One of the issues with this claim is that if the antibodies attack the placenta then that means the placenta actually formed, which means the patient got pregnant,” said Hector Chapa, MD, FACOG, clinical assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Texas A&M University College of Medicine. “So, it wouldn’t be a cause of infertility, which is the inability to conceive and become pregnant. The issue would be pregnancy loss, but that’s not actually being found in the data.”

The continuing miniaturization of electronics is opening up some exciting possibilities when it comes to what we might place in our bodies to monitor and improve our health. Engineers at Columbia University have demonstrated an extreme version of this technology, developing the smallest single-chip system ever created, which could be implanted with a hypodermic needle to measure.... snip

As US jettisons masks, Catholics call for keeping eyes open on justiceNEW YORK – As masks come off and the U.S. begins to move past the COVID-19 pandemic, Cardinal Blase Cupich wants Catholics to stay vigilant about social issues that continue to plague the nation, always putting the poor and marginalized first.“Whatever the project, however complex the issue or how enormous the challenge, the starting point must be a deep and loving respect for the poor, uniting with them, accompanying them, and encountering them with an appreciation for their creative capacity to pursue the life God has always intended for...

It appears some mountain lions appear quite comfortable at a home in Rapid City, South Dakota. According to Annie Mueller, who lives at the home, the mountain lions visited at approximately 6 a.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Tuesday, and returned at 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Security camera video from Tuesday morning even shows one of the cougars checking out Mueller’s front door before climbing up on a bench. Historically, mountain lions have lived throughout South Dakota, with many located in the Black Hills, according to the state’s Game, Fish and Parks department. Their population declined in the 1900s...

Pandora’s new collection of lab-grown diamonds will be launched initially in the United Kingdom and will be available in other key markets next year, it said. Pandora said it expected the diamond market to continue to grow, with sales of lab-grown diamonds outpacing overall growth. Pandora’s lab-grown gems will be made using a technology in which a hydrocarbon gas mixture is heated to 800 Celsius (1,472 Fahrenheit), spurring carbon atoms to be deposited on a small seed diamond, growing into a crystal layer by layer. Pandora, which has until now sourced mined diamonds from KGK Diamonds, said it will get...

The From the Desk of Donald J. Trump webpage where the former president has been posting statements was down on Saturday after he asserted that the entire Maricopa County ballot database has been deleted. His statement also alleged massive fraud in the form of “broken seals on boxes, ballots missing, and worse.” It is currently unclear if the website being down was due to an attack or just an overloaded server from all the traffic attempting to go to it. His main website was still functioning, but attempting to go to the page where he posts statements was generating an...

Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, whose criticism of former President Donald Trump led to her ouster from House Republican leadership, said Friday that several Republican members of Congress had voted against impeaching Trump out of fear for their own lives. Telling CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead" that there are "more members who believe in substance and policy and ideals than are willing to say so," Cheney cited the impeachment vote earlier this year, in which she was one of only 10 House Republicans who voted to hold Trump accountable for the Capitol riot. "If you look at the vote...

Vatican blocks Biden communion ban in US, pushes vaccine, silent on German schismIn recent weeks, U.S. bishops have lined up on either side of the debate, with leftists in the hierarchy outing themselves for their infidelity.May 13, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Another unbelievable couple of weeks in the Vatican have just wrapped up. We’ve not only seen the Pope’s vaccine-pushing conference featuring Chelsea Clinton (and a whole host of other pro-abortion bigwigs), but we’ve also witnessed Rome’s public push to excommunicate all mafia members while simultaneously blocking an effort by many U.S. bishops to refuse Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and many...

The primary school pupils carried 'toy guns' and chanted 'there is no forgiveness to your enemies' as they marched in the industrial city of Elektrostal, which lies 36 miles east of Moscow. The parade coincided with a call from Vladimir Putin's top security official for a boost to military training for children. This would help to combat extremism and 'pro-Western liberal values'.

f the media could take a break from obsessing over the House Republicans choosing a new conference chair, they might have noticed that Joe Biden’s presidency is falling apart. On every major front, Biden is flailing — even by the depressingly low bar set for him by the Washington press corps. April just saw the highest rate of inflation in 13 years, according to the Department of Labor. Prices for everything, including food and gasoline, immediately skyrocketed after Biden’s $2 trillion welfare scheme (sometimes referred to as a “stimulus package”) went into effect and flooded the economy with more money...

....China you see, isn't paying the help. And make no mistake: that leaves American workers holding the bag, competing against those zero-wage workers who don't want to be there in the province of Xinjiang. For American workers, it's the same economic dynamic seen in the antebellum South, where "poor white trash" got so very rich (/sarc) competing against enslaved African-Americans held in bondage on the plantations. There's a reason they were called "poor white" with "trash" thrown on, or, if they were slightly richer, then "crackers." That's Biden's plan for laid off U.S. energy workers. And man, it stinks. It's...

President Biden entered the Oval Office nearly four months ago and immediately signed dozens of executive orders and made sweeping legislative proposals aimed at rolling back the policies of former President Donald Trump. Early in the Biden presidency, the United States is now facing a series of emerging crises that critics attribute directly to these reversals of Trump-era policies and positions. "Weak leadership is the cause of all of these crises," freshman Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) told the John Solomon Reports podcast, citing the surge of illegal immigration, the disabling Colonial Pipeline hack, and the flare-up of violence in the...
