China has offered itself several times in the past as an alternative to the United States when it comes to mediating between Israelis and Palestinians, coming up with proposals to end their decades-old conflict. "We will invite Palestinian and Israeli public figures to have talks in China," al-Arabiya quoted Wang as saying. He did not elaborate, and it was not immediately clear whether he had government representatives in mind. On Yemen, Wang said: "We call for implementing the Saudi initiative for a settlement in Yemen as soon as possible." The Saudi peace initiative includes a nationwide ceasefire and the reopening...

BEIJING - Growing demand for electric car batteries will cause prices of the main materials to surge, Goldman Sachs analysts said in a March 18 note. That in turn will drive prices of batteries higher by about 18%, affecting the total profit of electric car makers since the battery accounts for about 20% to 40% of the vehicle cost, the Goldman analysts said. While the report didn’t give specific price targets for the commodities, the analysts’ model predicted a return to historical peak prices would more than double the cost of lithium for electric battery makers. That of cobalt would...

Mass shootings in Georgia and Colorado that left at least 18 people dead since last week are reigniting calls from gun control advocates for tighter restrictions on buying firearms and ammunition. But with Democrats in control of the federal government, gun rights advocates have been persuading Republican-run state legislatures to go the other way, making it easier to obtain and carry guns. How are the politics of gun legislation playing out in the United States this year? Here’s the breakdown: PROSPECTS MIXED FOR LEGISLATION This month, the Democrat-controlled U.S. House of Representatives adopted measures to expand background checks to all...

Is it me or does Biden want America infected with Mexican/Central and South American COVID.With America still suppressed by COVID mandates endorsed by President Biden saying we might have a little barbeque on July 4th (no celebrations); he says NOTHING ABOUT COVID INFECTIONS POURING THROUGH OUR SOUTHERN BORDER WITH THE FENCE JUMPING "IMMIGRANTS".The news is that the Fence Jumping "Immigrants" are being released without being tested for COVID!IMHO, It is obvious Biden wants America REINFECTED WITH COVID TO INCREASE COVID RESTICTIONS and to POSSIBLY LOCKDOWN AMERICA ONCE AGAIN.Why? It would keep Democrats in Power and in Total Control.

A naked Florida woman was rescued from a Delray Beach storm drain Tuesday after becoming trapped for an unknown length of time, authorities said. Crews dropped a ladder and harness down the drain to lift her out after a passerby heard someone calling for help from below. The storm drain is about eight feet deep, local authorities said. Only a pair of scuffed, bloody knees can be seen of the victim before she’s loaded onto a stretcher en route to a hospital for medical treatment. But after the rescue, authorities learned she had been missing for weeks, the Sun Sentinel...

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) questioned the wisdom of a push by congressional Democrats to enact legislation in the immediate aftermath of a tragic shooting in Boulder, CO earlier this week. Kennedy suggested Democrats were using this moment to enact gun control because he did not think they believed in the Second Amendment as interpreted by the federal government.

Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) says he will discuss the Senate’s plan for addressing gun violence with Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and other colleagues in the wake of mass shootings in Boulder and Atlanta. Schumer says his preference is to focus on legislation to expand background checks for gun sales, though he isn’t ruling out additional legislation to limit the sale of high-capacity magazines and assault-style weapons. The Democratic leader also declined to say whether Republican opposition to gun control legislation would make his caucus more likely to eliminate the Senate’s filibuster rule, which requires that legislation have 60...

Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) said Tuesday on CNN’s “OutFront” that Republican lawmakers were “complicit” in all the mass shootings that take place in the United States, given their opposition to gun legislation. Blumenthal said, “In Boulder, that shooter is a deeply disturbed man who became a mass killer because he had an assault weapon that can kill people with the efficiency and speed meant for the battlefield. So guns make all these problems more fatally and deadly, especially for domestic violence victims who then can be killed, five times more likely to be killed in those situations. That’s why we...

Three-month-old babies should be taught about implicit bias and racial stereotypes, according to a series of experts quoted in The Washington Post. In a much-mocked article last week, entitled 'Social justice for toddlers', parents were given a list of books, websites, YouTube channels and companies offering 'woke' material for babies and young children. 'Children develop implicit bias as early as three months old, and at four years old are categorizing and developing stereotypes,' one expert told author Natalie Jesionka, a Dalla Lana Global Journalism Fellow at the University of Toronto.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — The mayor of Oakland, California, on Tuesday announced a privately funded program that will give low-income families of color $500 per month with no rules on how they can spend it. Oakland's project is significant because it is one of the largest efforts in the U.S. so far, targeting up to 600 families. And it is the first program to limit participation strictly to Black, Indigenous and people of color communities. The reason: White households in Oakland on average make about three times as much annually than black households, according to the Oakland Equity Index. It's...
