The Power of Praise to Move Freely

Posted on 07/03/2021 5:48:12 PM PDT by Mrs. Warrior

The Lord said I am the good Shepherd, I lay down my life so that the sheep can come in and be safe at night, and then go out in the morning to find green pasture; the sheep know my voice and follow me.

Though sometimes we walk through a valley of the shadow of death, it not only the strong, but those who praise in song; there is no mountain so high, that praise cannot fly; who see their journey as a mountain majestic and keep moving in paths of righteousness knowing ahead is a table set with an abundance of blessing.

Paul and Silas sang praise to God in their jail cell. God caused an earth quake to break their chains, and an angel came and led them out. The jailer was going to kill himself thinking all of his prisoners had escaped, but Paul told him all as well and the Jailer was saved and all his house hold!

After I was assaulted my husband and I were in our pool and I had a grand mal seizure and fell in the water. My husband held me in his arms as I could not make my body move. After a bit I heard him tell me that he would hold me till he drowned. I could not let him drown and prayed to God to let strength come back to me and we were able to get out safely.

Once while celebrating Independence Day on our local Army Post with other families I was using my walker and enjoyed seeing all the colorful quilts families were sitting on. It had been rainy the day before and I was getting stuck in the mud. I thought of what those quilts were stitched with. We have a loyalty that that keeps us as stars a midst ranks and stripes of those who gave; we are the brave. When the fireworks blaze across the sky, I know I will always keep moving I will not let the mud get in my eye. Other military wives taught me about how to have a girls day out when our husbands were deployed.

Then the troops arrive in formation, they too, even today, are being instilled with the same qualities of loyalty and trust and faithfulness and are taught to never leave a battle buddy behind. When the Army Band plays the national anthem everyone in uniform or retired salutes the flag with such a noble gesture and I and everyone else puts our hand over our heart in respect.

My husband bought me a scooter that is all terrain so I am not left stuck in the mud anymore, so before I eat a funnel cake I bow my head and praise God that I am able to be out there enjoying the celebration still. When the grand finale bursts in glory, we are the veterans who have helped preserve this story. When we drive home to the country, we see the fire flies glowing in the night and thank God for giving us the freedom to live as His lights.
