Apple built the world’s most valuable business on top of China. Now it has to answer to the Chinese government. On the outskirts of this city in a poor, mountainous province in southwestern China, men in hard hats recently put the finishing touches on a white building a quarter-mile long with few windows and a tall surrounding wall. There was little sign of its purpose, apart from the flags of Apple and China flying out front, side by side. Inside, Apple was preparing to store the personal data of its Chinese customers on computer servers run by a state-owned Chinese...

Minor G1-class geomagnetic storms are possible on May 18-19 when a pair of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) is expected to hit Earth's magnetic field. The two CMEs left the sun on consecutive days: One from sunspot AR2822 on May 13th, the next from sunspot AR2823 on May 14th. Individually, the CMEs appear to be weak and insubstantial; however, they could add up to a geomagnetic storm when they arrive in quick succession this Tuesday.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, has become quite the celebrity in America. Even so, as the COVID-19 pandemic winds down, key aspects of Fauci’s career remain largely unknown to the people. Fauci earned a medical degree at Cornell in 1966 but if he ever practiced medicine it was only for a short time. As Raymond S. Greenberg explains at Historynet.com, the mid-1960s were the days of “a compulsory draft of American physicians,” to serve in military hospitals in Vietnam. ---SNIP--- As Michael Fumento noted in The Myth of Heterosexual AIDS, Fauci was hopelessly wrong that AIDS would...

A kitten rescued from traffic by a Florida woman ended up taking an 80-mile ride in an Uber to an animal rescue facility. Kylie Gross said she was on her way to work in Hialeah, just outside of Miami, when she spotted a tiny kitten weaving through traffic. Gross, a nurse practitioner, said she was able to get the kitten into her car, but when she arrived at the clinic where she administers COVID-19 vaccines, the feline had vanished into the steering column. "When I got to work, I couldn't get her out of the car," Gross told WPBF-TV. "I...

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) says Texas will opt out of further federal unemployment compensation related to the COVID-19 pandemic next month, thereby ending the $300 weekly unemployment supplement from the federal government, in order to help unemployed Texans get back to work and to curtail fraudulent unemployment claims. Abbott made the announcement Monday afternoon, saying he'd informed the U.S. Department of Labor in a letter the state would opt out effective June 26. “The Texas economy is booming and employers are hiring in communities throughout the state,” said Abbott. “According to the Texas Workforce Commission, the number of job...

COVID Vaccines, the Common Good, and Moral Liceity: A Response to Professor de Mattei — Part IIVaccine Fanaticism versus the Common Good As Part I of this series showed, even before it reaches the moral question, Prof. de Mattei’s “The Moral Liceity of the Vaccination” (MLV) fails to demonstrate a credible basis for his claim that “the common good of the population requires mass vaccination” with abortion-derived vaccines and that public authorities would “have a right to impose it, according to the principle that the common good takes precedence over the good of individuals…” (MLV, p. 55). Part I notes...

America’s majestic emblem conjures feelings of awe. They also attack small dogs and scavenge a landfill. The bald eagle population has made a remarkable comeback. But the majestic symbol of American pride is turning out to be a nuisance, especially in Canada. Flocks have been spotted along highways in the Pacific Northwest, feasting in a landfill in Vancouver. Earlier this year, a ravenous raptor stalked and killed a seagull in front of shocked onlookers at a busy Vancouver golf course. Dignity, my fellow American eagles. With an 8-foot wingspan and a distinctive snowy-white head, America’s national emblem conjures feelings of patriotism...

YAVIN—Known rebel and terrorist Luke Skywalker has been condemned by the Imperial Press Corps for blowing up an Associated Press office located on the Death Star. "Mr. Skywalker barely gave us an hour's notice to evacuate," said AP reporter Bryn Stellar. "It's clear that the Rebellion wants to eliminate journalists and hamper our ability to tell the story of their terror to the galaxy. We were just minding our own business reporting on their nefarious activity from our offices on the 64th level of the Empire's new space station when we got the warning." "Shocking and appalling."

To me, Kamala Harris was one of the mysteries of the 2020 election cycle. She seemed to check a lot of boxes, and I saw her as an attractive candidate who had a good shot–maybe the best–at the Democratic presidential nomination. Instead, her campaign crumbled out of the starting gate, and notwithstanding ample initial fundraising, she didn’t make it to the Iowa caucuses. Despite having a number of superficial advantages, to paraphrase the old joke about dog food, the voters just didn’t like her. Now, a YouGov poll finds Harris under water, with 41% viewing her favorably and 48% unfavorably....

Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, released their tax returns on Monday. The Biden family reported an adjusted gross income of $607,336 in 2020. The Bidens continue to keep much of their fortune in cash. This disclosure shows that they have at least $950,000 in six bank accounts, the same amount they disclosed holding last year. Biden still carries some debt.

See video at link--the top one embedded on this page. You have to scroll down a little bit. (Couldn't find it on Youtube.) Great video. The speaker analyzes how the U.S. is heading down the road of Communism, as Dems take total control of everything, including business and "the capitalist system." People are giving in, just to survive and do what they have always been free to do. Soon we won't be able to buy, sell, work, travel or do anything without government authorization. The Communist takeover of the U.S. is underway. We would do well to study Mao's cultural...

Eight years ago I wrote a post titled: Can A Nation Built By Giants Survive Nanny State Paternalism? The Numbers Don't Look Good... In it I wrote: “ Were the Americans who carved a nation out of a continent, who crisscrossed that continent with railroads, telephone lines and highways and who won two world wars so different from Americans today… Not based on DNA they weren’t. But that doesn’t mean they were the same. While the DNA of the American people today is no different from that of the people who invented the elevator or the light bulb, the American...

Dr. David Strang M.D., is the Belknap County Republican Committee State Committee Member, with the New Hampshire GOP. On Sunday Dr. Strang examined the latest results coming from the Windham, New Hampshire elections audit. He was stunned with the results and wrote up an analysis out for The Gateway Pundit. Dr. Strang told The Gateway Pundit that there were at least two other towns that had voting machines, similar to Machine #2 in Windham, that showed Democrat favoritism. According to Dr. Strang these voting machines were always the machines that were fed the most ballots in these communities. So this...

In a democracy, every vote is supposed to be equal. If about half the country supports one side and half the country supports another, you may expect major institutions to either be equally divided, or to try to stay politically neutral. This is not what we find. If it takes a position on the hot button social issues around which our politics revolve, almost every major institution in America that is not explicitly conservative leans left. In a country where Republicans get around half the votes or something close to that in every election, why should this be the case?...
