The good news is Pennsylvania no longer sits among the bottom-dwelling states in vaccinating people against COVID-19. The bad news is Pennsylvania is still Pennsylvania. This means that even at its best and no matter the issue, it’s hanging around or just below the middle of states. This week, for example, 28 states have vaccinated higher percentages of their populations. But there used to be 38. So, we’re making progress in climbing toward mediocrity. Meanwhile, Gov. Tom Wolf chants his mantra: “We need to do better.” You’ll be happy to know he’s tapped a bipartisan legislative task force to work...

On September 17, Constitution Day, I chaired a panel organized by the White House. It was an extraordinary thing. The panel’s purpose was to identify what has gone wrong in the teaching of American history and to lay forth a plan for recovering the truth. It took place in the National Archives—we were sitting in front of the originals of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution—a very beautiful place. When we were done, President Trump came and gave a speech about the beauty of the American Founding and the importance of teaching American history to the preservation of freedom....

Senator Tom Cotton spoke to the assembled multitude in free Florida at CPAC yesterday. Among other things, he recalled the chaos he sowed inside the New York Times with the publication of his column calling for federal troops to restore order in riot-torn cities last year. Times staffers protested that the column put the lives of “Black @NYTimes staff in danger.” The column caused a “total meltdown with the little social justice warriors at The New York Times,” as he put it, “all these children that have been marinated in the language of the campus seminar room.” He recalled, “They...

Talk show host Bill Maher said he wishes there was more optimism going around now that COVID-19 is on the decline and vaccinations are rolling out. Maher, who hosts the HBO show Real Time with Bill Maher, targeted Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, saying he is “always a downer.” “Can we be a little happy?” Maher said on his show. “Can we be a little happy about where we are COVID-wise as opposed to ... it’s just like they really don't want you. I think it's counterproductive. I really do. The...

Social movements tap into our most primitive emotions, obscuring the complexities of sociopolitical problems. Reason is traded for ideological fervor and skepticism is swapped with religious dogma. Such was the case in 2020 in the wake of several high-profile cases of alleged police brutality involving black victims. Across the US and Western countries worldwide, activists and average citizens alike vigorously protested against a perceived (but empirically refuted) “epidemic of racist police killings.” A new survey commissioned by Skeptic Research Center reveals the extent to which the public is misinformed on the issue of police violence. Participants across the political spectrum...

Does this look like the face of someone you want determining your children's fate? There is an almost unnatural push for transgenderism - especially for children- from the left recently and you have to ask why. democrats make it sound like utopia but it is anything but. Trans woman Rachel Levine- a biologic male- who has been nominated to head the HHS, was grilled by Rand Paul on her* feelings about puberty blockers and it was telling. Levine is clearly all in favor of children being given all sorts of hormones whenever they child feels like he or she has...

General Michael Flynn penned an oped at UncoverDC on Friday. The America First General and Trump ally called on President Trump to speak clearly on the fraud and irregularities of the 2020 election in his CPAC speech on Sunday. General Flynn even suggests that if President Trump skips over this discussion and analysis of the stolen election there may never be another free and fair election in America’s future. Here is a segment from General Flynn’s appeal to President Donald Trump.

On a number of national security issues, the Biden administration is showing troubling signs of a backslide with regard to the historic progress Trump made.Whatever your views of Donald Trump’s presidency, it is hard to dispute that he produced a stronger record of achievement across the board when it comes to protecting the American people from a range of foreign threats than any other president in at least a generation. His national security accomplishments in four short years included taking on China, forging the historic Abraham Accords in the Middle East, defeating the ISIS caliphate, countering Iran, and standing up...

Germans have started to feel worn-out by the coronavirus lockdown. Psychiatrists and psychologists have warned that a further extension could have severe long-term effects on society and mental health. After weeks of snow and subzero temperatures, there is a touch of spring in the air in late February in Berlin. Thousands of people are out on the streets. In busy areas, just a handful wear masks. Although nonessential retailers remain closed and eateries are only open for takeout, long lines snake outside every coffee shop, artisanal bakery and outdoor food market. It would be easy to forget that Germany has been...

Seven years ago today, Russia violated international law, the norms by which modern countries engage one another, and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its neighbor Ukraine when it invaded Crimea. The United States continues to stand with Ukraine and its allies and partners today, as it has from the beginning of this conflict. On this somber anniversary, we reaffirm a simple truth: Crimea is Ukraine. The United States does not and will never recognize Russia’s purported annexation of the peninsula, and we will stand with Ukraine against Russia’s aggressive acts. We will continue to work to hold Russia accountable...

Joe Biden spent the past two days conducting blunder-filled TV interviews and speeches. It was expected that Joe Biden was going to be a gaffe machine. That is, after all, the long-running joke about the avuncular former vice president—one that Democrats, and the Onion, generally found endearing right up until the moment Biden launched his third presidential run. Still, the velocity of self-inflicted wounds has been remarkable, prompting whispers about Biden’s age (76) and mental agility. It’s not just his penchant for expressing antiquated views on political civility but also his spouting off confusing strings of numbers during his last...

Jared Golden (ME) and Kurt Schrader (OR), voted in opposition to the bill. The 591-page bill is filled with pork, the biggest one being an increase in the federal minimum wage over the next five years. The current federal minimum wage sits at $7.25. By year five, it would sit at $15 an hour, assuming the Senate votes in favor of the bill. House Democrats decided to keep the increase in the bill even though Senate...
