A children's graphic novel from the immensely popular "Captain Underpants" series will no longer be found in library and book store shelves after the publisher deemed it to contain "passive racism." The book in question is 2010's "The Adventures of Ook and Gluk" by Dav Pilkey, who has apologized for the work saying it "contains harmful racial stereotypes" and is "wrong and harmful to my Asian readers." The book follows a pair of friends who travel from 500,001 B.C. to 2222, where they meet a martial arts instructor who teaches them kung fu and they learn principles found in Chinese...

The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were 90% effective at preventing Covid-19 infections in real world conditions in a study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released Monday. The study of 3,950 healthcare workers, first responders and other essential workers found that the risk of infection fell by 90% two weeks after participants got their second vaccine shot. The risk dropped by 80% two or more weeks after the first shot. The study was conducted between December 2020 and March 2021 and did not distinguish between the effectiveness of each vaccine. Most infections were identified before symptoms arose....

EXCLUSIVE: Kelly Tshibaka, Alaska's Commissioner of Administration, is expected to announce a Republican primary challenge to incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski in the 2022 midterms, Fox News has learned. Tshibaka, who is set to announce her candidacy Monday, describes herself as a candidate to represent "a new generation of Alaska conservatives" and says she'll portray herself as the candidate to rebuild the Alaskan economy, defend and rejuvinate small businesses and fight to protect the jobs of Alaskans in the energy industry. Tshibaka will also campaign as a strong opponent to illegal immigration, a staunch defender of the Second Amendment and an...

“We now have an intelligentsia which, though very small, is very useful to the cause of Hell.” -C.S. Lewis, The Screwtape Letters A masterful piece of religious prose disguised as satire, C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters is a series of messages from senior devil Screwtape to his protégé Wormwood on how best to corrupt mortals. Originally released during World War II, its tight 175 pages provide charming, timeless wisdom. In an addendum released shortly before the author’s death in 1963 – Screwtape Proposes a Toast – Lewis pivots from dispensing universal wisdom to directly criticizing social trends of his day,...

The days of the old black phone connected to the wall, or sitting on table connected by a cord are almost over. Even if you still have a dial up phone, it's probably working off a main station with a cordless phone. I would guess that 99% of Americans today have cell phones. Those of us old enough to remember those days may be able to relate to this story. When I was a young boy, my father had one of the first telephones in our neighborhood. I remember the polished, old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver hung...
  • GOP candidate accused of pandering after he transforms into cowboy for Texas congressional run

New Jersey boy. Pro wrestler. Republican candidate in Nevada. Dan Rodimer has led many lives, but his latest - a cowboy-hat-wearing, Southern-drawling bull rider - might be the most extreme transformation to date. In his first ad as a candidate for Texas's 6th Congressional District, "Big Dan" Rodimer speaks in a gravelly, indistinct Southern accent, throws jabs at Democratic policies and compares House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to a bull. The bull he's supposedly riding in the ad. But the New Jersey native did not have the twang last year when he ran for Congress in Nevada. In one of...

Eric Trump was asked by Fox host Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” about the allegations swirling around President Biden’s son and the gun that turned up missing in 2018 — and his involvement in business dealings in China and Ukraine, as reported by The Post last October. “Obviously, Hunter is a troubled kid, right? There’s no question about that. But if that was Don or I, or if that was anybody in the Trump family, and we lied on a federal form, we’d be in jail for the rest of our lives. We really would be,” former President Donald...

"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2Co 3:18) Among the many losses within modern Christianity has been the place of transformation. Nineteenth century revival movements and theology emphasized a single experience that was associated with salvation. Those who concerned themselves with what came later, described growth in the Christian life as “sanctification,” and tended to imply that it was optional. Contemporary Christians have settled for a spiritual life in a plain...

VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbOnw7ychfA&t=7s Hundreds of people have been killed and I’ve not seen any American press on the coup that is currently taking place. The country of Myanmar (Burma) has recently been taken over by the military-backed opposition party. Notice that all of these protesters are unarmed citizens, yet they are being slaughtered. And why? Because they are against the coup. So what is happening and why is it happening? Myanmar has been the center of angst for a long time now. The Myanmar military seized control of the country and has declared a year long state of emergency. This seizure...

