Matt Hancock is facing a backlash in his constituency over breaking social distancing rules, with a Conservative councillor calling for the former health secretary to be deselected if he does not stand down. Ian Houlder has written to the local Tory party calling for Mr Hancock to be removed as MP for West Suffolk in the wake of his resignation from cabinet. Mr Hancock, who has been MP for the constituency since 2010 and has a majority of more than 23,000, quit at the weekend after leaked CCTV footage showed him kissing his aide in his office in breach of...

To wear cassocks to attend Masses is not to be given respect and priority by others but to show that we belong to GodSeminarians attend a Mass in Sulpician Major Seminary in Hue in April. (Photo courtesy of xuanbichvietnam.net)I am immensely impressed by Cassock Day celebrations. It truly touches me to see seminarians become tearful and delighted, but slightly embarrassed, to put on longed-for cassocks for the first time. The seminary rector tells them that “receiving cassocks marks a new stage in the process to follow God. From now on, you must live a life different from that of other...

Single mom Bri was visiting the pediatrician’s office with her 15-year-old, a child struggling with anxiety, when the doctor said: “If you don’t affirm your daughter’s gender identity, or get her the help she needs, and she kills herself, you’re going to feel awfully guilty.” Bri, who asked The Post to publish only her nickname for fear of being branded a bigot and doxxed by transgender-rights activists, was horrified — not only by the insinuation her teen would commit suicide if she didn’t transition, but also the fact that the general practitioner issued the warning in front of them both....

The CCP’s recent policies to encourage the birth of a third child, crack down on private tutoring, and train skilled workers have all been attributed to the CCP’s recognition of a looming crisis in China’s manufacturing sector, some say.A key factor in encouraging childbirth involves the CCP’s Ministry of Education which has set up an agency to supervise after-school education, according to a circular released on June 9. The agency is responsible for the management of after-school education for primary and secondary school students and even kindergarten children. It sets standards and supervises the establishment of institutions, training content, training...

"America, in this sense, is a country of victorious minorities. The situation began with the protection of rights, but has developed into a dictatorship . . .""we can say that dozens of such families are ready to move to Russia . . . If you analyze the situation in the United States, it has to do with the nation's process of actively accepting LGBT values, same-sex marriages, and so on. As this process intensified, people began to think about moving to other countries, including Russia . . .RT's "Not Alone" project received a request from Orthodox families from the United...

They’ve concocted one of the most transparently silly talking points in memory to defend this position. The quickest way to check out new Democratic Party talking points is to head over to Dana Milbank’s column in the Washington Post. His latest — initially headlined “Even the Squad is more pro-police than these Republicans,” but later changed to read, “Republicans have a new strategy: Blue Lies Matter” — is a snarky regurgitation of White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s highly inventive assertion that Republicans are really the anti-cop party. Why? Because they voted against President Biden’s $1.9 trillion boondoggle “rescue” package,...

Two Catholic churches in the same region of British Columbia burned down in suspicious circumstances early Monday morning. “On behalf of The Diocese of Nelson, I am very saddened by the recent fires that destroyed two Catholic churches – Sacred Heart Mission at Penticton Indian Band and St. Gregory Mission at Osoyoos Indian Band – and for the hurt that it has caused,” Bishop Gregory J. Bittman of Nelson said June 23. “For many years, our priests have been welcomed to minister in these mission churches and it is our hope that this ministry will continue. Our thoughts and prayers...

As the walls are closing in on those who’ve attempted to deflect, discredit, and ignore the evidence over the last 18 months that SARS-CoV-2 was engineered at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a few legacy media organizations are starting to report what we’ve reported for a few months and bringing the receipts – sort of.As the New York Post reported on June 4 (and which RedState’s Scott Hounsell elaborated on later), a Chinese military scientist named Zhou Yusen filed for a patent for a coronavirus vaccine on behalf of the People’s Liberation Army in February 2020, only five weeks after...

A US inventor has created a machine that turns beers, cocktails and other drinks into soft scoop ice cream. Of course, ice creams based on the flavours of our favourite beverages already exist but it usually means sacrificing the alcohol content because the freezing point of alcohol is so low compared to the rest of the ingredients. However, the Below Zero’ machine can take any beverage, and crystallise it in under 30 minutes, keeping the ABV exactly the same, meaning you can get drunk on these treats. Thanks to the technique developed with WDS Dessert Stations in Hinkley, Illinois, USA,...

It came just hours after Cosby, 83, was allowed to return home just two years into his 10 year sentence for sexual assault because of a legal technicality. In the video, news anchor Huw Edwards introduces Ms Fleurry, live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to give...

The Delta variant of COVID-19 has spawned a new, troubling variant known as Delta-plus that has been identified for the first time in Louisiana, according to officials at Ochsner Health. Delta-plus is thought to have the same higher rate of transmission as the Delta variant, which was originally identified in India and is about two times as infectious as the original coronavirus strain. But it also has a characteristic of variants from South Africa and Brazil that makes it harder for antibodies to block it from entering cells. “It gives you a double whammy,” said Dr. Lucio Miele, who has...
