Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen predicted Thursday on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” that Manhattan prosecutors investigating the Trump Organization have enough evidence to file criminal charges. Discussing the Manhattan probe, Kimmel said, “Is this going to be the one? I know you said you expect in the next 30 to 60 days, something will happen that Trump will be charged with something. You went to jail. Rudy might go to jail. His lawyers all seemed to get a punishment. How is this guy able to dodge it?”

Vice President and “border czar” finally traveled to the US border today to address the historic Biden border crisis. Border apprehensions are up eight-fold year-over-year under Biden. On Friday Kamala had the gall to blame Trump for the child separation policy — and conveniently forgot to mention Obama built the cages used to hold kids illegally crossing into the US. Kamala Harris: It is here in El Paso that the prior administration’s child separation policy was unveiled. And so we’ve seen the disastrous effects of that right here in this region. What a disgrace. Joe Biden and Kamala are detaining...

Louisiana’s Democrat Gov. John Bel Edwards vetoed constitutional carry legislation on Friday. The Daily Advertiser noted that Edwards vetoed the legislation, Senate Bill 118, claiming current state law requiring law-abiding citizens to get a permit “strikes the right balance.” State Sen. Jay Morris (R) sponsored the legislation. He responded to Edwards’ veto by saying, “I certainly can’t say it’s a surprise; the governor has been clear all along. But I’m still disappointed. This bill is for law-abiding and freedom-loving citizens.”

A new electrode that could free up 20% more light from organic light-emitting diodes has been developed at the University of Michigan. It could help extend the battery life of smartphones and laptops, or make next-gen televisions and displays much more energy efficient. The approach prevents light from being trapped in the light-emitting part of an OLED, enabling OLEDs to maintain brightness while using less power. In addition, the electrode is easy to fit into existing processes for making OLED displays and light fixtures. "With our approach, you can do it all in the same vacuum chamber," said L. Jay...

This cut-away rendering of the MIT nuclear battery concept shows important components such as the instrumentation and control module, the reactor, and the power module. Credit: Massachusetts Institute of Technology ===================================================================================== We may be on the brink of a new paradigm for nuclear power, a group of nuclear specialists suggested recently in The Bridge, the journal of the National Academy of Engineering. Much as large, expensive, and centralized computers gave way to the widely distributed PCs of today, a new generation of relatively tiny and inexpensive factory-built reactors, designed for autonomous plug-and-play operation similar to plugging in an oversized battery,...

A valedictorian from New Jersey says his high school tried to censor his graduation speech, first making him remove parts about sexuality and mental health, then cutting him off as he spoke at graduation. Eighteen-year-old Bryce Dershem, who graduated from Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, told CBS News he originally wrote a speech about being queer and dealing with mental health issues, but Principal Robert Tull told him to change it. Dershem said he spent months in treatment for anorexia and didn't even know if he'd be able to graduate, let alone become valedictorian. "As soon as I heard...

A fictional war scenario showcases how emerging technological capabilities could be used in a future Sino-U.S. military confrontation over Taiwan. The question as to whether Taiwan can or should be defended by the United States in the event of Chinese military aggression has caused considerable debate in recent months within the U.S. defense and foreign policy communities. Discussions on this subject have been made more difficult as a result of emerging military technologies, especially in artificial intelligence (AI), cyber, robotics, and hypersonic systems, and questions about how they will impact both the quantitative and qualitative cross-strait military balance between China...

“Thank goodness for Donald Trump, or we never would have gotten Kamala Harris to the border,” Haley said, poking at the vice president’s announcement that she would be traveling to the U.S.-Mexico border soon, ahead of Trump’s planned June 30 visit... She railed against teaching in schools that systemic racism has been ingrained in society, accused Democrats of “strong-arm[ing] big tech, big business, and big government into silencing anyone who doesn’t toe the liberal line” and slammed the opposing party for supporting “riots and lawlessness.” Haley also...

Scientists think that a cluster of comet shards may have smashed into Earth's surface 13,000 years ago... While the first Homo sapiens emerged between 200,000 and 300,000 years ago, much farther in the past than this impact, the researchers found that this comet crash actually coincided with significant changes in how human societies self-organized. This work builds on previous research that has suggested that a significant impact may have preceded the beginning of the Neolithic period, the first part of the Stone Age in which a number of major developments in human civilization took place, including notable steps forward in...

Philonise Floyd often occupied the Floyd family’s assigned seat in the socially distanced courtroom where Chauvin’s trial was held. He also testified as part of prosecutors’ efforts to humanize George Floyd to the jury, recalling their childhood in...

One of the House Democrats alongside Vice President Kamala Harris on her visit to the “border” — which was actually hundreds of miles from the epicenter of the migrant crisis — gleefully referred to the Texas area they were touring Friday as “the new Ellis Island.” The eyebrow-raising moment came courtesy of Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Texas), an ally of President Biden who represents El Paso and was part of Harris’ trip delegation.
