him or her, use "they," even when referring to one person. And talk about "parents" or "expectant parents" instead of mothers...

A cold-blooded murder in a city northeast of Dallas over the weekend hasn’t exactly made national news – yet. But it could be the first in a new wave of terrorist attacks spawned by President Joe Biden’s disastrous retreat from Afghanistan. On Sunday, the day before the last U.S. military plane departed the Kabul airport, a gunman shot and killed a Lyft driver in Garland, then drove the car over to a nearby police station and started shooting at the people inside. The alleged gunman, later identified as Imran Ali Rasheed, died after police gunned him down. The next day,...

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — They sent thousands of firefighters, 25 helicopters and an arsenal of more than 400 fire engines and 70 water trucks. Yet the fire still advanced. They dropped retardant chemicals through an ash-filled sky and bulldozed trees and brush to slow the march of the flames through the steep and rugged terrain of the Sierra Nevada. Yet the fire still advanced. Bursting across a granite ridge into the Lake Tahoe basin, the Caldor fire now threatens tens of thousands of homes and hotels that ring the lake. On Tuesday, the smoke-choked streets of South Lake Tahoe,...

"Last night in Kabul, the United States ended 20 years of war in Afghanistan, the longest war in American history," President Joe Biden said in an address to the nation on Tuesday afternoon. But is that war over? Biden may have withdrawn the U.S. military from Afghanistan, but terrorist groups intent on attacking the United States still operate there. A week after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Congress enacted a war authorization that was succinct yet sweeping. It said: "That the President is authorized to use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized,...