Washington — Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), issued a dire warning of a sense of "impending doom" as coronavirus infections and hospitalizations tick up and pleaded with Americans to not let up on mitigation measures. During a briefing from the White House COVID-19 Response Team and public health officials, Walensky said there are "continuing concerning trends" in the nation's response to the coronavirus pandemic, with the number of infections, hospitalizations and deaths all rising. The number of coronavirus cases in the U.S. has surpassed 30.2 million, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The failure of the Obama administration to defend the Philippines in early 2012, in a confrontation similar to today's, emboldened China's regime to adopt an even more aggressive posture in its peripheral waters. China claims all the waters inside the dashes are sovereign as well, terming them "blue national soil." There is no legal basis for an assertion of sovereignty of this sort. Whitsun, which Manila calls Julian Felipe Reef, is 175 nautical miles from Palawan, an island of the Philippines. The feature is within the Philippine "exclusive economic zone"....

I admit to being one of those Americans painstakingly disinterested in anything having to do with the "royal family."Call me a Jeffersonian, a modernist, an arrogant American, if you will. I just think the entire premise of an ordained bloodline to rule over people is a bad idea in the 21st century. To paraphrase the geniuses at Monty Python, "supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses," not some farcical bequeathing of majesty predicated upon genetic pedigree. That's why with as much as it's dominated the headlines recently, I remained spectacularly incapable of locating even the slightest shred of...

The Biden administration’s attention along the Mexico border has been consumed for the past several weeks by the record numbers of migrant teenagers and children crossing into the United States without their parents, at a rate that far exceeds the government’s ability to care for them. But as they race to add shelter capacity for these minors, Department of Homeland Security officials are privately warning about what they see as the next phase of a migration surge that could be the largest in two decades, driven by a much greater number of families. DHS expects approximately 500,000 to 800,000 migrants...

Note from my friend about his Nephew's Wife Angela, she is in her early 50's: Just wanted to let you know that I took Angela to the ER Sat night with body jerks/spasms every 5-10 seconds. The ER doc was puzzled and she was admitted to the hospital. They did tons of blood work and an MRI on her brain. They still have no idea what is causing this but the Neurologist has referred her to Vanderbilt neurology and their movement disorder clinic. The test ruled out MS, Parkinson's, brain tumor etc. The spasms are still happening just as often....

Athlete activists and activist groups have joined in an effort to force Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Professional Golfers Association (PGA) to boycott the state of Georgia after the state government passed an election reform bill. The Masters is scheduled to be held in Augusta, Georgia, in August. The MLB All-Star Game is scheduled to take place in July. However, several different activist groups are doing their best to prevent either event from taking place after Georgia passed a voter reform law that will make it harder for Democrats to steal elections.

The former president is obsessed with defeating him next year. He’s getting mauled by his own state party. Last week alone, a Republican congressman announced he’d challenge in the primary and the state legislature voted to strip his office of some official powers. By most accounts, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger doesn’t have a prayer of being reelected. “He’s toast,” said Jay Williams, a Georgia-based Republican strategist. “I don’t know that there’s a single elected official who would put their neck out for Brad Raffensperger right now.” Not everyone in state political circles is convinced Raffensperger’s political plight is...

Monday, Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) discussed her recent push for more Asian representation in the White House after President Joe Biden vowed to create the “most diverse cabinet” in American history. Duckworth, who recently contested the Biden administration’s white cabinet appointees in the name of more “diversity,” said she was told by the White House that since Vice President Kamala Harris represents the Asian-American community, there is not a need for “any other Asians in the cabinet.” She went on to say the issue was worked out with the administration, and she is “pleased” there is now someone to help...

"It was a very special day, July 24 [2020]," said France's leading expert on Islam, Gilles Kepel. "It was pilgrimage time to Mecca and, due to the pandemic, no one was there! It was the anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne, the origin of modern Turkey within its current borders. Erdogan was about to twist the arm of the secular Ataturk, who had turned the old Hagia Sophia basilica into a museum that he had donated 'to humanity'. Erdogan... turned it back into a mosque". This was the moment, remarked Kepel - who just published a new book, "Le Prophète...
