Explanation: Eclipses tend to come in pairs. Twice a year, during an eclipse season that lasts about 34 days, Sun, Moon, and Earth can nearly align. Then the full and new phases of the Moon separated by just over 14 days create a lunar and a solar eclipse. Often partial eclipses are part of any eclipse season. But sometimes the alignment at both new moon and full moon phases during a single eclipse season is close enough to produce a pair of both total (or a total and an annular) lunar and solar eclipses. For this eclipse season, the New...

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — As middle school teacher Brittany Paschall assembled a lesson plan on the history of the Negro Baseball Leagues, she wondered how she might have to go about it differently next year under a new Tennessee state law that prohibits teaching certain concepts of race and racism. The unit was about baseball, but more importantly, it was about segregation and racism in America. “I kept thinking, in light of this bill, if this were next year, how would I teach this to my students?” said Paschall, an English teacher in Nashville. “Do we teach students to ignore...

In the joint letter from Gov. Greg Abbott and Doug Ducey, they asked their peers across the country to send officers to the border to help them stem the illegal flow of guns, drugs and people. “In response to the ongoing surge of illegal border crossings, with the accompanying threats to private property and to the safety of our citizens, Governor Abbott has declared a disaster and Governor Ducey...

ATLANTA, GA—After information was released yesterday that hydroxychloroquine can increase the survival rate of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, a sad, forlorn Brian Stelter was forced to shuffle over to the "Days Since Trump Was Proven Right" counter and reset it to zero once again. "Ugh. Not again!" said Stelter as he fumbled with the buttons on the side of the sign and changed it from "00001" to "00000" for the third day in a row. "One of these days we're gonna get up to 3!" "Curse you, Bad Orange Man!" Just in the last several weeks, the CNN crew has...

A group of bipartisan House members introduced legislation Friday that would break up Apple, Amazon, Google, and Facebook. According to a press release from Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), the bills aim to “expand opportunities for consumers, workers, and small business owners by holding unregulated Big Tech monopolies accountable for anti-competitive conduct.” The legislation has support from both sides of the aisle. “Not only is self-regulation by Big Tech patently ineffective, but it also comes at the direct expense of workers, consumers, small businesses, our local communities, and the free press,” said Rep. Jayapal — who helps to lead the House...

I have mosquito bites all over my arms and legs. I'm thinking because I've been out camping, sitting by the campfire and doing a lot of cast iron based cooking over said fire. Which is some of the best kind of cooking if you are to be camping. Then I go into my tent and roll myself into a "sleeping bag" but even then, I'm thinking mosquitoes are still able to get through. So a lot of mosquito bites and it's only mid June. Lot of camping left to go this season. Nothing better though then sleeping under a tent...

Inflation is making headlines all over the country, but the mainstream media is not being honest about the true severity of the crisis.
