We went live with AFP President Tim Phillips and special guest Senator Rand Paul to discuss how the PRO Act would harm the American economy and make it harder for people to get back to work. Here's a brief synopsis: Rand says increasing the corporate tax rate would be a huge mistake. He said the cut to 21% under President Trump was a big success and cites the 400 new jobs created in his hometown of Bowling Green, Kentucky by Corvette. Rand talks about the massive science funding bill which just passed and 17 GOPers in the U.S. Senate supported (Rand...

We reported earlier this week about a troubling story out of Los Angeles where an irate woman was going off on the staff at a spa in Los Angeles because, she said, there was a transgender person with a penis hanging out in the women’s section of the spa. I think it’s fair to say that’s something most women would have a concern about. The woman talks about how there were other women who saw the person and were also offended by what they saw. The woman went off on the spa staff for “siding with him,” the transgender person.Warning for...

The Lord said I am the good Shepherd, I lay down my life so that the sheep can come in and be safe at night, and then go out in the morning to find green pasture; the sheep know my voice and follow me. Though sometimes we walk through a valley of the shadow of death, it not only the strong, but those who praise in song; there is no mountain so high, that praise cannot fly; who see their journey as a mountain majestic and keep moving in paths of righteousness knowing ahead is a table set with an...

A Bloomberg report details how artificial intelligence systems employed by Amazon have hired and fired contract drivers. Called "Flex," Amazon uses AI to determine how many drivers are needed for deliveries. The app, installed on drivers' smartphones, measures whether they delivered packages on time and followed customers' special requests. If a driver misses the mark, they are subjected to an automatic firing. That's exactly what happened to Stephen Normandin, 63, an Army veteran who Flex recently fired. He said algorithms tracked his every move as he delivered packages around the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. Normandin said Amazon unfairly punished him for...

“Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1). Peace with God is the first link in the chain that securely binds a true believer to Jesus Christ. Perhaps the most significant attack Satan wages against Christians is raising doubt about the reality and security of their salvation. He continually promotes the destructive notion of a works-righteousness system as a means of salvation, thus making the preservation of one’s salvation totally dependent upon the believer’s faithfulness. To counteract such a misguided interpretation of what the Bible teaches about salvation, the apostle...

The professional networking platform LinkedIn has deleted the personal account of Dr. Robert Malone, who helped create some of the mRNA technology used in the COVID-19 vaccine, after he raised questions over the possible risks involved in administering it to individuals younger than 18. “My business pays for LinkedIn premium. I have been deleted,” Malone announced in a recent tweet. “Purchased a service from linked in to promote my company. This is very different from the YouTube or Twitter terms. The scientist added that the action taken is “arbitrary and capricious” and has “damaged our business, and we deserve to...

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Sen. Rand Paul wants to be part of the solution to problems in Louisville. “If it were simple, someone would have fixed it a long time ago, but I think being part of the solution is listening and I’ve always been willing to listen,” Paul said. Paul spent time with the Rotary Club of Louisville on Thursday talking about his work on crime and criminal justice, including his partnership with Christopher 2X. “Stick with the educational opportunities that the rotarians love to be a part of as it relates to getting us back on track,” Christopher 2X...

We are, especially here in Brooklyn, living in Robin DiAngelo's world. And yet she seems so unhappy about it. The five-minute walk to my neighborhood bookstore to buy DiAngelo's new book Nice Racism: How Progressive White People Perpetuate Racial Harm is filled with totems signaling the continued ascendancy of the self-styled anti-racist movement. A window on my block bears the hand-scrawled sign "INACTION = CONSENT," a Manichean formulation that DiAngelo echoes throughout her follow-up to the 2018 smash hit White Fragility ("if we are not actively challenging those [racist] structures, we are supporting them," etc.). The storefront of my local...

The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of a Christian florist from Washington state fined refusing to make a floral arrangement for a same-sex wedding because she felt it went against her religious beliefs about marriage. In doing so, the Washington Supreme Court ruling against the Christian florist remains intact. Conservative Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch each said the court should have taken the case. Though the case dates back to 2013, religious liberty legal organization Alliance Defending Freedom said the fight to defend Barronelle Stutzman, the owner of Arlene’s Flowers and Gifts in Richland, Washington,...

EXAMINING THE FOUNDATION It was back in 1962, I'm told, when cracks began to appear in the 42nd story of a very expensive high-rise in Hong Kong. It had already withstood numerous typhoons. And there was no ready explanation for the cracks' sudden appearance. Yet there they were. Obviously, there had to be a problem somewhere. So a team of architects and structural engineers was called in to ferret out the cause. Finally, one determined engineer stumbled upon the reason as he was prowling around the foundations deep in the basement. When he tapped the plaster, he noticed that...

Gentle readers, will your vacation travels bring you to Los Angeles this summer? Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem Psalm 114Psalm 114 1 When Israel came out of Egypt, Jacob from a people of foreign tongue, 2 Judah became God’s sanctuary, Israel his dominion. 3 The sea looked and fled, the Jordan turned back; 4 the mountains leaped like rams, the hills like lambs. 5 Why was it, sea, that you fled? Why, Jordan, did you turn back? 6 Why, mountains, did you leap like rams, you hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, 8 who turned the rock into...

Explanation: You can't walk along the Milky Way. Still, under a dark sky you can explore it. To the eye the pale luminous trail of light arcing through the sky on a dark, moonless night does appear to be a path through the heavens. The glowing celestial band is the faint, collective light of distant stars cut by swaths of obscuring interstellar dust clouds. It lies along the plane of our home galaxy, so named because it looks like a milky way. Since Galileo's time, the Milky Way has been revealed to telescopic skygazers to be filled with congeries of...

Helen Stroud Hamilton created more than 1,100 illustrations for The Happy Hollisters book series, between 1953 and 1969. Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1921, Helen Stroud began drawing and painting as a child. Her mother, who worked full time, was also an accomplished painter and often took her daughter on weekend sketch sessions in the hills outside the city. After high school, Helen studied art history at Wellesley College and continued to draw and paint on her own. After graduation, she returned to Philadelphia, where she was appointed as an instructor at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art (Now...

You can delay raw chicken from spoiling by cooking it, but cooked chicken also has a limited shelf life. Before you bite into that plate of leftovers, check over the chicken carefully to make sure it is still good. Chicken can be bad but have no signs. Throw it out if you notice any of the common signs of bad cooked chicken to avoid food poisoning. Time Is Not On Your Side Cooked chicken must be refrigerated within an hour after cooking so bacteria doesn't begin to multiply. The meat is only good for two to three days after refrigeration,...

Imagine waking up each morning knowing the identities of thousands of people who are about to be mugged for thousands of dollars each. You know exactly when and where each of those muggings will take place, and you’ve shared this information in advance with the authorities each day for a year with no outward indication that they are doing anything about it. How frustrated would you be? Roughly a year ago, B. Ware’s group started sharing its intelligence with fraud investigators at FedEx and the U.S. Postal Service — the primary delivery mechanisms for these counterfeit checks. “It’s so much...

And some that didn't do so much running, but still caused some alarmWales may be known as the land of the dragon, but it’s also been home to a number of different creatures that have been spotted roaming the countryside over the years. From mystical big cats to captured raccoon dogs, there’s always a chance that you might spot something unusual while out for a Welsh walk. While some sightings merely add to the intrigue around exactly what is living in the wild in Wales, others have come at a cost to farmers who have found some of their livestock...
